Age: Ten
Date of Birth: 23rd of August, 2016
Star Sign: Virgo
Birthplace: Tasman Sea/Pacific Ocean, north of Te Reinga, New Zealand
Hometown: Te Kao, New Zealand
Blood Status: Unknown

Physical Appearance
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Height: 4' 5"
Weight: about 70 lbs
Description: Emma is slightly small for her age, skinny, and pale. She is three-fourths Māori, though to most people, she looks white because of her pale skin. Her facial structure and body are built like a native Māori's though, and her hands, feet, and skin have all been toughened from life at sea. Overall, she is a relatively plain-looking girl with shoulder length brown hair and brown eyes, and she likes herself that way.

Emma's Life:
Pets: Kokoleka, or Koko, her large chocolate lab. They met when Emma was a baby and Koko was a pup on the east side of Oahu.
Family: Emma's dad, Tangaroa or just Roa, is a fisherman, though he only fishes enough to feed his family. The rest of his time, he has always spent with Emma, teaching her to be a strong and independent person and respect nature and the sea. Emma's mother, Awa, lives in Te Kao where Emma's school is, and takes care of her while Roa is at sea. Roa and Awa are both native Māori people, though Awa's birth mother was from Germany making her only half-Māori.
Early life: Emma, though technically a resident of Te Kao, has spent most of her life at sea. She was born on her father's canoe just north of Te Reinga, and her parents have always said that Emma caught the soul of some departing wise man, trying to leap to the Underworld when she was born, for the Māori believe that Te Reinga is where the spirits of the dead leap and plunge into the Underworld. After some time at sea, they made it to Oahu where Emma and Kokoleka first met. When the time came for them to leave, Emma and Koko both insisted that Koko come too. From that point on, Koko and Emma have been inseparable, on land or at sea. Finally, the time came for the Elfeirrs' sea travels to come to an end, and they returned to New Zealand just before Emma would begin 1st grade at Te Kao School, a primary school for muggles.
Muggle school: Emma, at first, hated school. She missed the sea and missed her father, as he was often gone on fishing trips, and her mother insisted that they live like muggles (though Emma never heard the word "muggle" growing up). Kokoleka became depressed by Emma's terrible mood and daily absences, though, and Roa reminded Emma that she must learn to enjoy her life no matter what circumstances she may find herself in, so she gave her new life a chance at last. She quickly made friends with her classmates and was soon visiting her new friends or having them over almost all the time. Kokoleka too made many friends and even became the school's unofficial mascot as Emma's classmates all fell in love with the sweet dog.
Academically, Emma started out as a poor student, but by her 3rd year, she had managed to become the top student in her class in everything but history because it bored her. She was on the netball and swimming teams, though her school had no other schools in the area to compete against, so it didn't really count for much. She was also a part of the very small performing arts program and learned to ride horses. Her parents originally meant to keep her in muggle schools and eventually even send her to muggle college, but when Emma saw the letter for HNZ, she made up her mind that she was going, despite not wanting to leave her muggle friends at Te Kao School. Her parents made no effort to change her mind and granted her permission to go.

Personality:
Emma is stubborn and strong-willed. When she makes up her mind, there is no stopping her. Kokoleka, her dog, is nearly an extension of Emma rather than just her dog. Emma, like a dog, is extremely loyal and could never betray someone. Once she loves someone, she loves them whole-heartedly. But stubbornness and loyalty come at a cost; Emma often finds herself resolved in wrong decisions and is unwilling to change her mind, no matter how obvious her mistake may be.

Wonderful start to your development, youhave left room for growth and that is huge( I say this to alot of characters lol) but honestly it is nice it allows you to take a step back and work your way into you character . So lets begin, since this is a younger character I am going to go into the future with it and work my way back. Just to explain briefly for older characters I work from the past fowards because it is the past they we as rp/readers dont know about however you have no past at least not one that is concrete yet so here we go:

You have choosen to go to Hogwart New Zealand Congradulation!

What house do you want to be in the most? Why?
What house do you want to be in the least? why?

Did you parents attend hogwarts if so which branch? Which house were they sorted in? do they wish for you to be in the same house as they were in ? How do you feel about the pressure?

What subject do you think you will be most interested in? Why?
What subject do you think you will be least interested in? Why?

do you have any desire to play quidittch/ If so what posistion would you be interested?

Thanks!
Just wondering, should I put this up in the original post?

What house do you want to be in the most? Why?: Emma has no idea what the houses are like at all, as she'd never even heard much about Hogwarts until her letter came. She'll probably be happy with any house, though she is probably most suited for Gryffindor or Ravenclaw, as most of her family members (who have attended Hogwarts) have been in Ravenclaw.
What house do you want to be in the least? why?: Emma probably wouldn't enjoy being Slytherin at all. While she may possess cunningness, she has very strong morals and could not cross a friend for her own gain.

Did you parents attend Hogwarts? If so which branch? Which house were they sorted in? Do they wish for you to be in the same house as they were in? How do you feel about the pressure?: Emma's father never received any sort of schooling at all, and Emma's mother, a Ravenclaw, left Hogwarts in the middle of her fifth year. Emma's parents haven't pressured her into caring about houses at all and will be happy with whatever house she ends up in.

What subject do you think you will be most interested in? Why?: Emma will probably enjoy subjects like Flying, Herbology, and Care of Magical Creatures most because she feels most comfortable when with nature.
What subject do you think you will be least interested in? Why?: History classes have always been Emma's worst because she gets bored, so anything involving history, like History of Magic or Muggle Studies, will probably bore her.

Do you have any desire to play Quidditch? If so what posistion would you be interested?: Emma has never heard of Quidditch before, nor has she ever ridden a broomstick. She enjoys sports a lot though, so she will probably want to join her house team. She'd make a good Chaser or Keeper. Seeker would never suit her, and though she would excel in protecting her teammates as a Beater, she would not feel right in intending any harm to befall her opponents.

You are free to set your development up anyway you like it is all about what suits you and your taste! I would still post a new response with your answers so others can see what you have added since the originals and what has been asked already. ^_^

So Emmas mother did attend hogwarts but later left the school completely, why? Has magic ever been discussed in the house with you? if not why do you think that is? Is Emma mother a practicing witch? If so how did she learn magic if not at hogwarts?

How does Emma feel about Magic/ Has she ever shown any sign of magic what so ever till now? If so what did she do and where? What was the outcome?

How will Emma handle being away from home for such a long period of time? How will this affect Emmas parents?

Dogs are not common in Hogwarts, if they are not allowed how will Emma handle the seperation from her four legged friend?

Thanks so much for all the questions! They really help!
I decided to change her mother's schooling story just a tad, but this works much better.

So Emma's mother did attend Hogwarts, but later left the school completely; why? Ooh, a lot of backstory here.
Awa's mother (Emma's grandmother and namesake), Emilie Philomena Kaiser, was born and raised in Berlin, Germany by her rich, prominent wizarding family (mother was a mud-blood; father was a pure-blood). She went to Hogwarts Scotland, and was the epitome of the "perfect child": Ravenclaw Prefect, Head Girl, star Quidditch player, loved by teachers and classmates alike, the girl every boy wanted, etc., etc. She was immediately accepted into a Ministry program, along with her long-time boyfriend (who was just as "perfect" as her), and was on track to holding a very prominent position in the wizarding world when she took a trip to the shore and met a sixteen-year-old boy, Huatare Tohuora, who had just stopped on the coast to sell fish and shells before continuing on his journey around the world. He asked her to come with him, and, acting on an impulse far from her usual self, Emilie climbed into his boat with him and left her entire life behind to see the world with him. They fell in love, and Emilie became pregnant with Awa on the trip and gave birth to her shortly after they reached Huatare's hometown of Te Kao.
Emilie loved New Zealand, and she loved all of Huatare's family. There was no question that she'd live in New Zealand with them forever, and Awa and her siblings (there were four of them) were raised just like her Māori cousins. They went to Te Kao School with them, and loved their hometown. When Awa turned eleven, however, a letter came from Hogwarts (Scotland, of course; there was no HNZ then!) for her, and Emilie insisted that she go. After a bit of fighting, the decision was left to Awa: at first hesitant, Awa chose to go in hopes of getting to know her maternal family, and Emilie and Huatare moved the family to Germany.
Emilie's family welcomed Emilie and her children with welcome arms, but her father was initially quite unfriendly with Huatare. Emilie's old boyfriend had married her younger sister, and it as clear that Mr. Kaiser liked him much more than Huatare. Tensions settled though, and Awa was soon being seen onto the train to Hogwarts by her entire maternal family.
Awa at first hated Hogwarts and wanted to go home to New Zealand, but she stuck it out because her siblings, especially her youngest brother, and mother loved Europe, and she eventually grew to love her maternal family just as much as her paternal. After her initial issues at Hogwarts, Awa began to follow in her mother's footsteps. She was clearly just as smart and talented, and was soon known through-out the school as "the Kaiser girl", out-shining even her cousins who had been raised their whole lives as Kaisers.
At the start of her fifth year, she was named Ravenclaw Prefect, rather than her cousin (the daughter of Emilie's little sister), and tensions were suddenly heightened again within the family. Awa tried to make peace with her cousin, but to no avail. After a rather horrible fight with her cousin, Awa ran out of the castle and dove into the lake, dreaming of the New Zealand oceans. To her great surprise, a small sail boat emerged from the water right before her and a boy she was sure she recognized stuck out his hand and told her to get in the boat and leave Hogwarts behind. She hesitated for a moment, but soon found herself sailing the world with the mysterious boy who called himself Tangaroa, god of the Sea. Awa was pregnant by the time they reached New Zealand, where she visited her paternal family before returning to sea with Tangaroa. Emma was born just as they left Te Reinga.

Has magic ever been discussed in the house with Emma? If not, why do you think that is? In Emma's hometown of Te Kao, magic is a part of every day life, even for the muggles, and there is never any need for witches or wizards to hide their abilities, since it is such a small community. The tradition for wizarding families is to keep their children in muggle schools while teaching them magic at home, usually with the help of other adult witches and wizards in the community. This is about the equivalent of homeschooling or even "unschooling" in the muggle world. Since the opening of Hogwarts New Zealand, however, many of the wizarding children have started going to Hogwarts to learn magic once they turn eleven instead of continuing to learn at home.

Is Emma's mother a practicing witch? If so, how did she learn magic if not at Hogwarts? Awa learned magic first while living in Te Kao, as Emma has thus far, and then learned much from her four and a half years at Hogwarts Scotland. Afterwards, Tangaroa and her taught themselves magic as they traveled around the world.

How does Emma feel about Magic? Emma, like her peers in Te Kao, doesn't think as magic as anything out of the ordinary, and accepts it just as much as a part of life as muggles accept superior abilities in academic subjects, sports, arts, etc. Magic is thought of as an ability that witches and wizards excel at more than muggles. "Muggle" is not part of the vocabulary in Te Kao. Even animals are thought to have varying levels of magical ability.

Has she ever shown any sign of magic what so ever till now? If so, what did she do and where? What was the outcome? Due to the nature of Emma's culture, signs of magical ability are not treated any different than any other ability. Emma's magical abilities were apparent with the shaping of her personality. The day Kokoleka and Emma met was perhaps the first clear sign that Emma possessed magical abilities though, for Koko's original owner had Koko's entire liter caged up securely when Emma found them. Koko whined, almost as if explaining the situation to Emma, and so Emma furiously and incoherently (for she had yet to begin to speak in full sentences) protested the injustice, and the locks to each cage flew off, freeing the pups. The other pups ran off with their mother, but Koko stayed with Emma and her family after that.

How will Emma handle being away from home for such a long period of time? As long as Koko is with Emma, she will be just fine being away from home, though she will dearly miss Te Kao. Emma can make friends pretty easily and won't be the only kid from Te Kao at HNZ either, so she will quickly make Hogwarts New Zealand her new home.

How will this affect Emma's parents? Emma's mother plans to get a job either at Hogwarts or in Brightstone and move in there in order to keep close to Emma. Her father, however, will be leaving after Emma leaves for school and won't be back until the holidays, so he can earn more money to help pay for her school expenses.

Dogs are not common in Hogwarts; if they are not allowed, how will Emma handle the seperation from her four legged friend? If dogs aren't allowed at Hogwarts, Emma will either find a loophole or leave. If she absolutely had to, Emma might leave Koko with her mother and sneak out to see Koko as often as possible, but more than likely, Emma will simply find a way to convince whoever she must to let her keep Koko with her. Since Koko is so well-trained, Emma can't see a reason any reason he shouldn't be allowed to stay with her.

What are your goals for after Hogwarts? What do you want be and why?

What are you looking foward to the most? The lease? Why?

What are your goals for after Hogwarts? What do you want be and why? Emma has always loved the sea and has always wanted to just travel the seas forever like her dad, but she has grown to love her hometown and feels a strong sense of responsibility to her community as well, so she also wants to just stay there and do her part as a member of their community. Of course, Emma doesn't really know much about the "wizarding world" right now, so after she starts school and learns more about the wizarding world, she'll probably change her mind again. Emma's just too young to really know her place in the world just yet.

What are you looking foward to the most? The least? Why? Emma is looking forward to the chance to learn about a new way to live more than anything. She's only heard little bits about the wizarding world, and now she's really excited to find out what it's like. Spending so much time without seeing her father though will be hard for her; besides Koko, her father is the closest person to her. She's also going to miss all of her friends who aren't going to HNZ and the entire community.
