Claire had never left the farm before. She had never been to the big city, and the grocery store was the closet thing to a shopping mall she had been. All her life her parents had bought things for her without her being exposed to the fast paced life style of the city; but now, she was seeing it. She was seeing it all. As if the stress of being somewhere new, seeing things she had never seen before, wasn't enough, she was seeing it all with this thing called magic. This thing that she had only ever heard of in fairy tails, or books of other sorts. Claire had this feeling of being totally overwhelmed as she watched all the people (who were mostly in robes) pass by her. She had begged her father to let her go alone earlier, and now she wished that he hadn't let her. It really was all quite confusing.

When she looked to her left, she saw an ice cream parlor. She thought it might be nice to stop in for a bite, but after a very tall man and a very short, almost creature-looking, woman walked out. Claire was not ready to see what else was in there. She almost hoped this place would have talking horses. What if all the animals talked. it was truly an exciting thought for the young eleven year old girl. she wondered if it was possible to turn into animals. Become them and speak with them. If there was anything that Claire wanted to learn, it was how to speak with animals. Animals were her life back on the farm, and they'd be her life here. Nothing had changed but where she was living; and the fact that she was now magical.

Claire continued to walk through this strange new place, and saw a building called 'Ollivander's Wand Shop'. Once again, Claire was tempted to go in, but she decided not to. She was actually just looking around, identifying paces for when she would need to get school supplies. And Claire knew she would need school supplies, after all, she had never been to a magic institute. She wanted to firstly, find out where the bank was. however, and Claire had thought about this for the past thirty minutes while wandering around. She knew she had to find someone whom was a little less terrifying. And she thought she saw him standing over there. He was a boy a little taller than her and about her age; or at least she guessed he was about her age. Claire approached him tentatively. 'What are ya afraid of; he's just a person?' She asked herself mentally.

She tapped him on the shoulder and said, in her heavy southern accent, "Hey! Ya reckon you can help me find the bank? is it round here?" She smiled sweetly at him, her black hair falling neatly over her shoulders covering her black spaghetti straps She put her hands in her pockets nonchalantly and waited for the boy to turn around and help. Claire was innocent in that way, feeling as if everyone was as kindhearted as she was. unfortunately, that was not always true
