It came as a surprise to everyone when Jonathon applied to be a professor. Because until he had applied for the job his friends and family, and even Jon himself had not once in the course of his twenty three year old life imagined he would muster enough confidence to stand in the eyes of students, let alone speak in front of them about a subject he adored so dearly. Though his initial reasons for applying were partially curiosity, and partially so he could have an excuse to finally leave France, he had always harbored a secret desire to teach whether he believed he had the ability or not. And now that he had begun teaching classes and fallen into the rhythm of how the school worked he couldn't imagine himself doing anything else, and wondered why on earth he ever questioned his ability to speak in front of a group of teenagers when all they wanted to do was learn and he assumed the role of leader so naturally.

With these thoughts in mind, Jonathon left his office that morning and strolled outside knowing he should probably familiarize himself with the school grounds if he were ever assigned the task of patrolling them after curfew and later on in the night. He would have strolled with a destination in mind however out of laziness he had paid no mind to the castle map he had skimmed upon his arrival on the first day of the school year, and inwardly cursed himself for that decision now as he wasted his time by wandering the grounds aimlessly, losing sight of where on earth he wanted to be within the confines of the school and alternately not knowing where he should have been. Jonathon continued his aimless, absent-minded stroll for another few minutes, only stopping in his tracks when he caught a glimpse of a nearby rosebush that stood out prominently against the rest of the dull foliage. He stood silently on the path he had followed, and raised an eyebrow as to question the unusual looking picture in spite of the fact he thought he was the only person around and his question would not receive an answer. With an expression of slight confusion on his face, he took a step closer, because he wasn't sure if the rose bush was planted to eventually grow into landmark, or if it had grown on its own accord and stood out by nothing but chance. He stared for a moment in bewilderment before noticing the memorial below the rosebush and moving down on one knee so he could read it.

this is terrible, i'm sorry!

Quidditch Professional, School Professor, Mother, Wife, Sister and Cousin, the list for Kida Frost was ever growing, when ever her life seemed simple she would take on another task and add to her plate. Dressed in a casual Quidditch outfit Kida had spent most of her day at the Quidditch Pitch practicing her fast turns and just getting some general exercise in, she left the school grounds often to meet up with her team and practice and compete but when she was at School she just had some fun on the Pitch. Back when Kida was a student she would often explore the grounds and get herself hurt, but now-a-days she spent most of her time Working or playing Quidditch.
Once she had finished she picked up her Professor Robes and threw them over the top of her outfit and picked up her bottle of water, her Broom stick resting in her hand as she re hydrated and went for a cool down walk around the grounds.

Passing the Gardens Kida noticed a Man walking in them she didn't think much of it until she saw him stop and stare at the Rosebush as if it was some strange not from this world creature, she raised an eyebrow and walked over towards him, He had bent down to read the memorial. Kida was curious if the Man knew the girl who had died here all that time ago or not so she detoured and approached. Kida recognized the Professor from around school but she hadn't really communicated with him much, he was Muggle Studies and she was Care of Magical Creatures so their paths didn't cross.
Standing next to the man who was kneeling Kida reached out and touched one of the roses, they were always in Beautiful bloom 'Did you Know her?' Kida asked.

By simply passing judgement on the size of the rosebush and the amount of flowers in bloom for this time of year, Jonathon could have assumed the girl mentioned on the memorial had passed away many years ago. Though before he even had enough time to process these thoughts, a voice ruptured them from his mind and caused him to stand up suddenly in shock. Because he thought he was the only person walking the grounds this early in the day the last thing he expected was to hear someone else's voice, let alone the voice of a fellow professor which made the most sense at this hour of the day when the frost had yet to be disturbed by the shoes that belonged to the many students both of them taught on a daily basis. "Um, no." As he got over the initial shock of the other professor's sudden appearance, he scratched the back of his head as he further answered her question. "I didn't know her, I was just wondering why there was a rosebush here in the first place." He responded while squaring his shoulders in an attempt to seem more confident than he truly was.

"What about you? Did you know her?" Jonathon asked in return, following the possibility the other professor might have known the girl and strolled down to this area of the grounds on such an early morning to visit the bush out of respect. He had half a mind not to intrude if this was the case, and began thinking of ways he could leave her be, because he was already a fish out of water and did not want to make an already slightly awkward situation caused by his momentary shock to become worse with what would be unintentional rudeness.

For a moment she was worried she had startled the man and interrupted a moment when he stood up abruptly, he explained that he didn't know the girl but he wonderd why the rosebush was there and Kida felt relieved. Asking if she knew the girl Kida shook her head softly 'She was at School before I started here, It was such an awful way to die, I Heard stories about it when I was at school.' Kida paused for a moment and glanced at the rosebush 'But the story hasn't stopped students from going near the Borely Mansion, but it has deferred quite a few so there are no more rosebushes' with a slight smile creeping on her face Kida remembered that her Cousin Aeon had been to the Borely Mansion for a Party during the school year, 'Even if the Mansion didn't kill you, The Dark presence there does have a habit of trapping you in there and showing you your deepest fears, My Cousin was trapped inside once, I don't think he's gone back.'

Kida wondered if the Professor went to School her, he didn't look familiar to her but then again she didn't know every single student who had ever gone to Hogwarts New Zealand 'Have you heard the Story of what happened to Rose?' Kida asked curiously. The Professor hoped she wasn't bothering the Professor with her question, she was curious, it wasn't often she saw another Professor around this early in to morning and when she did come across other Professors the school was active with students.

Jonathon was still overcoming the hurdle of shock at being interrupted from his thoughts, and found it difficult to form words because before the other professor arrived he thought the grounds were entirely void of life at such an early time of morning. He was relieved that she began a spiel about the rosebush, talking enough for the both of them and in turn intriguing his curiosity. As the brunette spoke, Jon nodded as a casual indication he was listening however his relaxed actions were merely a mask for the questions he had. Having never been a student at Hogwarts New Zealand, and only being subjected to hearing second hand stories from Samuel who only attended for one year, which was hardly long enough to know every story and rumor within the castle walls, Jonathon had no idea what this 'Borely mansion' place was. Nor did he possess any sort of inkling to the details behind the stories the other Professor spoke about.

He was glad when she asked if he had heard the story so he wouldn't have to ask about it himself and risk seeming rude. This Borely mansion place sounded as if it belonged to one of the most cliched horror films, and the 'dark presence' didn't lessen the cliche, either. It seemed like something he would have not cared about on any given day, though if it were a real place and the stuff the other Professor had mentioned wasn't just fabricated rumors played up by generations of students he definitely did want to hear about it. He shook his head in a response, hoping the action was enough indication for other professor to notice he had not heard the story before, so she could go ahead on another spiel and explain it to save him the trouble of looking it up himself and so he could become less clueless about the school's history as a whole.

The other Professor didn't say much, Kida began to be concerned she was spoiling a moment, she wasn't sure what she was reading from him, he seemed curious yet slightly distant. The Man shook his head to her question if he had heard the story about rose, there was no sign to explain the story just a short message, and unless you asked you didn't really know what happened. Leaning on her Broom Kida thought she may as well explain 'Rose was a Student here, she had some good friends but of course back then some Slytherins were very blood supremacists and believed that anyone with anything but pure blood should never talk to them or look at them as they are so pure and perfect' wanting to scoff at the thought Kida held it back to not offend, herself being a Muggle born she had a lot of bad Experience with Dark Wizards wanting to Purge her. 'A Girl named Bellatrix start a commotion with her at school and again some time later in town when Rose and her friends were having a Butterbeer together, I'm not sure how it ended up with them near the Borley Mansion but they were throwing spells at each other left right and center' Although these events happened before she went to school she couldn't help but imagine what a different time it was, Blood supremacy and throwing spells in the streets. 'Bellatrix was furious with Rose for saying anything nasty towards her they had a little battle which resulted in Rose getting pushed back through the door of the Borley Mansion, even though Bellatrix wasn't the one to cause her death, she caused the spell which knocked her through. The Dark Presence at the Borley Mansion grabbed her and killed her whilst Bellatrix laughed at her screams.' Pausing for a moment she felt a chill run down her spine, rubbing the back of her neck she continued 'The Headmistress of the time arrived and Bellatrix was escorted by dementors to Azkaban, but she returned to school not long later, Now in her Honor we have a Rose Bush after Rose for her memory'

Leaning back on her Broom she studied Jonathon's expression, hoping she hadn't scared him with the story, it was something that would at least make your stomach feel woozy, its not every day you hear of girls dueling and laughing at death that wasn't in a movie but rather real life.
