[Dannii Merrythought]

Dannii was walking down Brightstone Village with a picture in her hand. It was a picture of her sister, the one she was going to find today no matter what. Her aunt had taken a turn for the worse and Dannii couldn't stay with her anymore. She asked a few people if they knew where she could find Aurora Merrythought. They pointed her to a store called melodys beauty salon. She walked up to the store and looked in the front window to see if she could get a look inside and she if she was there.

Alas, Aurora was relieved it was the summer break at Hogwarts New Zealand, and after the recent departure of the old head of the astronomy department, Professor Denali Cross, she hadn't really been feeling that great, after all she had the entire seven years to teach now, but she was determined to get through with them all. She was sitting down in her shop, that was going to be her home for the next few months. She looked up to take a sip of the cup of tea she had in front of her when she saw a young girl looking in the window, she thought she might be lost. Aurora stood up and walked over to the door and opened "Are you ok? Come in" she smiled welcomingly.

Dannii smiled as her sister came out and asked her to come in "Thank-you" She said. Dannii took a step into the shop and looked around everywhere there was make-up and beauty products. "May we please speak... alone?" Dannii asked looking over to some preppy girls who were looking at her like she was a freak. She realised they were looking at her clothes and she glared at them "you got a problem with the way i dress?" she hissed. They quickly went back to there shopping.

Aurora looked rather shocked as a group of girls were ganging up on the one "Excuse me, but if you are going to going to be rude and anti social you can get the hell out of here!" she exclaimed at them. "Ye-Yes.. of course" she smiled walking into the back room bidding the girl to follow her.

Dannii followed the girl into the back room "I've got some bad news, you may want to sit down" She said in a sad tone. "Your parents have died.... actually OUR parents have died." she said emphisizing on the word our. Dannii felt a few tears pooling in her eyes as she said it. She missed her mom and dad terriably espically now that she was starting her first year at Hogwarts, she wished they were here so they could tell her what to do.

"What? Wait!" she stammered, she didn't understand. "Who are you? You said 'OUR' parents" Aurora stated, trying to keep herself together. "How do you know this?" she said, not knowing what to say.

 

[Dannii Merrythought]

"I'm your sister Dannii Merrythought" She replied simply tears now streaking down her face smearing her eye liner and mascara. "Our parents were killed by Death Eaters and I was lucky to escape, I've been living with our great aunt but she's fallen ill, and I have no place to go" Dannii said. "You don't have to believe me" she added hanging her head. She rubbed her eyes with her fists hoping to stop the tears but they wouldn't stop.

"Oh my god... I knew I shouldn't of gone to America" her American accent coming through very strongly. She wiped a few tears from her eyes, it seemed to be a very sentimental moment. "Mum always used to say she would call her second child Dannii if it was a girl" she said with a straight smile. "Aw. Come here" she stated, she had only seen Dannii for a few minutes, yet it seemed Aurora had known her for a life time, she put her arm around her and spoke "you goin to Hogwarts after the holidays?" she asked, she looked about the right age, Aurora really wanted to bond with Dannii.

Dannii felt Aurora put her arms around her and Dannii did the same "Yes" Dannii replied when she asked if she was going to Hogwarts. Dannii was so happy that she had accepted her, there had always been the fear that she wouldn't. "Thank-you" Dannii mumbled after a bit.

"Well, I guess were sisters right? We gotta look out for each other, oh wow you are?" she smiled. "I might see you in some of lessons" she added. "So erm, how's Aunt Muriel doing?" she asked, remembering Dannii mentioned she was unwell, she didn't want to ponder on the thought of their parents for to long.

Dannii let go of Aurora "She's not great, she can take care of her self, but I'm worried" Dannii said with a frown. She really didn't want to leave Aunt Muriel by her self, but Danniii didn't know anything about taking care of others, espically when there sick.

 

[Aurora Merrythought]

"Well, i'll be sure to send someone over, in the mean time you will have to come and live with me, I suppose, and that means going back to... Tranquillity Castle [IMAGE]... oh dear god" she sighed. "Erm. Do you have any idea what house your going to be in?" she asked.

 

[Dannii Merrythought]

Dannii smiled, "that sounds like a nice place" Dannii replied. When she asked what house she would be in Dannii's smile disapeared "I'm in Hufflepuff, just like the rest of our family" she said in an emotionless voice. wussypuff, unlike my friends who are in Gryffindor and Slytherin she thought bitterly. "why? would it be an issue if i wasnt?" she asked.

 

[Aurora Merrythought]

"No, not at all, it would be nice to have a change in tradition, would it not?" she exclaimed, smiling. "Now, have you got your bags packed anywhere?" she asked.

 

[Dannii Merrythought]

"yeah, I've got them at aunt Muriel's all packed up" she replied. She had a backpack of her more personal things on her back right now, including her sketch book, an old photo album and her stuffed badger. "where id Tranquillity Castle?" Dannii asked interested.

 

[Aurora Merrythought]

"It's in a place called Milford Sound, only viewable to wizards and witches" she smiled. "We will be safe there" she added. "Now we had better go get your bags" she added.

"cool" Dannii replied, great, another snob pureblood, but shes my sister, so she can't be all bad Dannii thought with a small smile. "yes, we should" Dannii added. She started to walk out of the back room and into the store again, the girls were there again and Dannii glared at them "I used to be like you, now I actually have a life" she stated with a flick of her hair. She started looking around at what her sister sold here. She went over to the hair dye section, wow, i wonder what my hair would look like pink she thought with a smirk.
