I've Got Some Mischief In My Blood

[Wynter Mckenna-Styx]

Actual real life people. Hogwarts was annoying. Not to be extra, Wynter loved people, she just didn't like them trying to get to know her. Do you know how hard it is to keep up a lie when multiple people are involved. She had so many different threads now. An only child raised by a single father. A shy twin. A bullied younger sibling. The traumatised remaining member of a once decadent family. A lie was much easier with elements of truth, but she had such a boring truth, it was hard to amp it up. Oliver really remained her only constant and she was convinced her brother didn't like her. Probably not untrue, she knew she was annoying. She'd given up on using different names in the first week, it was too hard to undermine the professors and the students. Still, keeping on her toes meant she was able to work the way she wanted, and not under the control of someone else. Her eyes and ears let her know things that happened in the upper years. Honestly if anyone ever wanted to pay her she'd spill the secrets of the entire school. Maybe she should be working for that magazine she'd heard so much about, she was sure she would be an excellent asset to any of the writing sections.

Wynter carried her towel all the way to the edge of the lake. She'd never really had the chance just to go swimming and so now that was going to change. She dropped her gear on her towel and stepped into the water. Her mother had warned her to watch out for Giant Squid, but Wynter didn't actually believe that there were any Giant Squid in the lake, that seemed a little ridiculous. Everyone knew Giant Squid weren't real.

[Viktor Styx]

Viktor Styx perched into a tree, overlooking the scenery. As he had hoped expected, someone familiar came down from the castle and toward the lake, where he was in perfect viewing. Wynter looked as though she was going swimming, and that alone made the Ravenclaw look a bit harder, steadying himself in the tree as he watched. Viktor watched as she entered the water, before he climbed down and landed on the grass, silently. He was a strange kid, but looking at his family, not one can blame him. Viktor approached the shore and sat down, placing one of his arms on his legs. Viktor did wonder about her from time to time. From what he found out, she was a twin, but his name was not important enough for him to remember. Viktor didn't make any motion to be able to signal her to come over to him, or to even let her know that he was there. Viktor didn't think once about going into the lake. It likely had diseases or something in it. He wasn't for sure on it, but swimming was definitely not the Ravenclaw's thing.

Viktor looked over at the objects that she had dropped, and casually moved it so that it was perfectly even, spaced apart without any large gap, and even straightened her towel out. Viktor crossed his legs Indian style, and placed his arms on his legs. Whenever Wynter decided to come out of the lake, at least he would be there to wait on her.​

 

[Wynter Mckenna-Styx]

Fully submerged into the water, Wynter ignored the strange feeling in the base of her stomach. She often got it whe she was outside, or alone. Sometimes she knew what it was for, but other times the feeling went unchallenged. She enjoyed water, she always had and she'd been able to swim from an early age thanks to her parents. But she'd taken to water pretty well luckily. She knew some people spent their whole lives not knowing how to swim, but she was glad that would never be a problem for her. Ducking under the water, Wynter dived down to the bottom and grinned at the shiny rocks. She was still very close to the surface because she hadn't wandered too far in. Didn't want to take after a certain other Slytherin. Her mother would disapprove of her in the lake, but Wynter had never paid much attention to what her parents had to say. In all honesty, she'd given up even talking to them since her mother read her mind anyway. Having a legilimens for a parent sure out a dampener on things. The rumours about her head of house aside, Wynter knew what it was to live in the constant knowledge that no white lie would go unpunished. It had to be cheating.

Breaking the surface, Wynter looked up and noticed that her spot was now occupied by another. The ravenclaw boy she often saw around. The one who'd saved her from punishment last year. She wondered when he'd gotten there as she hadn't seen him there when she was in the water. Perhaps he'd arrived whilst she was under the water? Either way, he'd moved some of her things she could tell. Lifting her hair out of her eyes, Wynter stepped out of the water and walked over to him, sitting on her towel, dropping everywhere, Wynter tilted her head at him. He seemed content to stay there so she shrugged and went about ringing out her hair, careful not to splash any on the boy.

[Viktor Styx]

Viktor watched as Wynter dove beneath the surface, as a part of him remembered that some kid drowned in the same lake not too long ago. He too was a Slytherin. Viktor did not want that to happen to Wynter, otherwise he would have issues finding someone to follow that could be entertaining. He did want to find out more about her, but did not know how to initiate it without speaking. And he did not want to speak without knowing whether or not she was worthy to hear him. It was a very complicated battle within his mind. Viktor needed to find out somehow. He could ask his dad to dig for information, but he did not need to do that. He wanted to be able to figure it out on his own. Viktor watched with careful eyes as Wynter surfaced once more. Was she finding something interesting? What could be interesting in the lake? He doubted that there was something fun in the lake unless the body of that prefect was still there. And he was sure that his cousin fished him out. At least, that was what he heard. Viktor waited as Wynter started to head toward him, not very surprised that he was there, waiting on her.

Wynter seemed not to mind that he was there, which brought out a curiosity factor that did not seem to exist within others that he kept an eye on. He followed Lauv Bao for a few days before losing interest quickly. It did not take much for Viktor to lose interest, but once it was captured for more than a month, then it seemed to remain. Viktor continued to stare at the Slytherin, almost telling her to start talking. He had to see if he was wasting his time or not.​
