Jasmin tied up her new knee length converses that she had received as an early birthday present from her sister Kira. Actually her whole outfit was an early present from her. Much to Jasmin’s dismay the outfit had included a skirt but at least Kira was learning now that Jasmin wasn’t fond on the whole ‘girly’ look and incorporated that into the clothes she picked out for her younger sister. Saying goodbye to Kira, Jasmin ran out of the shop with her new football in hand, thankfully her brother Leo knew her better when it came to presents. Making her way down to the small park/green area on the edge of Brightstone Jasmin threw her ball to the ground and started to kick it about a bit.

Playing football by ones self wasn’t the most fun thing in the world to do but it was all Jasmin could really do. She didn’t have many friends around Brightstone so she had no one to play with. Sure Leo would kick the ball about a bit with her every so often but he was spending a lot of time with Bess, an old friend friend from school, that he didn’t have much time for Jasmin anymore. Stopping the ball she rolled it over her foot and started to do a few kick ups. She had been working on these for a while now and was getting better. One. Two. Three. Four… she started counting to herself.

Charlotte was pleased that it was the Brightstone weekend, for she'd been rather bored of late with nothing to do but study and revise. And while she didn't mind that so much in small doses, she wasn't always the most patient person (though she was more patient then her roommate, Vera) and sitting still for hours on end pouring over books was really not what she wanted to do. Throwing on jeans and a plain t-shirt, Charlotte bounced out of the Gryffindor common room, leaving behind a half-finished essay or three, and scampered out of the castle and in to the village.

She stopped when she saw a girl playing with a football - a girl who wasn't Vera. It was odd to see anyone playing football around here, especially a girl, so naturally Charlotte was curious. "Hey!" she called, her Australian accent tempered by the slight South African inflection. "You've got some nice skills! What's your name? I haven't seen you around before." It occured to Charlotte that she might have gone to a different school, but it was better to wait for the girl's answer.

Ten. Eleven, Twelve. Jasmin continued counting to herself, her smile widening as she hit double figures. She was getting good at doing kick – ups but she knew she could do a whole lot better. As she continued to practise she heard someone speak to her. Trying not too loose focus she continued to do her kick – ups, risking a glance at the girl who was speaking to her. “Thanks!” she said, her eyes never leaving the football. “The name’s Jasmin. What’s yours?” Finally she stopped trying to keep the football up and speak to the girl ast the same time so she caught the ball and put it under her arm, turning to see the girl. “Well most of the time I stay in my sisters shop, only come out to play every once in a while?” She answered the girl. “I take it you’re from the school?” she asked.
