Hayden Samuel Lavish

MEANING:

Hayden: From an English surname which was derived from place names meaning either "hay valley" or "hay hill", derived from Old English heg "hay" and denu "valley" or dun "hill".

Samuel: From the Hebrew name שְׁמוּאֵל (Shemu'el) which could mean either "name of God" or "God has heard". As told in the Books of Samuel in the Old Testament, Samuel was the last of the ruling judges. James met his future wife while traveling Europe during the summer after his fifth year, after a summer romance they parted ways not expecting to see each other again. They met by chance while they were both living in Los Angeles years after graduating school and began dating, eventually marrying.

Sarah Nicole Lavish (nee. Williamson): Sarah is a British born witch born to two magical parents. She attended Hogwarts Scotland, where she was sorted into Gryffindor. She was an accomplished dueler and potioneer. Upon graduating she began training as a healer at St. Mungos. Once her training was complete, she moved to Los Angeles where she specialised as a healer working with potion mishaps and burns. Sarah met the man who would be her future husband while travelling in Europe during the summer after her fourth year. She and James dated during the summer and travelled together but parted when both had to return to school, neither expected to see each other again. They encountered each other again years later while they were both living in Los Angeles and after dating they married, eventually having four children.

BIOGRAPHY:

Hayden was born in Los Angeles County Hospital and was raised in a privileged environment. He is the eldest of four children. Hayden grew up a fan of Quidditch which was unusual among his family, as his father felt more at home in the muggle world and favoured muggle sports, something that Gwen and Zeke shared. Caspian is the only one of Hayden’s siblings that share his love of the magical sport.

Hayden’s parents opted to send their children to Hogwarts New Zealand rather than either of the schools attended. He was sorted into Slytherin house.

Hayden’s biggest love is Quidditch, he loves the feeling of flying through the and feels most confident when on a broom. He also enjoys potions and the precise nature of the subject and enjoys watching subsequent mishaps of his fellow students.

Hayden’s greatest dislike is people. There are very few people he tolerates as most people he meets annoy him. He also has a strong dislike of any public displays of affection.

Hayden was a little nervous. He didn't like being nervous, it was unusual for him but there was an expectation that at least one of the Lavish children would be sorted into Ravenclaw like every magical child had on their fathers side for as far back as anyone could remember, as the eldest the pressure was on Hayden to be that one. Personally he wasn't bothered where he ended up, he was confident he could achieve everything he wanted no matter what house he was sorted into. He stood along with the other first years and listened to them discuss their hopes about where they will end up. Hayden was too nervous to talk to any of them.

Ignoring everyone else, Hayden walked into the Great hall and down all the way to the front and waited for the Professor to begin the sorting ceremony. One by one students were called up to the stool and had the hat placed on their head. Hayden watched as students went before him and were sorted, some were happy and some were not. But soon it was his turn, "Lavish, Hayden," Hayden looked around at the students at his side and made his way up to the stool and waited to see his fate.
