Daintree was a little frustrated with the exam season, it was just dull, the professors were making it seem like the exams were the most important thing that they had, when he knew that it really wouldn't be. The teen was pretty bored of the others all studying, of watching people study. He had come outside, the winter sun didn't have much heat but he was wrapped up enough, and he was enjoying the little amount of it left. The slytherin had brought out a frisbee, but he was throwing it up in the air and catching when it came back down. The slytherin was bored and hopeful that someone might want to throw this frisbee around with him. Dain knew that he could've reached out to someone but he wasn't interested in seeming desperate to his friends about being quite bored by it all.

Eric tended to spend as much time as he could away from the common room, so he could avoid his dorm mates and other annoying Gryffindors. But it wasn't like there weren't annoying people in other houses, and he was reminded of that as he spotted Daintree throwing a frisbee around near the lake. At first, Eric was determined to ignore him, but as the frisbee drifted closer to him, he couldn't help himself. He snatched it out of the air, giving Daintree a challenging look. "This yours?" He asked him, holding it up as if he didn't know.

Daintree watched as the frisbee he had thrown up in the air was caught by someone else, and he rolled his eyes lightly at him. ”You know it’s mine, but if you want it, have it,” Daintree had fought with Eric in first year, he’d always been more friends with Sully and Noel whom he knew had problems with Eric, but really since then Daintree hadn’t cared much about him. He always made sure to invite him to things, and at the beginning of the term he’d turned up to play rugby. ”Frisbees aren’t expensive, and honestly they’re more fun to throw around, so we could have a little competition?” Daintree wouldn’t fight Eric now, he didn’t want to get into unnecessary trouble, and it would just be better to play something, beat him in a winning a game sense.

Eric rolled his eyes at Daintree's words. Was he pretending to be nice all of a sudden? He'd already shown Eric his true colors, he knew Daintree was against him like most of his classmates. It annoyed him a little as the boy said they weren't expensive, like he was rubbing in that he had more than Eric. Did he remember how upset Eric had gotten at the figurines in their first year? He probably knew Eric didn't have many things for himself. "I don't need your trash, Daintree." He said, throwing the frisbee at him hard, hoping to hit him.

Daintree rolled his eyes at the other boy, clearly he hadn’t gotten over what had happened in first year, though from what he’d noticed about the boy that was hardly surprising. What was a little surprising was the frisbee hitting him and as hard as a fisbee could hit him. ”What the hell Eric,” he said in annoyance, ”Then why did you take it in the first place?” he was sure that it had been to get a rise out of him, but Dain just didn’t care that much about the frisbee for that to happen. So this was the alternative. Daintree really didn’t care for it.

Eric laughed as the frisbee hit Daintree, he had expected the guy to at least dodge. "What? Not my fault you can't catch." He said, grinning at the Slytherin. "And you threw it in my direction, so I caught it." He told him, his tone like he was stupid. "Which is what you do with a frisbee, genius." He said, rolling his eyes. There was something almost comforting in antagonizing the Slytherin like this, it felt familiar. He knew the boy already thought he was awful, so he didn't see the point in pretending to be anything else. Besides, it had been very satisfying to hit him with the frisbee.

Daintree rolled his eyes again, he felt like the boy was trying to get a rise out of him, and Dain hated that he was rising up to it. He couldn’t even half stop it. ”Fine then,” daintree threw it back at Eric, he didn’t want to get into a fight with him, they were too close to the end of term, Daintree had worked too hard all year to be let down now at the end of all things. He knew it wasn’t like he could do much more damage that Eric had done to him, but he didn’t care.

Eric wanted to get a rise out of Daintree, break his perfect persona. He'd noticed how the boy had tried to be popular, inviting everyone to a lame study session and things like that. But Eric knew he wasn't as nice and friendly as he tried to seem, and he wanted to prove it. Getting a rise out of Daintree was making him feel better about his own issues, and he kept pushing him. As the boy threw the frisbee back, Eric contemplated throwing it back. But then he got a better idea to make him mad. He grinned at Daintree, then turned and threw the frisbee in the opposite direction, over the lake. It soared over the water until landing on top of it, too far to easily grab. Eric looked back at the Slytherin. "Sorry, my aim is awful." He said in a deadpan voice, though he couldn't quite fight the smile forming on his face.

Daintree watched where instead of throwing the frisbee back at him, he threw it far on to the water where he knew that he wouldn’t be able to reach it. But it was pointless - they were wizards. He took out his wand and while looking at Eric said, ”Accio,” within seconds the frisbee was back in his hand. ”Do you forget that we’re wizards sometimes Eric?” he didn’t like magic but yeah, it had some uses. Like this. He knew Eric preferred fighting with his fists. ”Do you want to try that again?” he said, throwing the frisbee back at him as hard as he could. He knew that continuing to engage in this was needless, that he was going to end up annoyed at the boy and itching to fight him, or end up with the boy starting the fight, either way, he shouldn’t be doing anything.

Eric rolled his eyes as Daintree summoned the frisbee back. "I didn't forget." He spat at him. "You just seem stupid enough to be incapable of first year spells." He said, frustrated. He had forgotten a bit, or at least not considered how Daintree could easily get it back. He snarled as the frisbee hit him this time, harder than he had expected. He threw it on the ground and stomped on it, hoping to break it. "Have fun with it now." He snapped, kicking it at him. "Maybe you can even prove you know second year spells by doing reparo." He scoffed, starting to walk on.
