It was his fifth year, which meant Aion was spending his time studing harder than ever. To make this even more difficult, this morning he'd recieved some terrible news about one of his family members. Regardless of how close they'd been, Aion still felt the tug on his heart when he'd heard.
Needing a distraction, he headed towards the second floor corridor. He had seen many empty rooms in this space, and hoped to get a little peace and quiet so he could bury his head into something important. So far, his favourite lesson had been Ancient Runes, and Professor Joseph was doing a wonderful job of keeping his entertainment levels high. He knew it was a subject he wanted to work with for his career, and had evidentally bought himself his own basic set of runes to practise with. He might not have been very good, but it was a start.

As he found the abandoned classroom, he entered it and quietly closed the door behind him. He took a seat at the desk next to the window, and unwrapped his dark blue velvet bag that he had carried from his dormatory. Inside, were five runes, and taking them out slowly he placed them in a line on the table, running through their names and meanings in his head.

Maddie was very determined to distance herself from everything that had happened in third year and make a new start for her fourth year. She was older, more mature and she had learned many things about herself and about others. She was beginning to realise the kind of person she was turning into. However, she still didn't know the kind of person that she wanted to be with and after Felix she knew better than to jump into something quickly again. Although, in Maddie's case that was far easier said than done. She decided that the best way to distract herself from these thoughts and feelings was to bury herself in school work which was 1) very unlike her and 2) incredibly boring and only lasted ten minutes.

As a result she found herself walking aimlessly down the many corridors of Hogwarts searching for something to do, something to distract herself from the boredom of studying. As she turned the corner she noticed an almost familiar face dive into (what seemed like) an abandoned classrooom. Curiosity getting the better of her she decided to follow the person into the room. It had to be better than what she had waiting for her back in the Library. She opened the heavy wooden door and sidled inside, trying to make as little noise as possible as she did so. Maddie watched as the boy, whom she now recognised as the person who she had met before school started, lay out some kind of weird stones in front of him. "Fancy seeing you here" she said, announcing her arrival into the empty room.

Aion was just reevalutating the final stone when a soft voice behind him gave him a startle. He turned quickly, before his mouth turned up at the sides into a large smile for the girl. They'd only met once previously, but he remembered how sweet she had been that day in Brightstone. This time, she was without Ezra too, and would be able to speak freely without judgement.

"Hey!" He said delighted, his hand behind his back trying to quickly sweep away the stones back in their bag. He wouldn't want to trouble anyone with the boredom of his runes, and knew there were other more interesting things they could talk about. Realising that she had no idea Aion would be attending this school when they first met, he felt the need to explain himself. "I transferred" He said briefly, not sure what type of reaction he was expecting. "Figure this school has more..opportunites, you know?" Aion flashed her his smile once more, and turned to finish putting away his homework. Durmstrang would never had allowed him to practise the subjects he desired, and with his parents in America it only made sense for him to study at Hogwarts. "Why are you here? Don't you have friends that would be worried about you?" he asked nervousy, a small laugh in his tone but still somewhat serious. He didn't want to have a target painted on his back so soon after arriving afterall.
