Emme had sat up in the Ravenclaw common room surrounded by books, notes, and just about everything else. Exams were coming up and Emme really had to get the best of grades. Ravenclaw was competative house and Emme liked to be on top. She liked to show that competative side from time to time.

Realizing that she could take a few minutes to take a break, Emme packed up all her things and pushed them aside. Sneaking down to the kitchens, Emme snatched a few items of food including a bunch of brownies and some cauldron cakes.

Walking out to the lakefront, Emme sat down admiring the view of the lake, as she took out a cauldron cake.

Blake exited through the huge castle doors and took a deep breath of the outside air. After slowly exhaling, he proceeded to walking through the lawns. It was a pretty day, the sun was shining bright in a blue sky. There were also some clouds up there. Passing by the lake, he decided to glance across the bank and see who was there. A good number of people were out, including Emme.

Blake walked up behind Emme and just stood there. It was apparent that his shadow would give him away, though.

Emme watched the lake as it remained rather peaceful and unmoving. Tempted to get up and throw a stone into the lake just to see the ripple effect take place. Though she decided against it. Taking yet another bite of her cauldron cake, Emme noticed that there was a shadow on her now. Either the sun had gone behind a cloud or someone was standing there blocking her sunlight.

Turning around, Emme noticed that it was Blake standing there. "Hey" She said brightly thinking that she hadn't seen him in what felt like forever. "take a seat." She said patting the ground next to her. They didn't see each other nearly enough as Emme would like, not like back in Hogwarts Scotland when they saw each other almost every day. Things were just different here.

"Cauldron Cake?" Emme asked holding out a wrapped cauldron cake "Snatched them from the kitchens" She said laughing a bit.

"Hey," Blake responded back, the smile still spread across his face. He was glad to see her, then again he was always glad to see Emme. It was her after all. Why wouldn't he be glad to see her? He sat down on the ground next to her as he looked out at the lake. He then moved his gaze to Emme when she offered him a cauldron cake. "Don't mind if I do. Thanks," Blake said as he took the cake and unwrapped it. After taking a bite and swallowing it, he continued, "So how are you today?"

Emme smiled "You're welcome. The house elves down there love to give away food" Emme said knowing that it made her snatching them from the kitchen not as sneaky as she wanted it to sound but it didnt' really matter. At least she had gone down to get some food. Taking another bite of her cauldron cake, her gaze remained out at the lake. The peacefulness and motionless feelings that it was throwing off was actually quite calming to this twelve year old Ravenclaw.

"Oh I'm good. Just taking a break from studying for exams" Emme said rolling her eyes at even the talk of studying. It was so boring but she needed to do well. Not only did she need to come out on top for she was in Ravenclaw, her parents really wanted her to do well, Emme wanted herself to do well, and maybe even prefect would be in the future if she pulled off good enough grades. Though the idea of prefect was not the biggest thing in Emme's mind. Others things came first, but the idea did interest her.

"What have you been up to lately. I swear you were hiding from me" Emme said nudging Blake playfully.

Blake resumed his consumption of the cauldron cake as he did the same as Emme, and looked out at the peaceful lake. He had always like lakes, and not just because he loved to swim. He liked them for many different reasons. Suddenly a memory was brought back into his mind. Blake recalled that he and Emme had started going out at the lake at Hogwarts Scotland. Come to think of it, the two of them had made lots of memories at their old school. Hopefully they would make many more at their new school.

Blake came out of his memories when Emme spoke. "...Study? When are exams? I never remember these things.." He shook his head and smiled. Then he responded to Emme's question, "Usual stuff I guess. And why would I ever want to hide from you?"

Emme couldn't help but laugh when Blake asked when exams were. "You are impossible" Emme said teasing of coarse. "Exams are coming up. Don't you pay attention in lessons" She rolled her eyes playfully. Could Blake really not know when exams were? That would be so typical of him. "You need to pass this year" She said "I will not date a boy a in a lower year. Just throwing that out there" Emme said laughing a bit. Of coarse Blake would fail the year but still it was funny just to put it out there.

"Oh and I would never hope that you would hide from me" Emme said "Though it wouldn't be too hard. I haven't been out and about enough" She said thinking how being social hadn't occured too much lately.

Her gaze falling out towards the lake once more she remembered how many memories that lake back home had held. This was home now, Emme had to accept that. "So what are you doing for break?" Emme asked curiously.

"Of course I pay attention in lessons! For the most part..." It was indeed sad that he did not know when exams were. Oh well, he now knew that they were soon and that was good enough. There was a chance that he would possibly get around to studying... eventually. "Not date a boy in a lower year? Well then, I absolutely have to pass." Blake smiled, but was still serious about his last comment.

"Break? Haven't really though about it, to tell the truth."

Emme shook her head slightly a smile upon her face. It was just like Blake "You never change" She said looking over at him. That was a good thing. Emme wasn't sure she wanted him to change or herself for the matter. Another year and they were both in a new school sitting together at the lakefront, Emme didn't want anything else to change.

"Yes you do" Emme agreed when Blake said he had to pass. Emme couldn't imagine Blake failing. Even though he wasn't the most involved in classes he wasn't stupid, no at even close.

Though when Blake questioned the break, Emme let out a small laugh. "Yes break. Do you wait until the last moment for everything?" She asked rolling her eyes playfully. "You need to start thinking about these things, Break is right after the exams and the Yule ball" She said her eyes falling towards him for a moment then back at the lake.

Blake returned the smiled and questioned Emme's comment. "Is that good or bad?" He thought about it to himself. Was it a good thing or a bad thing that he never changed? He knew that for some people change was for the better, but that didn't apply to everyone, did it?

"Nah, not for everything." Blake said in response to Emme's question. As she mentioned the Yule Ball he suddenly remembered something. He had almost forgotten about the Ball. Ok, he had forgotten about he Ball. "So, you want to go the Yule Ball with me?"

"Without a doubt a good thing" Emme said as she moved over closer to Blake and rested her head on his shoulder. "I don't want you to change not even a bit" Emme added smiling brightly as her eyes glanced out towards the lake.

Though she was a bit surprised as Blake suddenly asked her to the ball. "Rather random don't you think" she said picking up her head so that she was looking right into his eyes. Though she couldn't help but smile. "I was afraid that you had forgotten the ball." Emme admitted.

Now Emme had had her dressed picked out for about a month now. It was the perfect princess dress that she always wanted. "But of coarse I'll go with out. I couldn't dream of going with anyone else" Emme said.

Blake was glad when Emme stated that it was a good thing. If she thought it was a good thing, then he would try his best to never change. And especially since she didn't want him to. "Ok then, I won't ever change. I promise. But you can't ever change either, not even one bit."

"Random? Maybe. I just figured I should ask before I forgot." Blake laughed as they locked eyes. Even though, it was the truth. He might not remember to ask if he waited. "Me forget something? C'mon that's ridiculous." He laughed slightly again.

"Good, it's set then." Blake then looked out towards the lake as he put his arm around Emme. "Know what? I'm glad I chose to buy my first wand at Ollivander's."

Emme smiled brightly as Blake said he would never change. Sure he would change as everyone would in age, but really she meant that 'they' would never change. Hopefully no matter how old they get neither of them will change too much. "I promise" Emme said stating that she would never change.

"Well I'm glad you asked. If not I may have to go alone" Emme said faking a very sad look. "Now that would have been so depressing" She added only being able to keep the sad look upon her face for moments before it turned back into her cheerful happy smile.

Leaning towards him just a bit as he placed his arm around her, Emme couldn't help but smile at his statement. "Me Too" She said simply but truthfully. That was one day Emme could not forget anytime soon. Even though it did seem to happen ages a go. "I miss that job though" Emme said stating a random fact as it came to mind.

"Met so many people. I feel so anti social here" she admitted. Her gaze watching the lake as it seemed to stay still, almost as if Emme wanted time to do the same.

Blake nodded his head when Emme promised that she would never change. This made him smile, or it would have, but he was already smiling. "I would never let you go to anything like the Yule Ball alone. What kind of person would I be if I did that?"

Blake was still looking out at the lake. He listened to Emme talk about her old job at Ollivander's Wand Shop. "Like I said before, I'm sure you'll meet plenty of the people here in time. Who wouldn't want to meet you?" He then turned his head just enough to kiss Emme on the cheek.
