Cole Adam Barnes – Father: Jack’s father was a muggle lawyer who was unaware of magic until Jack received his letter to Hogwarts at which point his mother explained everything. He was reluctant to accept it at first but eventually came round to it and accepted his son as a wizard.


Amelia Barnes (nee Parker) – Mother: Jack’s mother was a witch who attended Hogwarts Scotland and was sorted into Ravenclaw. She worked in the British Ministry of Magic a career she kept secret from her muggle husband until Jack got his letter to Hogwarts.

Relatives:

Rebecca Lavish (nee Parker) – Maternal Aunt: Jack’s aunt who like her sister was a witch and attended Hogwarts Scotland and was sorted into Hufflepuff. She was a professional Quidditch player for ten years after she left Hogwarts for the Falmouth Falcons after retiring she went to work for the Ministry of Magic. She has a son, Hayden who is Jack’s cousin.

Hayden Lavish – Cousin: Hayden is the son of Jack's aunt Rebecca. He is 8 years old and an only child. He is a keen quidditch fan and adventurous child.

History:

Jack was born in London, England to a muggle father and a witch mother. Born in a muggle hospital with no complications Jack’s mother decided to keep his magical potential a secret from Jack’s father and with it her own magic. Raised as a muggle Jack grew up to believe that magic was fiction with his muggle unable to tell him otherwise. When Jack’s letter to Hogwarts arrived on his 11 birthday he was shocked and confused, turning to his parents for answers his mother finally explained everything to Jack and his father, Jack was thrilled to learn that he was a wizard whereas his father took the news rather differently. Despite being slow to deal with the news he soon came around and supported his son although elected now to go with him to Diagon Alley to shop instead letting Jack’s mother guide him through the magical world without him.

When he arrived at Hogwarts Jack was sorted into Ravenclaw just like his mother and soon took to the academic side of magical education with his spellcasting soon catching up. He found himself to be a capable flyer and in his second year joined the house quidditch team as a chaser, he was an alternate for his first two years before becoming a regular for the remainder of his time at the school.

Upon his graduation from Hogwarts Jack began working with the Ministry of Magic in the Department of Magical Law Enforcement he worked there for four years before moving to the Department for International Magical Cooperation where he travelled the world with particular focus in the USA and Canada. During the last few years of his time with the British Ministry he was engaged to a woman he met during his time with the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, after their engagement fell apart Jack resigned and moved to New Zealand.
