Veronica wandered through Brightstone village which was a familiar place thanks to her new friend Vanessa who had shown her around last time. Today, Veronica was here again to wander, meet people and buy herself a few things that she needed.

She was walking with two bags of shopping and a chocolate smoothie in her hand which she was slowly sipping. She still had to get few candies and some quills before she started exploring the outskirts of brightstone and the forest.

Shaylah had her jacket hood up and her hands were in her trackie pockets. It was a warm day but she wasn't exactly the kind of person to want to be seen. Especially now that she'd broken up with Markov. The last person she wanted to be seen by was him. He had been a jealous pig the last time she had seen him and she didn't want a repeat of that.
Shaylah turned a corner and almost walked into a blonde girl who looked older and she was. "Hey, watch where you're going. What are you blind or something?!" She scowled up at the girl. Shaylah may have been short but she had won in fights with people twice her size.

Veronica was singing one of her favorite tracks in her head and wasn't concentrating much on where she was headed. Just at the end of the main street she realised that someone else was apparently not focused as well because she almost walked into a girl who looked a little younger than her. Like all the other kids of around here she took it this girl attended the local school. However like the previous friend she had made, Vanessa, this girl wasn't seeming nice.

Veronica wasn't a nice one as well and she had handled many hot tempered younger and older girls than herself and given them a fine lesson. "Why don't you watch where you are going?" Veronica fired back. "If you weren't so blind yourself you wouldn't have crossed my path" she said to the girl who was scowling at her.

Shaylah rolled her eyes. "Since when was this your path?! I have more right to be here than you do." Shaylah didn't remember seeing her around the school and that meant she wasn't a Slytherin. Shaylah had made sure she knew the faces of all of the Slytherins. That way, she knew who was decent and who was worthless. "Now move out the way." She looked the girl up and down and couldn't help but think she looked like a complete and utter wimp. There was no muscle anywhere on her body. It was just skin and bones. If Shay had to fight her then it would be one of the easiest fights in her life.

"This path belongs to me the same way as it does to anyone else unless you own this place which obviously you don't" Veronica said staring straight at the girl's face. Whoever she was, she did think of herself as a celebrity but Veronica was soon going to change that. She didn't care if she would have to use magic for that but she would teach her a lesson. "I ain't moving anywhere" she said standing rooted to the spot.

She knew very well that the girl wouldn't use magic or she would be punished by the law. As for Veronica, she didn't care. "Don't have manners, do you?"she questioned as her hands tightened around her wand in her pocket. "Guess I will just have to teach you some"

Shaylah frowned as a small laugh ecaped her lips. "Who said I didn't own this place?? For all you know, I could. My dad's easily rich enough." Shaylah decided not to mention the fact that her dad was in azkaban and all of his fortunes were locked away in gringotts and she wasn't allowed it until she left school. In Shay's opinion, that sucked. It meant she had to keep sending letters to her mum asking for more money or for her to buy something and send it in. It just took longer and was more boring.

Shaylah shrugged when the girl mentioned that she had no manners. "Why the hell would I want manners. People with manners are way to annoying. It's all please this and thank you that. Never gonna happen. That's all I'm going to say." Then Shay laughed. She couldn't stop herself. This girl obviously didn't know who she was dealing with. "You'll teach me?! You wouldn't be able to teach my brother his ABC."

"Did I ask about your father's wealth status?"she asked narrowing her eyes at the girl. She hated those people who boasted about their father's wealth especially now since her own father was dead. Her father did own a motel and a bar in a small village in Bulgaria but she had no idea what was happening to the property after his death and thanks to Dympna it didn't look like she had a chance to get back there soon.

Veronica rolled her eyes as the girl said that she didn't want manners. She could judge by some aspect in the girl that she was tom-boyish and although Veronica's wand power was brilliant her physical strength was negligible and if the girl would punch her she could probably faint. "I can teach him ABC but as I am not a servant or a teacher I wouldn't do it" she said with a smirk. Somehow this girl's attitude was like Veronica and she wondered if they could cut out the fight and become friends. "Okay, I'm sorry for not seeing where I walked" she said with a grin. "See that was easy. We'd better stop fighting before my mother comes around to check on me" she told her.

Shaylah rolled her eyes. This girl may not have asked but Shay was saying how it was possible for her to own the path. It wasn't hard to understand that.
Shay frowned in confusion when the girl said sorry. It was odd for people to say sorry before she hit them. Usually they refused until she hit them so hard that they begged her to stop. "O...k. That was different." Shay shrugged and eased off on the girl. She obviously had an attitude and Shay liked that about her. "My mum knows I fight and she doesn't care. She actually encourages me to fight people who are un worthy." Shaylah held her hand out to the girl. "I'm Shaylah. Shaylah Rouge." She hp[ed this girl wasn't a mudblood.

Veronica smiled as she watched the girl's reaction. "Yes it was" she said with a chuckle. It was weird since they were fighting a minute ago and now they were calm and cool. Veronica was impressed with the girl's mother's attitude. She wished Dympna felt the same way. She shook Shaylah's hand and introduced herself "I'm Veronica White" Like all other teenagers she met in NewZealand she was sure that Shaylah attended Hogwarts.

"I'm from Dumstrang just came here to spend the holidays with my mother" she told Shaylah.

Shay smiled slightly. "My ex used to go there. He's moved to Salem now. I'm kinda starting to miss him. Weird when I broke up with him." Shay hadn't known that the Kalforovichs had moved to Salem until Ryker had transferred to Hogwarts and told her. Now she wished she could have said bye. It was going to be at least two years before she would be able to see him again. "I go to Hogwarts New Zealand. I'm in Slytherin." Shaylah loved being a Slytherin and wouldn't ever change it. It was a family thing and her family were more important to her than anyone else.

((Sorry it's taking so long to reply. I'm in my music class. I'm going to be in IT in a minute so it should be faster replies))

(totally okay :D )

Veronica nodded when Shaylah said that his ex went to Dumstrang. Somehow it would have been weird if she wouldn't have been allowed to join Dumstrang. Maybe then Zac and her would have broken up because she for once didn't believe in long distance relationships. But now that they were together nothing could break them apart.

"I heard Slytherin is a cool house" she said with a smile. She had only heard about Gryffindor and Slytherin and what one required to be in those houses. "Do you get to pick your house or ?" she asked wondering how the pupils were sorted.

Shaylah shook her head. "No. When we first go to the school, we get a hat put on our head and the hat tells us what house we're best suited for. It reads our mind to see what we're like so it knows what our personality is like. Then it can see where we will succeed the most." Shay liked the sorting hat as it had put her in the house she had wanted to get in but some people hated it because they were put in stupid houses that they hated. It made Shay laugh when she watched the faces of first years when they realised they were put in a cr@ppy house. She loved watching people get put through pain and that may have been minor pain but it was pain all the same.

"Wow that's a cool hat" she said after hearing Shaylah talk about the hat. "Must be very magical" she said thoughtfully. Shaylah seemed like a cool girl when her temper was controlled. "Do you want to show me where we can grab a butterbeer?"she asked wondering if Shaylah would join her for a while.

Shaylah shrugged. "Yeah, it's been alive for so many years. It must be like eight hundred years old or something like that." Shay looked around, working out which way the three broomsticks was. "Yeah, there's a place this way. She started walking in the direction of the pub, wondering whether Veronica would follow.

She followed Shaylah excited to taste butterbeer. "So what year are you in?"she asked her. "I am in fifth year in Durmstrang. And my hometown is in Rila Mountains, Bulgaria but I'll be living with my mom over here for a while" she told her with a smile wondering if the girl spent her holidays in New Zealand or else where,

Shaylah grinned. "I'm a third year at Hogwarts New Zealand." Shay opened the door to the pub and walked over to the bar, ordering two butterbeers before sitting down at a table by the fire. "I lived in Fort William, in Scotland, for the first ten years of my life and then I moved here with my dad. Now he's in azkaban and my mum lives in Scotland so I live at the half way house." Shay had never wanted to go back to Scotland. There were too many memories. Plus, it would mean going to Hogwarts Scotland.

"Ow..okay" she said after a second. Was her mother running something similar? Whatever Dympna was running she was doing a lot of bad things to the kids there. "Thanks" she said as she accepted the butterbeer and took a sip. It was warm and nice. "Its cool" she said with a smile. "So..how is this half way house?"

Shaylah shrugged at Veronica's question. Shay didn't like the half way house much but she either had to stay there or move to Scotland so she didn't really have much of a choice. "It's OK, I suppose. It's my only option really so I have to put up with it. It's not exactly hell, it's just that I'm used to living in a massive house where everything gets cleaned spotless by a maid that my dad hired and then I end up in that place and suddenly my house feels so much bigger."
