- Fir Wand 14 1/8" Essence of Sphinx Remains
Full Name:
- Elsa Marina Seymour
'Elsa' comes from 'Elizabeth', which was her great-aunt's name. 'Marina' means 'from the sea', and comes from her family's closeness to the sea - evident also in the surname 'Seymour', which, you guessed it, comes from the words 'sea' and 'lake'.
Date of Birth:
- February 5, 2020, making her an Aquarius.
Current Age:
- Ten.
Basic Appearance:
- Elsa looks small, standing at about 4'6" with a fairly small frame, but she's fairly strong. Lots of swimming and sailing has given her slight muscle definition, and skin that is always tanned in summer. She has long blonde hair that is usually kept quite neat, with bright blue eyes that sparkle with intelligence and hidden thoughts. She's quick to make a sly joke, at which her lips will inevitably curl up in to amusement. She's a relatively pretty girl, but nothing overly spectacular.
Personality:
- Elsa is a bright, intelligent girl, who is always quite honest and upfront with things. Unless she's done something wrong and is avoiding getting in trouble...but she tells the truth in the end. However, sometimes she's a little too honest, and inadvertently hurts the feelings of others by being too frank in her opinions. She can also be a bit cold and calculating, despite her general friendliness, which causes people to be a little wary of her. She can be introverted at times, although it is more that she just likes her own company just as much as the company of others.
Family:
- Elsa lives with her mother and mother's partner. Her mother, Annabelle, (everyone calls her Annie), is a motherly woman who writes self-help and advice columns for women's magazines, as well as contributing recipes and home tips to said magazines. She's relatively short, standing only at 5'5", and has light brown hair and spectacles, which make her look rather refined, standoffish even, however anyone who believes that quickly finds out what a warm and loving woman Annie is. Annie's partner, Catherine, however, is the absolute opposite, being a tall (6'1"), raven haired, cool tempered woman, very slow to show affection (although Annie and even Elsa know that she's a very loving person). Catherine also writes, in her case, she writes poetry and gives lectures on poetic expression. She is neat where Annie is...less so. They are as different as chalk and cheese, but they love each other and they both love Elsa very much.
Elsa's mother and father were never married, but were planning on it for a time before Annie came to terms with her preference for women. Her father, from what Annie said, understood, and helped out with money and looking after Elsa as much as he could, but one day, when Elsa was only two years old, he went sailing on the Bass Strait and never returned. He was never seen or heard from again, presumed dead. It was soon after that that Annie moved to Sydney, taking Elsa with her, and when Elsa was six, Annie met Catherine and the rest is history.
Still, Elsa loves the ocean, just like her father, and while Annie worries, Elsa loves to sail, just like her father did.
Pets:
- Annie and Catherine each own their own owl, however Elsa doesn't have a pet to call her own. She hopes to purchase an owl when she goes away to school.
Area of Residence:
- Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Elsa was born in Port Fairy, on the southern Victorian coast, however after the death of her father, Elsa and Annie moved to Sydney to start afresh. Her grandparents (maternal and paternal) still live in Victoria, and Elsa visits them occaisionally.
Blood Status:
- Mixed blood.
Heritage:
- Elsa's family have been settled in Australia for a couple of generations. Both sides of the family are magical - or at least, have been for about 4 generations or so. The wizards in her family were all educated at Hogwarts in Scotland. Her father's family, before being wizards, were all sea-faring, being sailors, fishermen and such, a tradition that carries on even with magical blood. The Seymour family has always had a water affinity.
Special Abilities:
- n/a
Interests or Hobbies:
- Elsa likes sailing and fishing (she is a Seymour, after all). She loves to swim and was a local swimming club champion. Water is like a second home to her. She's also very interested in maths and calcuations, being a very good navigator. Aside from that, she enjoys reading and puzzles.
Additional Skills:
- It seems rather mundane, but she has an aptitude for directions and navigation, as well as telling the time relatively accurately without a clock device. She can hold her breath for decent periods of time, too.
Strengths:
- Her mathematical ability, her intelligent, calculating mind, and her honesty.
Weaknesses:
- Her fear of heights, her frankness (at times), her coldness and haughtiness, and at times, her recklessness.
Describe your character in three words:
- Calculating, honest, aquatic.
Favourite place to be:
- In the ocean, naturally. Or on a boat. Or by the sea. Just anywhere near water.
Friends:
- Elsa doesn't really have many good friends, but there's a couple of girls her age in the apartment building she lives in that she talks to and gets along with. Annie always pressures her to bring friends home (to which Elsa always reminds her that she will be going away to Hogwarts, presumably, soon enough), but Elsa's usually pretty reluctant, mostly because of the fact that she will be going away but also because she's worried what people might think of her family and would hate to have any aspersions cast upon them.
Hogwarts House:
- n/a
Hogwarts Hopes and Ambitions:
- Elsa would like to learn all she can in order to be a powerful witch. No, sorceress. Sorceress sounds way better than 'witch'. Anyway, she wants to be more than a simple fisherwoman or self-helping witch. She wants to be refined, powerful and peerless. She hopes that Hogwarts will set her on that path.
Best school subjects:
- At her muggle school, Maths.
Worst school subjects:
- Elsa was absolutely appalling at Art. Everything else she was pretty good at.
Extracurricular Activities:
- At home, sailing and swimming, also being part of the local Library Club. Her mother tried to get her to play musical instruments and for a while she learnt the flute, but she didn't enjoy it much. Gymnastics was another spectacular failure. Elsa is not uncoordinated, and she enjoys sport, it's just that that wasn't exactly her thing.
Graduation:
- n/a
Plans for your future:
- She doesn't know yet, hasn't even thought about it. She just doesn't want to be in a boring job like her mother's. She wants to do something amazing.
Your Patronus:
- Don't know. It would probably be something aquatic, though, like a dolphin.
Your Patronus memory:
- It would be the first time she sailed a boat by herself, when she was only seven years old. The instructors had never seen someone take to sailing as quickly as Elsa had, especially someone as young as her. It was in her blood, after all. The feeling of satisfaction she got sailing around the harbour, the fresh breeze blowing through her hair, the smiles and genuine awe she'd received...those are feelings Elsa will never forget.
Your Boggart:
- Elsa is deathly afraid of cockroaches. Her boggart would be a cockroach. Bonus points if it makes it seem as though she's in a high place.
Your Animagus:
- Hard to say. A marine creature, of course, but one that could survive on water as well as land. Perhaps a crocodile?
Mirror of Erised:
- Elsa herself, as a powerful sorceress, looking composed and beautiful standing in the midst of waves.
A page from your diary:
- Today is my birthday! I turned 10. Mum wanted me to have a party but I didn't want to because I didn't know who to invite. School started last week but today was sports and we got to go swimming which was heaps of fun. I love swimming! Mum made me a birthday cake and she put a slice in my lunch and it was really yummy! Mum and Catherine are taking me out to dinner tonight and then we might get icecream too yay! And then on the weekend I get to go sailing and maybe to the beach! Except I have to do an art project too which isn't really fun at all....
