The Dairy of Ezra Catchlove.
I'm going to begin this by saying a quick note of my current state of being. I'm
a girl, age 8, living in London, and striving to be the next Witch Weekly editor.
Day One - May 5th, 2025I'm going to begin this by saying a quick note of my current state of being. I'm
a girl, age 8, living in London, and striving to be the next Witch Weekly editor.
Today is my birthday. My crazy mother and father sat me down on the floral couch and gave me their "present." I wasn't exactly inclined to an empty book at first, but once my father described what I could do with it, I was hooked. He described a blank world, where I was the creator. He said I could do anything in this book. Write, read, draw, paint, create; the book's possibilities were endless, and something I was grateful for.
You see, my life is a bit odd. My mother and father both work at St. Mungos. Mother works in the department where they make new medicines. Father, on the other hand, deals with the emergency room. They share lots of qualities, but there are two things that stand out about them. Mother is a right brain. She's creative, witty, artsy, and very creative; while father is the total left brain. Level headed, logical, and mathematical are words to associate with him. I am a balance. I am neither one side of the other. I have both attributes in my personality, and appreciate it.
Anyways, it was quite odd receiving this sort of gift from both of them. It was leather-bound, with royal blue lettering that had my name printed on it. My father and mother usually gave me a book, one with words that I could read and study. I assumed that this was mothers doing. She had probably begged father, and tried to persuade him, until he gave in.
I assume that's why I'm here right now, writing my first entry in my book.
Day Two - April 15th, 2025
So, I've come to realize that this diary is probably going to be a monthly or bi-monthly thing. I just don't have the time or patience to record my life every day, or have the feeling to do so. I have enough material to cover for this entry, so I will start off by saying that over the past month I have realized that my life is extremely boring. I'm home schooled by the Nanny at home. I don't have a single toy, except for: books, art utensils, textbooks, and other crafty things that my parents have given me for me. I lived in the outer areas of London, where all the Victorian houses surrounded by meadows were. My life sounds like a movie, except for my parents never being here.
Okay, that's enough of complaining, time to think on the brighter sides of things. By the process of being lonely I've realized that I have some interesting hobbies. I've discovered I like to write on things, that aren't meant to be written on. I write every day; somehow I never have this book, and end up having to use a napkin. I also have discovered an idée fixe for looking through my moms clothes. For some reason I enjoy going through them, and trying them on. I also like pressing flowers and braiding them through my hair.
My father says I'm wasting my day, but then my mother steps in and says that in the morning I do my studies. Which I do quickly, because she says Im above my grade level. So now you know what I like to do. Read, write, look at clothes, braid my hair, ace my tests, and complain about mother and father not being here at the house.
Day Three - April 16th, 2025
will finish when i feel like it, doing this a bit differently, but it will include what it needs to.
