It wasn't unusual for Lyra to skip breakfast most mornings. She had a nasty habit of hitting snooze on her alarm too many times which caused her to be late much too often. Luckily, Lyra never spent too much time getting ready in the mornings unless it was for a special occasion like one of the school dances. Going to work at her mum's shop was definitely not one of those occasions. So naturally, around noon, Lyra's stomach was growling as loudly as a tiger. Most days, Lyra tried to wait to eat with James when they could take a break together when the crowd died down. Unfortunately, today would not be one of those days. The Gryffindor girl told Kiera she was leaving to go get food, offering to bring something back. Her mother was in the habit of skipping lunch unless Lyra made her take a break to eat. The brunette woman waved her off, but Lyra knew she would grab something for her mum anyways.
It was cold outside as Lyra shrugged her coat on over her casual dress and leggings. The brunette girl walked down the cobblestone path to the Three Broomsticks. It was the best option for lunch at this time of day, and it would be warm inside. Lyra pushed the door open and removed her coat. The fire was blazing in the fireplace, and the sixteen year old chose a seat at an empty booth nearby as the waitress rushed over to hand her a menu. Lyra quickly ordered her usual before pulling out a book from her back to read.
