Thalia almost couldn't believe that her first year was already over, and her sister was already at Hogwarts with the twins and Artemis. Thalia was happy that she was, because now they could all hang out together like the big happy family that they were. She had also been encouraged to try out for the Quidditch team, which was an improvement considering she barely enjoyed being on a broom during flying class last year. She had never been a fan of flying, but Quidditch did seem like fun. Not being hit by bludgers, obviously, but the rest wasn't half bad, she thought. The Ravenclaw wanted to get more involved, slowly, and during the break, next to practicing her flying skills with her sisters, she had been writing more too. She had always been able to express her thoughts, feelings and opinions on paper, somehow. She preferred it that way to talking a lot, or in front of a large group, 'cause that was quite a scary thing. She definitely wasn't afraid of writing ideas down, she generally had lots.
Thalia figured that if she could get some writing down before classes started to fill up her free time, then she could also get some early reading for her subjects done. She hadn't done spectacularly well, last year, but she was ready to improve and do her very best, and make herself and family proud of her efforts. She knew she could do it, that wasn't the issue. She just...had to do it. Had to use the smart brains she knew she had. The second year grabbed her bag full of most of her textbooks and the first few pages of her hopefully soon-to-be novel and headed to the library, hoping it wasn't already full. Probably not, considering the first week of term had yet to come, although as expected there were a few much older students. OWL or NEWT. That was something Thalia was relieved not to have to think about for a while longer. She settled on a table that was in a secluded corner of the library, away from others so she wouldn't be disturbed, and so she wouldn't disturb other people. Her sister was probably exploring the castle, but the Ravenclaw didn't mind, it just meant she could have this time to herself. She opened her Charms textbook and began to read, soon getting lost in the different spells she was to learn this semester.

Roxas didn't generally spend a lot of time by himself for a lot of reasons though most of those reasons had to do with his stupid brothers. He liked to spend as much time away from them as possible as they generally got slap happy this early in the semester because of the frustration of the first week of school. It was always a weird limbo when people were still settling in again. He could walk through the corridors and see no one and then come back an hour later and just see a cacophony of things. Still, it wasn't like he could complain, he couldn't because he kind of liked it this way. The masses was what kept him safe after all, because his brothers could hardly come after him if he was in a crowd. He wasn't looking forward to having to do their homework for them this year though, that wasn't going to be fun at all. He pouted as he thought about all the extra work he would have to do, he just hoped they would give him more of a break than they gave him last year, because he'd done badly in classes because of it all. He was annoyed about it, but there was nothing he could do about it now. He just had to improve. As he walked into the library, having decided he would need to get ahead if he was going to keep up, Roxas headed over to one of the desks and was a little surprised to see Thalia. "Oh! Hey Thalia, can I come sit here with you, do you mind?" He would prefer to sit with someone, but if she said no he would sit on his own, even though he didn't want to really.

Thalia was so absorbed in her charms textbook, that when she made a move to grab her quill and some parchment, she nearly jumped out of her seat, getting a fright from the voice that had just spoken. She looked up, and instantly blushed, that had been embarrassing. She always somehow managed to embarrass herself in front of others, which didn’t help her complete insecurity when it came to socialising. "Oh, of course you can, I don’t mind at all," she said softly, giving Roxas a small smile. She didn’t mind, although she suddenly felt very self-conscious. She hadn’t really talked to her classmate much last year, so she barely knew him, but she did know he was nice, like most people she had met at the school. She wondered why he had picked her table instead of going to find one where he had all the space to himself, but she didn’t question it further. Or worse, out loud. "I hope I’m not taking up all the space," she added as an afterthought, really not wanting to be in his way, or anything. She moved her things closer to her side just in case. She didn’t want to upset him.

ehehehehe yep, so sorry
Roxas liked Thalia for the most part. He didn't really know her specifically well so all he had to go off of was their interactions around class, which wasn't much since they weren't in all the same classes, only some. Well, they did have Defence Against the Dark Arts together, so that was something. He grinned at her at her as she said he could sit with her. "Thanks! I didn't want to sit by myself, I tend to get bothered by people a lot when they think I'm by myself because they want the table... which I realise I've just done to you, so sorry for that!" He said, sitting down and pulling his textbooks out of his bag. He wasn't doing any essay's yet, most of this would be to go over the stuff from last year, because he felt it was important to revise, especially since he't not exactly had the best grades. Though eh was trying to change that. "You're fine! It's not bothering me at all," he said, quickly rushing to make sure she was aware of that because he didn't want her to think she was bothering him at all. "I'll just move over a little bit, yeah?" he asked, moving his stuff a bit aside to give her a bit more room.

Thalia smiled back at Roxas as he beamed at her, relieved that seeing as someone approached her it was someone friendly and that Thalia knew. Sort of. She didn't actually really know Roxas well at all. "Oh, don't worry about it," she said quickly in response to him apologising for taking the table. "It's okay you didn't actually take that much space," she said, hating herself for being so nervous and being able to hear it in her voice. It was just her classmate so why was she feeling so flustered? Maybe because he was such a cheerful, talkative person, or something? "I understand not wanting to be alone though," she added softly, taking a few deep breaths to calm her nerves. Ugh. She strongly disliked her timidness. "Oh. Th-Thanks," she stammered when Roxas just decided to give her more space. She didn't want to irritate him or anything so she didn't try to argue. She debated whether she should speak or just let him study. She did not want to bother him after all. After a few moments, she glanced up at the Hufflepuff. "What are you working on?" she asked, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
