FULL NAME
Eugene Reece Nestor
MEANING
Eugene - Eugene / Eugine is a common masculine given name that comes from the Greek εὐγενής (eugenēs), "noble", literally "well-born", from εὖ (eu), "well" and γένος (genos), "race, stock, kin". Gene is a common shortened form. The feminine variant is Eugenia or Eugenie.
Reece - Origin: English. Meaning: Passion, Enthusiasm
Nestor - Nestor is a given name of Greek origin. In Greek mythology it comes from that of Nestor, the son of Neleus, the King of Pylos and Chloris. The Greek derivation is from a combination of "νέομαι" [neomai] - "go back", and "νόστος" [nostos] - "one who returns from travels".
WHY
Eugene was named after his maternal grandfather, it was a person that his mother was exceedingly close to, her own mother had been distant figure in her life, so when she got pregnant she wanted it to be a boy so that she could honor him rather than her mother. She’d be close enough with her, but she just hadn’t been around in the ways that her father had. So, she was pretty pleased when he was born and could be called Eugene. Her father, his grandfather who had been alive at the time had been flattered and really enjoyed having a namesake. Though the name isn’t particularly new, and has definitely occasionally made him sound “old” to his peers, he really likes his name. It's just unique enough that he finds it suits him and he likes being named after someone who meant something to his mother. The middle name is just a name that his mother liked. He has no real connection to the middle name and it has no great meaning for him, but he likes it a lot. He doesn’t go by the name, but wouldn’t mind if people used it when trying to get his attention, it’s usually his cousin who uses it to get his attention. The last name is his mother’s family name, he’s never known who his father is and it’s never mattered so he’s glad to have his mother’s surname rather than anything else. He likes it, he really likes his name and finds that it suits him in a way that he doesn’t think that it wouldn’t suit others. He knows most people couldn’t pull off being called Eugene in the way he imagines that he pulls it off. He loves his whole name.
NICKNAMES
His whole life the name Eugene has been shortened to Gene, it’s never been something he’s asked for people to do, but a lot of people just default to calling his Gene and he’s never minded it and it will be something that he will continue to not mind at all. His name is one that he likes, but he has memories of him being called Gene by the grandfather he is named after, so it’s never something that he’d dislike, it would be something he just rolls with. Eugene doesn’t really mind what he gets called, he’ll correct people if they say it wrong, intentionally or not, just because the name does mean something to him, and he’s usually quick to anger if someone insults him, and will not enjoy name calling from people he doesn’t like, he’ll usually be pretty happy if its a friend, but he deals with his friends and those he dislikes very differently.
AGE
Currently Eugene is eleven years old. It’s just him and his cousin now and has been for a few years but he’s been pretty happy with it, and the birthdays they celebrate have been really good for him. He likes when birthdays are surrounded with good people and good music. He just likes having a bit of fun on his birthday and his cousin always goes out of her way to make it fun for him which he always appreciates. He thinks that birthdays with people who are distant from him aren’t worth it, he would rather have a quiet birthday than one filled with people who didn’t know him and who didn’t care about him. It just wouldn’t be worth it to him.
D.O.B.
Eugene was born in Auckland New Zealand, in the early hours of the morning on the 23rd of September. His mother had had a difficult pregnancy, despite being young at the time, she had multiple issues including too low blood pressure and stress issues. She had been exhausted by what was quite a normal birth, Eugene hadn’t taken too long to be born, but it truly exhausted his mother who had further issues after the birth. Eugene only remained at the hospital for a few days after he was born, but his mother remained at the hospital for a few weeks afterwards, on more than a few occasions Eugene knows that his mother almost lost her life. But, when she recovered it was good, and he was cared for in the meantime by his grandfather.
FATHER
Completely unknown. His mother was about 17 when she found out she was pregnant with Eugene, she’d never been much of a studier, and had left school that year and began frequenting certain bars that didn’t check IDs and from then she slept with someone who ended up being a father to her one son. Eugene doesn’t mind not knowing his father, it would’ve been very hard to prove who was his father and he doesn’t much care about it. He likes his family as is, and he knows despite all of the problems they had in their life so far that it wouldn’t have been better with someone like that around.
MOTHER
Carrie Nestor - Muggle, waitress. Died from complications during her second pregnancy at 24 when Eugene was seven years old.
Eugene’s mother was an exceedingly kind woman, she had a huge heart which she wore on her sleeve, it made her good at her job as a waitress but didn’t always help her in other ways, she was chronically underpaid because she never wanted to fight with her employer and tended to just take what she was given. Her and Eugene were chronically without money, they lived in a tiny one bedroom apartment in one of the rougher areas of the city. Carrie was very involved in the local community and was always trying to make it a better place, a lot of money she made was then poured into this despite the fact the family needed it for the household and for food. She just liked helping people and could never walk past someone in need. She was deeply caring and affectionate towards her son. On days when she had to work and her father couldn’t take him, he’d sit in the restaurant and she’d let him work on his homework and give him tasks and colouring to do. She was a deeply passionate person too, always signed petitions and shared things on social media, she was always a little worried about going to protests because she was rather terrified of getting into trouble. She was always reading to Eugene when she could, Carrie was of average intelligence, she wasn’t someone who excelled in school and after a certain point stopped enjoying it and decided she wanted to make money instead, but she had tried hard to read with Eugene, do his homework with him as much as she could. She got into a very tentative relationship with a much older man prior to her death, and fell pregnant for a second time. She was very excited but nervous about it. She had loved being a mum to Eugene and thought it would be nice to grow their family, but the man walked out on her upon finding out and she started working double time to make more money, it all ended up with her going into labour too early and hemorrhaging during it. She and the baby died, a young girl that Carrie’s father, Eugene’s grandfather, named Grace, before burying them both.
SIBLING(S)
None, his one sibling died during childbirth complications which also killed his mother. He was rather excited to be an older sibling and had been excited to meet her, but it had been obvious to him that his mother was over doing it. He doesn’t have any resentment towards his sister, he can’t blame her for his mother’s death, he blames all the people who were stressing her out, and getting her to work overtime to put food on their tables when she was known to be fragile during pregnancy.
OTHER
Eugene has never known his grandparents on the paternal side, given he’s never known his father. But on his mother’s side, his grandmother is a working woman, who was for the longest time in his mother's family the sore breadwinner. She is a very hard working woman, takes little nonsense and has little time for others. Eugene doesn’t know her particularly well and despite everything, doesn't see her that often. His grandfather died when he was eight years old, he’d been chronically sick for years and had been unable to work for most of his life because of it. He had been a huge part of Eugene’s life prior to his death, and it was a significant blow to him to lose his grandfather so soon after he lost his mother. He had been living with his grandfather at the time. Eugene’s current caregiver is his cousin, Samantha, Sam. His grandparents had two kids, his mother and an older daughter too, who in turn had one daughter. She is about ten years older than Eugene and is muggle. She was raised primarily in her grandfather’s house because her mother skipped out shortly after her birth. She was of age and renting a small one bedroom not far from where Eugene and his mother had been living, upon their grandfather’s death she immediately brought Eugene into her home. The two are very close, but Sam doesn’t have a lot of money and they live paycheck to paycheck. Since this isn’t too dissimilar to how him and his mother lived it’s not a big change nor does he mind it. Sam doesn’t have a whole lot of authority over Eugene and certainly feels well over her head with him being found to be magic.
RELATIONSHIP TO FAMILY
Eugene had a very close relationship to his mother, from day one he had been a mother’s boy. He was deeply saddened with her loss, and still feels her loss keenly almost everyday. He used to tell her everything, spent all his time around her and she was his greatest supporter and his greatest pushing force. He always knew they didn’t have a lot, and that she likely went hungry on his behalf, he always appreciated her and he always loved her deeply. She gave so much of herself to him and he hopes that he can be fractionally like her. He was also very close with his grandfather, as the sole paternal figure in his life. He wasn’t as well or as mobile as he wanted to be but he was a good paternal figure for Eugene, always showing him how to do things and taking him to and from school. He taught him how to play guitar and banjo during the time after school and definitely infused Eugene’s life with a love of music that he’s continued to carry with him. His relationship with his cousin is good, she feels more like an older sister to him than a parent, and that suits him quite well. They had been close before his mother’s death, and their relationship grew then and then grew when she took him in. He is thankful for her but knows that he’s a strain on her finances and is affecting her ability to do what she wants with her life, he loves her deeply though.
PET(S)
They could never afford a pet, so eugene has never had one. He does really enjoy dogs and cats and thought it would be fun to have a pet, but he knows it’s not within his price range.
BLOOD STATUS
Unknown - he's never known his father so he doesn’t know what his blood is. His mother’s family is not magical. It’s either because of his father that he has magic or if it just happened to him by chance.
THOUGHTS ON BLOOD STATUS
It was quite a surprise for him to find out that he had magic. It was a huge surprise for him, and for his cousin. He’d been making odd things happen since he was about seven years old, but he just thought it was random odd occurrences and not anything more than that. It was a surprise and he isn’t sure what that’ll mean for everything. He knows it’ll mean he joins the magical world, but his cousin isn’t magical, and he doesn’t know what that’ll mean for him and his cousin. He is worried that he won’t be able to spend as much time with her, and she’s his only family. He doesn’t know what it’ll cost and he’s worried about making his cousin spend money she doesn’t have on this new life for him. There’s no question about whether he’ll join it, but just that it’s going to change so much of his life and he is nervous about it. At the very least he doesn’t care about what his blood status really means, because without any context of what it means to other people it’s just a fact about him, and since he has no idea where the magic is from he has not point of showing off or not to others.
HOMETOWN
Auckland, New Zealand. He has never lived in another city. It is to him the best sort of city. Despite this being the case, he is pretty sure that Auckland is the best city for anyone to live in. He loves the atmosphere of the place and would’ve been disappointed to have any other place as his home.
CURRENT RESIDENCE
Auckland, New Zealand. As the only place he has ever lived, it is where he currently lives. He has worried that magic will pull him too much away from his beloved city, but he knows he’ll always be able to go back and has come to learn that there are magical areas of the city which he is looking forward to exploring. He is a free spirit, enjoys riding his bike around the city and exploring more parts. He’s always lived in the same neighbourhood, it was the same one his mother was raised in and he just enjoys it. Its not the best area in the city, but its where all his friends are and where he went to school, everything about it is where he enjoys being. He’ll cycle everywhere, and not just because his mother couldn’t afford a car and his cousin doesn’t drive. He doesn’t want to live anywhere else.
THE PLACE TO LIVE
Auckland, New Zealand. Eugene has never left the city, he has seen other cities in movies and tv shows, read about them in books, but none of them compare to his beloved Auckland. Everything about the city pleases him, his neighbourhood, the people he knows in it, the people his mother attempted to help, the way it’s built, the architecture, the weather, the activity in the city, There is always something happening in the city and it never a boring place to be, even if the weather is terrible. He likes sneaking into pubs and bars to see different bands and open mic nights. He loves the feel of the place. Of course, he has nothing to compare it to, he’s never so much as been to countryside outside of the city. He is uninterested in travelling outside of it and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. In his mind there is everything in the city, and never any need to go anywhere else.
PREVIOUS HOMES
FIRST HOME: It was a small one bedroom apartment in the heart of his neighbourhood in Auckland. It was where he’d lived with his mother for the entire time she was alive with him. It wasn’t big, they mostly shared the one bedroom, but she often slept in the living room when he got older and she took slightly later shifts. It was not a big place, it wasn’t very well insulated and generally felt very cramped but he never minded, it was their home and it was filled with little trinkets and goodies, it was just a good place that they were able to share and both enjoy. It was part of an apartment block where his mother was always very friendly to people they lived around. The walls were however paper thin.
SECOND HOME: This was a small home, not a flat, a two bedroom home, where Eugene lived while his grandfather was alive. It was a much bigger place than he was used to and he had a whole room to himself, he wasn’t particularly good at keeping it tidy which was much to the frustration of his grandmother whenever she was around. He liked the house, he liked the extra space, it wasn’t what he was used to but he enjoyed it a whole lot. The first few weeks he slept in the living room, finding his own room a bit hard to adjust to, but he got used to it. He liked living with his grandfather, it wasn’t far from where he’d lived before and he was just happy to be able to keep going to same school as before.
THIRD HOME: This is his current home with his cousin, after his grandfather died, his grandmother had said she wouldn’t be able to look after him, mostly because her job kept her away for long periods of time, so he was set to head into foster care, but his cousin petitioned for him to live with her, and because she had a two bedroom home and was working full time, but had flexible enough hours it was granted. The flat is in the same apartment block as he lived with his mother, but the second bedroom is the only difference. It is once again a small apartment, his cousin doesn’t have much furniture, she doesn’t have a dining table and she found her couch in a skip, she ended up having to spend quite a bit of money getting Eugene a bed, and it took about four months for her to save enough for a cheap one. For that period, Eugene mostly slept on a blow up mattress or the floor depending on if he had bothered to blow up the mattress. They have a lot of fun, and the place is rarely cleaned unless there is an inspection on it. Eugene loves living with his cousin, he stays at the same school, around all of his friends, he finds it to be a more free place. The downside is because like with his mother’s house the walls are paper thin. He knows all about his cousins problems and overhears every conversation she has about money. He does love living with her.
SEXUAL ORIENTATION
Eugene is a little young to know, but his cousin being openly and happily a lesbian has allowed him in recent years to be raised in a very free and open apartment. He doesn’t think his mother would mind what he was as long as he was always kind to them and them to him as well as just being happy. She’d want him to be happy he believes, regardless of what he is.
CURRENT RELATIONSHIP STATUS
Single, Eugene is way too young to be in a relationship. He is not interested in being in one in any case.

HAIR STYLE
Eugene is the spitting image of his mother, with the biggest difference being that Eugene is male and his mother female. They had the same coloured hair, a dark brown that tended to sit flat and straight. Eugene doesn’t do anything with his hair, he cuts it himself since his mother cut it before him, the strands tend to be uneven and poorly kept. He has never been the sort of person to care about his hair, but he is quite good at doing hair, his mother showed him how to do certain hairstyles and he enjoyed doing her hair on occasion. But he doesn’t care about his own hair, he’ll only wash it about once a week to save on water and energy bills - his showers are shorter - and he doesn’t care much at all. To him it’s just hair and he can shave it all off if it gets too much in the way. He’s lost this opinion over time, but has never moved to actually care to do things with it, just as he looks like his mother, he wants to keep his hair and not get rid of it because it’s a connection with his mother. Following her death he did go through a period when he couldn’t look at himself in the mirror for very long because he’d only see her features on him. But this has faded.
HAIR HAS BEEN DYED
He doesn’t care much about how his hair looks and perhaps with time he’ll be happy to but for now with his hair being a connection to his mother he isn’t that keen to dye it any colours. He doesn’t want to not have that connection still. He’s just gotten to a point where he doesn’t see her every time he looks in the mirror but to lose the hair colour connection would be a lot for him. He does hope that he’ll get less attached with time to his hair and he’ll be able to experiment with other colours, he’s also hopeful that being magical will allow him to do it more easily, so he’ll always be able to get it back. But for now, he wouldn’t do it, he likes his hair as it is and doesn’t want to change it that drastically, not for long and not if he can’t change it back real easily.
EYE COLOUR
Again, much like his hair colour, his eyes are the exact same shade and colour as his mother’s being a dark green. He likes his eyes, his cousin has bright blue eyes and he finds it occasionally difficult to not stare at them, they stand out so starkly in her features and while nice, he is happy that his eyes aren’t like that, he likes his eyes being a good but more muted colour, he’s always stood out for different reasons, because of his clothes but he is happy that he doesn’t stand out for any other reason. He likes his eye colour a lot, and it was the first part of his face that no longer reminded him of his mother, partly he also thought this was due to the fact they have a more muted colour and he didn’t spend a whole lot of time staring directly into his mother’s eyes. They blend in with the rest of features that on their own he only sees himself, but with the rest of his face he sees his mother. He likes his eyes and wouldn’t change anything about them.
BIRTHMARKS/FRECKLES/SCARS
Eugene has a few small scars from falling off his bike but nothing too major and nothing too obvious. He has a couple of very small birthmarks around his body, mostly he has freckles around his face, this is the biggest difference from his mother that had way fewer freckles that were only that visible if she was in the sun for too long, Eugene’s are always visible. They don’t take over his face but are prominent enough that he always spots them. Eugene doesn’t mind having freckles or having more freckles than his mother ever had, they are the one difference between them and since most of his family don’t have anything like that he has. It’s the only connection to an unknown father and given that he knows he could’ve looked entirely like this person and not his mother he’s not bothered about the little that he does.
BODY TYPE
Eugene is perhaps a little shorter than most his age, he had broad shoulders and a broad chest, but overall is a little smaller than most. He cycles everywhere and engages in a lot of different energetic activities. He has never been wholly without food but he hasn’t perhaps always had as much as his peers or as steady an amount as his peers, his mother always tried but sometimes meals were a bit bare bones. His grandfather was far better for it, and his cousin who has always tried her best is more like his mother than his grandfather, but he doesn’t mind, he is sure that eventually he’ll hit that growth spurt and nothing will change about his life except that he will now be taller. Eugene is entirely indifferent about his body type, he doesn’t care how it looks or the changes to it. He likes himself how he is and will likely always be happy.
BLOOD TYPE
O (+ve)
Eugene’s blood type is something he knows vaguely, his mother thought it was important to know because it was just the two of them a lot of the time, and if something happened to them both he should know what it is, but he doesn’t really care about it. He does wonder if it has changed now that he has magic, he’s heard that magic is in the blood so he wonders what the magic has done to it. Does he have the same blood type, would a magical person who tests blood be able to tell that he was magical. He’s curious about it but not enough not that he would ever do anything about it.
WHICH HAND?
Eugene is right handed.
He’s been right handed since day one, from before he even picked up a pencil or pen his grandfather gave him a guitar and began showing him it. He picked it up in a way which indicated he was right handed and this was then backed up by when, shortly after picked up a pencil with his right hand. His handwriting is pretty poor, its a scrawling mess. When he makes an effort it can be quite legible but he’s not really the type to care about how his writing looks so he doesn’t much care about making it look nice. He’s never tried to pick up writing with his left hand and has absolutely no desire to.
VOICE
Eugene was raised amongst people who had themselves all been born and raised in New Zealand. He has a strong kiwi accent, he uses a lot of slang and abbreviations when he spokes. He gets straight to the point whenever he can. He has a thick accent but it’s no thicker really than those around him and is certainly not the thickest accent he has ever heard. He doesn’t mind how he sounds, he knows he sounds less like his mother than he once did, as the sole adult for a lot of him growing up he had a lot of her lingo and word emphasis, some of which he has lost from the time of not being with her. He likes the way he sounds and it is perfectly normal to sound like he does with the way he was raised and the company that he keeps.
LANGUAGES
Eugene only speaks english, they’ve done some maori at school but he was never really one to pay attention to a lot of that so he didn’t ever pick any of it up. He knows the basic greet and that's about it. He is fluent in english and actually very good at english, he doesn’t give off much of an impression that he would be, but he very much is good at english.
ALLERGIES
Eugene has no known allergies, but of course he hasn’t yet entered the magical world where he has no idea what sorts of things could await him or what sorts of things could result with him being allergic to them.
PERSONAL STYLE
Eugene has a very casual style, because there was never a lot of money in his household, he doesn’t have many clothes and most of them are very worn and old, They have lots of holes and them and generally seem very ill-fitting for him. He doesn’t mind the oversized stuff and he’s been known to cut the sleeves off certain shirts when he wants to. He’ll always either get jeans that don’t perfectly sit at his ankles or roll them up, but every piece of clothing he has, he wears until he can no longer physically fit into them. All of the clothes he buys or his mother and then cousin buy to replace them are second hand ones, hand me downs from his grandfather’s collection of clothes or thrift shop clothes. He’s always been quite thankful that he hasn’t yet had the same growth spurts that he’s noticed other kids in his class have had, especially since going with his cousin because he knows she doesn’t have the spare money to buy him clothes on top of everything else she now needs to get. He doesn’t mind it, he’s been made fun of at school because of his clothing choices and his teachers when they don’t know him paint him with a very specific brush because of his clothes - any school uniform is usually third or fourth hand me downs. But Eugene doesn’t mind it, he likes how he looks and he likes how he dresses. He has no great desire to waste lots of money on new clothes.

CHARACTER LIKES
Eugene has a number of things that he likes, above everything else he loves his guitar and enjoys playing the guitar, it’s just a really easy thing for him to do anywhere he wants. He only has one guitar that he’s owned since he was young. It is an old second hand guitar but it is his most prized possession. He is very careful with it so that it doesn’t get destroyed. Eugene likes cycling around, it is his primary way of getting around. His bike was found by his grandfather in a bin, and he took the time to fix it up and make it more usable for Eugene, Eugene loves it. Eugene likes spending time with those he’s friends with. He likes staying up late and sleeping in. He likes lunch and breaks at his school, since those are occasions where he can do things he wants. He likes hanging out with his cousin, he likes pizza and easy microwave meals. He loves Auckland and living in a city. He likes singing in the shower, and singing with his cousin. Her dance parties are especially fun for him. He loves having a good time and just ignoring that there are other people around him. He likes working to earn things and doesn’t mind working hard to get what he wants. His mother worked hard even in her role and he knows it’s good to work for what you want.
CHARACTER DISLIKES
Eugene hates people who take advantage of others. He’ll jump into situations that don’t always need him. He doesn’t like people who show off their wealth and make others feel bad for not having anything. He doesn’t like teachers and adults in general who look down on him because of the fact he doesn’t have a lot of money. Eugene doesn’t like people who think that his family is sub-par just because it’s just him and his cousin. He doesn’t particularly like cars, mostly thinks they take up too much space and make the roads dangerous for him and his bike. He doesn’t like when the weather is too horrible and he can’t really do much and he’s not a huge fan of very cold or windy nights because they usually mean that he’ll be cold. He doesn’t like having too much space and feels uneasy when people give him new things. He’s not a huge fan of people who are super into themselves, or self centered, he doesn’t like when people don’t help others when they could. He doesn’t trust people who don’t donate to charity or act in manners that show that even if they don’t give to charity that they are charitable. He doesn’t like when people are unnecessarily harsh, he hates when people shout at him harshly.
GOALS
Eugene has never had real goals, he hoped that one day he might be able to make a bit of money playing his guitar, but given that his mother died when he was young and his grandfather too leaving him with his cousin, and in all cases there was never that much money going around, his goals have always been short term, because he’s been raised around short term goals. Food on the table, roof overhead. He thinks he’ll always manage to find happiness so long as he has those. He maybe has a goal to have a family down the line, but he’s not a very long term person. Eugene is unsure if this will change now that he had magic, mostly because he is unsure as to how magic will actually change his life.
BOGGART
With his cousin the only person he has left that he can turn to, he would see her, she would be wasting away and she’d be yelling at him, blaming him for everything in her life and it would be obvious to him that she was dying. He is terrified of being the source of his cousin’s misery, of being the reason that she dies with little to her, and without her dreams, he’s terrified of being blamed for everything wrong in her life and having no way of preventing or helping it. He is also just terrified of losing her, he’d still have his grandmother but she’s always been pretty clear that she doesn’t have the time to look after him, so he’d be put into foster care and though it could be just fine, he just has heard so many things about it that he’d be worried about it. He doesn’t have very much but what little he has he holds on to tightly, which is his cousin.
PATRONUS
A Hummingbird
PATRONUS MEMORY
Despite the hardships of his life, Eugene is a very positive and bright person, he is constantly having fun and doing things that make him happy, but the memories he would treasure and the happiness within them that would have the best chance at creating a patronus would be some of the last memories that he had with his mother. He was quite young at the time, but, he remembers starkly about a week before she died, when she’d just chosen to find out the gender of the baby, and she and Eugene went for ice cream and spend time together, it was just a good day together and though his mother was tired, they were able to have fun together. It ended with her reading him a story and them just having a good time. He knows that people might have more explosive memories or ones where simply more happened or where they would have said they were happier, but to him, the fact that he lost his mother so soon after that memory and how good that had made him feel at the time and how it makes him feel now. It was the last time he felt that close to her, and he felt pretty close too to the baby too. It probably should be a memory that makes him sad but he just remembers how good his mother was, how loved she made him feel and he just feels happy because of it.
DEMENTOR
Without competition, it would be when his mother died, everything happened so quickly and he didn’t really understand what was going on. He knew that his mother was having problems, but he went from having a whole and growing family to having neither in the space of one afternoon. He hadn’t been able to say goodbye to his mother, and it took a while for anyone to even really tell him what was going on. He just couldn’t believe it when he was told, it was just horrible, to never be able to see her again, to have lost everything that he’d had. It was the worst day in his life.
VERITISERUM
Eugene would admit that he feels like a burden on his cousin. He knows that he is a strain to her, that this wasn’t what she wanted and her life would be easier and happier if she didn’t have to also worry about him. He would admit that he feels like it would be easier that she just give up on him and put him up for care. He would admit that he wouldn’t think less of her for it, that he’d get it, that he would understand why she would do that and he would always still love her and the effort she put into him. He would admit that he realises that he’s entirely ruined her life even if she won’t say it. Eugene loves his cousin, but he would say that he doesn't think this is what she wants and now with magic, he just admits that he wouldn’t mind if she took this opportunity to kick him out.
MIRROR OF ERISED
Eugene would see his mother and little sister at his side, he would see him playing guitar and in front of a crowd of people that were clearly there to see him play. He would be able to tell that they were happy and comfortable. He desires partly things that are impossible, since his mother and sister both gone, but he would see them because he would desire for his whole family to be there with him. He just regrets that they won’t be a part of his life that he’s lived beyond them both and he’ll never get to have a moment where he tells his mother about the magic, or the opportunity to be proud of his sister for an achievement she managed. He would desire those things and in the mirror he would just know that he got the opportunity to really do that. He would desire to play his guitar and make enough money from it that he could be comfortable, where his mother wouldn’t have had to work. His cousin would be there, but he saw her doing what she wanted and happy to just be his cousin, and not his guardian.
