A young girl sat at the park bench of Obsidian Harbor, as the wind blew pass her white face, she looked serious face at the children playing at the monkey bars with their parents. The young girl sat back, seeing the children play with their parents, Leslie became jealous. Why does her parents have to die? that's the question she do normally asked to her older sister, Jaden. Her sister is the only one she got, plus her Aunt who took them.

Bored of looking at the people at the park, Leslie decided to read a book that she never finished because of her parents and brother's funeral and moving as well. She took it out from her shoulder bag and started to read silently, ignoring the laugh and giggling of the children that where at the park.

Ryuuji was at a park in the obsidian harbour, he got nothing to do at hi shouse at all. No, scratch that, he HAD lots to do, his father had just gotten home and was already forcing him to study entrepreneurship, he was expected to continue their family business after all. Not that he mind it, he had already accepted that fact, however, he is still just a child, he wanted to have fun too.

Juggling his soccer ball from his foot, to his thigh, to his chest and to his head, Ryuuji contemplated about his father's wish. Yes, he adore his father, but still, he had his own dreams too. He actually wanted to be a professional athlete, not a businessman, but he had no choice. Being in deep thought, Ryuuji lost his concentration and his soccer ball came flying away from his towards a bench where a girl was reading. Unsure whether he had hit her or not, Ryuuji quickly run towards the girl. "Sorry, did I hit you or something?" He asked, running a hand through his jet black hair.

Reading as if nothing is happening around her, a semi hard object hit her in the head, she knows its semi because it bounces off her head. Her head was throbbing like hell, "Oh my god! that hurts." She shouted, dropping her book at the ground and touching the side of her head. Who could be the one that threw an object at her without her insulting someone. When a voice appeared in nowhere asking if she is alright, and it popped to her head that it was the person who threw the ball at her.

Leslie stood up, wiggling a bit at the impact of the object, "What did I do to you to threw a ball at me?" She asked angrily, she didn't wait for the guy's answer, Leslie roamed at her bag to find her handkerchief. She was lucky that it is snowing everywhere, Leslie took a hand full of snow and put it on her handkerchief. "Are you even paying attention on who to throw the freaking ball?" Asked Leslie and put her handkerchief full of snow in the side of her damage head.

If they were in an anime,Ryuuji would have sweat dropped at the girl's reaction. Surely she wouldn't think that he did that on purpose would she? He didn't really know what to say so he just watched as she took out her handkerchief and put some snow into it, probably to ease the pain. "Sorry, I didn't really mean to hit you or anything.. I'm not that stupid to do such thing.." He said, bowing a little o show that he was sincere in his apologies. He had that habit, probably acquired at his hometown, whenever he would introduce himself, whenever he would say thank you, when ever he would apologize, he would bow a little. "

OOCOut of Character:
sorry, this post is kind of lame.. :D

Leslie stopped talking when she saw sincerity at the guy in front of her, but her was like a gigantic heart that throbs. "Next time, pick a person that done bad things to you, not an innocent girl who was just reading a book." She told him calmly, she has no time to argue or have fight about. Leslie took a sit again and placed her book back to her bag, Leslie is the girl who was always been the laughing stock, at pre-school and elementary and she does not like it.

That is why she has been very mean to people who had been mean to her on her childhood days. Leslie damp the cloth into her head gently, not wanting a trip to the hospital later on when her Aunt sees this. Aunt Eliza loves her nieces and will do everything for them not to get hurt, "And stop bowing, where not in Japan or China or even Korea. I just want a simple apologize that's all." Her head was getting better the minute the cold touches it, lucky her it is not some kind of very hard object.
OOCOut of Character:
Nah, its fine.

Ryuuji chuckled at the girl's response, sure enough, she was right. "Hmm.. now that you had said it.. I figure I'd do that.. Thank you for that great idea.." He said, laughing a little as a sadistic thought crossed his mind. Sure enough, he was kind, yet, he's still a child who loves to prank others, be it a kid, or an adult.

Ryuuji watched as the girl continued to damp or put a cold compress to her head and he felt a little guilty. He didn't really mean to hurt her in any way, yet, because of his stupidity for not focusing, eh had somehow managed to do it. "Sorry about that really, can I do something to ease the pain?" He asked, quite unsure of what he should do. "I'm Japanese see.. so, well, it's a habit of mine to do the bowing thing.." He then added, smiling gently at the girl.

She rolled her eyes at the guy, her day would not get any worst? but at the same time she felt like a victim rather than the suspect. Leslie have had enough of being the suspect but as of now, she will not get revenge at all. "Really? ... You are going to do something to ease the pain? ... And what is that? may I ask?" Leslie asked the guy, a little smile formed her lips. But she knows his Asian, it is not obvious with his eyes and hair.

"And I see you play soccer? ..." She looked at the ball that have cause the accident, Leslie is not a fan of kicking balls but she has some skills in it. Her mother try-out her for the little league soccer and played for her elementary. Leslie looked up again, the throbbing her head was slightly going away. "Next time we see each other, you better be not playing basketball because that ball is much harder than a soccer ball." She chuckled as her own statement.

Ryuuji raised an eyebrow as the girl inquired about what he had said, surely, he said that he would do something to make up for him hitting her unintentionally, but actually, he had no idea what it is. "eto..anything at all? Just not the ridiculous ones though... I'm already fed up with it.." He said to her, chuckling nervously. Every time he makes a mistake or had wronged his sister, she would usually have him to do laps around their house or make him do things on her favor. Not that he mind the lap thing, but her other requests were so ridiculous that it almost annoys him.

Ryuuji then looked at where the girl was looking, his soccer ball was the object of her attention it seems. "Yes, I do play some.." He replied, playing with the ball once again but abruptly stopping when he remembered what had happened earlier. "Basketball? I do play some a few years ago, and I'm planning to play it again, but right now, I'm focused with soccer.." He added, smiling as he watched the girl chuckle at what she had said on her own.

Leslie thought of something that the guy can do for her, she then took out her book again, "Okay, its not that very lame but can you read the Chapter six for this book?" Leslie asked the guy, the book was her favorite, Alice in Wonderland. For her it was a lame favor but she really like the story and wanted to finish it. "You can sit beside me ... If you want though, I'm Leslie by the way and I officially forgive you of what you have done." She told the guy who she wanted to know the name.

Knowing that the guy plays basketball too, Leslie was impress, she still does not know if her boyfriend plays anything or even plays Quidditch. Leslie on the other hand will try to get in at the Cheerleading Squad of the school she was going into. "Do you play it in school? I played it in my elementary but I'm quitting as I am going to this wizarding school and I was hoping to get into the cheerleading." She was always fascinated with the routine they do and she can always do best than the other girls do.

"Chapter 6? Alright then, if that makes you feel a little better.." Ryuuji said, opening the book as he sat next to her. As he did so, he scanned the pages of the book, looking for the heading that states the said chapter. Alice in Wonderland, it was a rather interesting book, full of metaphors, play on words, logics, it's not really a simple book created to please a child, but rather, one that stimulates the mind. "This one had a lot of literary nonsense ne? It makes it more interesting.." He said, more to himself than to the girl. "I'll start now, Pig and Pepper, For a minute or two she stood looking at the house, and wondering what to do next, when suddenly a footman in livery came running out of the wood —(she considered him to be a footman because he was in livery: otherwise, judging by his face only, she would have called him a fish)— and rapped loudly at the door with his knuckles. It was opened by another footman in livery, with a round face, and large eyes like a frog; and both footmen, Alice noticed, had powdered hair that curled all over their heads. She felt very curious to know what it was all about, and crept a little way out of the wood to listen. ....." He read, stopping as she stated her name. "My name's Ryuuji." He said simply, continuing to read once again.

"Play it in school? Well, I'm not really a part of any clubs, there are lots of offers but I had to refuse all of them, my father doesn't really like it when I'm focused on sports, saying that I should focus more on my studies, nevertheless, I do participate on their club practices, some sort of a guest player..." He said, smiling gently as he remembered the familiar rush of adrenaline that runs through his entire system as he played with the other students back at his old school. Being on the field excites him and makes him feel good, making him feel really alive.

As the guy took the book and sat beside her, Leslie on the other hand lean against the guy's shoulder and hope he does not mind it because of her head being heavy at the moment. The guy read the book, it was actually funny to her, the story on the this chapter has some kind of funny things like the footman and other things. She then heard the guy named Ryuuji told his name to her and continued still on reading the book after. After the short chapter ended, her head was still on the same spot.

Then Ryuuji told him about his sports life and what his dad told him not do to and what to do. Even though she is adopted, her parents are very supportive at her even on her sports life. "I guess I am lucky to have such supportive parents then." She joke on her weak voice. Leslie does not care what people who knew that she has a boyfriend might think of what her position right now. His not just here to comfort her, she just lost her parents and needed someone right now.

Ryuuji stiffened a bit as he felt the girl lean on his shoulder, nevertheless, after just a few seconds, he had relaxed. It's not like it's bad after all, it's just some sort of friendly and comforting gesture. Casting a glance on her, Ryuuji continued to read the book, pausing to take a breath, and finally, closing the book shut after he's done.

After he's done reading, Ryuuji didn't move a bit, knowing that the girl was still leaning on him. Turning his head a little to look at her when she said how lucky she was for having supportive parents, Ryuuji mustered a weak but genuine smile. "My mother's a bit supportive of me though, though she wouldn't really admit it, I mean, funny as it was, my mother's a poker face..." He said with a light laugh, looking up at the clear blue sky above them.

Leslie chuckled softly as Ryuuji explained her mother being a poker face and supporting him but some parents are like that. She hope that her biological parents are happy for her even though they are dead, Leslie wanted to know if she has her real family still alive though, like a grandparents or even Aunts and Uncles. "Do you think my real parents are very supportive as well? .. I mean they are dead but my mother said to me that they might be happy for me." She asked Ryuuji while looking at the children playing at the swings, monkey bars and carousel.

Leslie noticed she is being dramatic again, she should have been awarded as a Drama Queen or something along with that. "Anyways, thanks for reading that book." She told Ryuuji and sat up not leaning against him anymore, she took the book from him and put it back to her bag.

"I don't know, since they were not here, we really can't be sure about that.." Ryuuji said bluntly. It was the truth though, since the girl's real parents were dead, they really cannot know what they would think or do to her. "Anyhow, it's up to you, whether you would think that they'll be happy for you or not. Even so, you must go on with life and do what you can to make yourself believe that they really are happy for you in case that they were still alive..." He added, looking at were she's looking. He then smiled a little, wondering how those little kids could play like they have no worry. He then looked at her as he felt the weight off him. "No need to thank me though, I enjoyed reading it anyway.." He said to her, stretching a little as he did so.

Leslie listened at Ryuuji's own opinion about her real parents, she like Ryuuji because he tells the truth and is being true to himself as well. She smiled slightly and turned back to Ryuuji, "Can I offer you some lunch?" Leslie asked him energetic again. Although the bump on her head was still there, she stood up with her bag already on her should, she lend her hand to him to help him stand up. "I forgot to ask ... What school are you going into?" She added at the lunch question, if the guy is going to study at HNZ, then they will meet everyday.

"Lunch? Sure, I'll pay for it though, think of it as a compensation for what I've done to you..." Ryuuji said with a heartfelt laugh, reaching out for Leslie's hand and standing up as well just like she did, he then put his soccer ball back at his bag so as to not forget about it. "Where should we eat?" He then asked with a grin, feeling rather comfortable around this newly found friend. "Believe me or not, I'm going to attend HNZ, ever heard of it?" He said casually, as if talking about magic was normal for the likes of them.

Ryuuji took her hand to stand up and said that he will pay for lunch, she on the other hand was hesitating. The guy all ready read her the book and that was enough for her. "I think is it too much, maybe I should pay the lunch." She told him, her parents use to tell her that if you already ask for one favor do not ask for another one. Hands still tucked at his hand, Ryuuji asked where should they eat. "Leaky Cauldron is the only place I know that sells lunch and dinner." She suggested and started to walk with him until she heard HNZ along the lines when he said what school his going. "I am such a lucky person, I am accepted at that school, I just got the letter for it." Leslie told Ryuuji.

Ryuuji shook his head in disagreement, he wouldn't let the girl pay for their lunch. "I insist, my mother always tell me that it is inappropriate for a boy to let a girl pay for what he would eat... It's a man's job to do that..." He said with a gentle smile, his hair dancing with the wind as it blew. He then nodded as he followed her towards the place where they would eat. He then looked at her abruptly as she said that she was actually accepted to the same school as hers. "For real! That's really great Leslie.. real great.." He said, happy that he had met someone who would be going to the same school as him.

Leslie pouted as Ryuuji argue with the pay lunch thingy -Well, it was not an argument but it is like an argument- for Leslie, it is too much but she gave up after. "Okay, you are stubborn like my sister, I will let you." She chuckled at him, the very first guy who made her laugh was Ryuuji. Leslie was disappointed that it was not Nick who made her laugh, instead, it was a friend. "You think? cause we may not be in the same house. But we can still see each other though." She informed him as they walked pass by the stores. They look like a cute couple but in her mind they are just good friends.

Ryuuji laughed along with Leslie as she commented on how stubborn he was. "I have heard that lots of times before, I really am hard headed, and I proud of it..." He said, chuckling a little bit more. His sister had often told him that he was really getting on her nerves, especially when he would insist that he was right, or that what he would do is better than her idea, that was true though. And besides, Ryuuji was really goal-driven, whenever he wanted to achieve one thing, he'll do everything to get that. Looking at Leslie, Ryuuji cannot help but smile, she looks adorable while laughing after all. "Probably, maybe we'll still have the same classes even though we'll be on different houses..." He said with a shrug, looking around the area, sometimes stopping to check the displays on the stores.
