It came as a surprise to everyone when Jonathon applied to be a professor. Because until he had applied for the job his friends and family, and even Jon himself had not once in the course of his twenty three year old life imagined he would muster enough confidence to stand in the eyes of students, let alone speak in front of them about a subject he adored so dearly. Though his initial reasons for applying were partially curiosity, and partially so he could have an excuse to finally leave France, he had always harbored a secret desire to teach whether he believed he had the ability or not. And now that he had begun teaching classes and fallen into the rhythm of how the school worked he couldn't imagine himself doing anything else, and wondered why on earth he ever questioned his ability to speak in front of a group of teenagers when all they wanted to do was learn and he assumed the role of leader so naturally.
With these thoughts in mind, Jonathon left his office that morning and strolled outside knowing he should probably familiarize himself with the school grounds if he were ever assigned the task of patrolling them after curfew and later on in the night. He would have strolled with a destination in mind however out of laziness he had paid no mind to the castle map he had skimmed upon his arrival on the first day of the school year, and inwardly cursed himself for that decision now as he wasted his time by wandering the grounds aimlessly, losing sight of where on earth he wanted to be within the confines of the school and alternately not knowing where he should have been. Jonathon continued his aimless, absent-minded stroll for another few minutes, only stopping in his tracks when he caught a glimpse of a nearby rosebush that stood out prominently against the rest of the dull foliage. He stood silently on the path he had followed, and raised an eyebrow as to question the unusual looking picture in spite of the fact he thought he was the only person around and his question would not receive an answer. With an expression of slight confusion on his face, he took a step closer, because he wasn't sure if the rose bush was planted to eventually grow into landmark, or if it had grown on its own accord and stood out by nothing but chance. He stared for a moment in bewilderment before noticing the memorial below the rosebush and moving down on one knee so he could read it.
this is terrible, i'm sorry!
