First Years Lesson Five

Professor Adler was sitting on the edge of her desk while she waited for the students to arrive. It would be a relatively easy lesson today. Or at least it would be for those that had been paying attention during the other lessons. Those who hadn't taken notes may have found it harder. ''We're going to be practising for the exam today, so there's no need to take out your wands,'' It wouldn't be ideal for some students, but it was still an important part of their education. ''Once you've completed the test, hand it in to me and then you can leave. Next week we'll be heading down to the duelling chamber so you will need your wands then!'' Geo grinned, hoping it would make up for the fact that this week it wouldn't be quite as exciting. They'd make up for that fact later. Slipping into her seat behind her desk, Geo expected them to focus on their work and not start chatting amongst themselves. Even if exams and tests weren't the most fun, they were still important to take seriously.

Nik did not like quizzes, she found them tedious and boring and didn’t see the point in them especially this close to exams. She sighed and looked over the sheet quickly. She supposed it was pretty easy so maybe she shouldn’t complain since it was things they’d already gone over, but she still didn’t like it. She filled it in though because she was kind of excited that they would get to go to the duelling chamber next week, she’d been wanting to see it for ages and first years weren’t allowed down their often and there hadn’t been any training or anything for the SDA that she had seen which was a real bummer honestly.​

They say he wanted to be immortal, he probably would have lived longer if he'd just left Harry alone. He's a dark arts practitioner because, well, his name for one thing, no normal person calls themselves that, but also because he was practicing dark arts, he tried to kill Harry and killed loads of other people too pretty sure.

• What does the Shield Charm do and what is its incantation? blocks spells, except the most important ones like the unforgivable, bit of an oversight if you ask me. protego.
• What is a charm you can use to disarm your opponent? Write its name and incantation: expelliarmus.
