LESSON FIVE

Noel was sitting on the edge of his desk while he waited for the students to arrive. It was not an difficult lesson today, for him at least. There wasn't much to do for him with what he had planned for them today so he had brought some homework from the older students and a cup of coffee with him to enjoy while they were busy. He counted their heads as the students settled in and waited for the last few to arrive as well before starting the lesson. ''Rather than taking out your wands, I'd like all of you to take out your quills instead. In preparation for the exam, I've prepared a test for you.'' He pointed his wand at the pile of parchments on his desk and with a wave watched as it was handed out to the students. He heard some people who weren't that excited. But exams were already closer again than they thought. '' You may leave the classroom once you have finished the test and handed it in. Before you start, however, I would like to tell you that we'll be visiting the Duelling Chamber together next week, so don't forget to bring your wands along.'' And he than gave them a smile, since that seemed to be something they looked forward too. Most of them. As the student started he took an sip of his coffee and went on with the assignments of the older students. And sometimes checked if anyone was still doing what they should do.

Lilith took a seat in the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom and waited anxiously for the lesson to begin. After last weeks lesson, she wasn't so sure she was ready for whatever they'd be learning about today. However to her utter relief the Professor announced it was a exam of sorts, she could practically feel her body relax as there wouldn't be much more heavy information packed on them this lesson. Her ears perked at the mention of visiting the dueling chamber next week, she had seen some of the duels and surprisingly found herself quite interested in the activity. Lilith did the test, which was relatively easy because even when she couldn't fully focus on lessons she had done her readings.

DADA Mid-semester test

• Why do we study Defense Against the Dark Arts? So that we are equipped to defend ourselves against those who may use the dark arts.
• Write a paragraph about Lord Voldemort OR Gormlaith Gaunt OR Gellert Grindelwald, explaining what they are famous for and why they are considered practitioners of the dark arts: Lord Voldemort also known as He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named was known for his particular need for power. He went to pretty dark depths to achieve it even changing his appearance to resemble more snake than a human by the end of it. Torturing and murdering numerous people and creatures and using the dark arts very much to his advantage.
• List the three Unforgivable Curses: The Killing Curse, The Cruciatus Curse and The Imperius Curse.
• What is the punishment for casting an Unforgivable Curse? Severe, if caught your life will be spent staring at the walls of a cell in Azkaban.
• What is the incantation for the Stunning Spell? Stupefy.
• What does the Shield Charm do and what is its incantation? Protego.
• What is a charm you can use to disarm your opponent? Write its name and incantation: The Disarming Charm (Expelliarmus.)
