This was Aya's favorite spot so far. It was both inside and outside, high above where she could see everything, and the wind whipped around lifted her hair around her head, almost giving the illusion of flying. There was always Quidditch for that, but she wasn't particularly good on a broom, and couldn't seem to keep her balance on one, but this was a good second. There was a bit of a smell from the Owlery, but it was easily ignorable. The best part was that few people decided to come up to the tower. The main traffic was to the Owlery, sending messages off to loved ones (which she herself had done once already), but they generally stayed away from the rest of the nooks and crannies. It was nice to have it to herself.
That isn't to say she didn't like the people she had met. To the contrary, she'd already made a few friends, something her mother was excited about. But sometimes she needed to be by herself, to refocus on herself and make sure nothing was slipping. Her classes were going well, and her writing had improved if anything since she'd been at the magical school.
But in that moment, Aya started to long for some company. Her thoughts had turned to her father, and as much as she tried to pull them away from him it was hard not to when she was standing in the school that he himself had gone too, looking at a view he probably looked at as well. She sighed deeply and turned around, deciding to head back to her common room and try and find Jarek or maybe to the grounds and find someone else. Only she was rapidly stopped as she turned around, nearly running into someone else. "Sorry," she said quickly, flashing a brief apologetic smile.
