Birch Wand, 14' 1/4" Essence of Dragonstone
Full Name
Duncan Lycurgus Achan Procyon Wraxvalt.

Date of Birth
13th of June, 2018.

Current Age
Ten.

Blood Status
Half Blood

Area of Residence
Undisclosed area of New Zealand.

Basic Appearance
Very dark brown, bordering black, short hair, blue eyes, caucasian, four feet, ten inches.
Wears mostly browns, greys, blacks and blues.
Has three small scars on his leg from sticking his leg through the front door.

Personality
Duncan can be a little mischievous at times, though he does have some respect for the rules, and believes that there is a line not to be overstepped. He is not the sort to demand people to do what he wants, and if he finds something worth fighting for that no-one will back him up on, he will march into battle on his own. This sort of behaviour could be considered foolish, at times, but Duncan has little regard for how others look upon him. The only people he cares for the opinions of, are his nearest and dearest friends. He may possess some intelligence, but this does not mean Duncan will always pay attention to smart advice, or think before he leaps. He does enjoy discovering new things, though he is more of a physical learner than a reader. He has a tendency to get into fights with bullies, and he wont back down from a fight, which is perhaps his weakness.
Though he may seem a bit cocky, bordering on arrogant, Duncan actually has a side that does think and feel deeper than is obvious for him. While he may come across as uncaring of the troubles of others, there is a side of Duncan that very few have seen, the side that shows sympathy, and explains that there is more to him than first may been seen. He is still a pain in the backside, though, no matter how much he likes people.

Pets
The Wraxvalt family great horned owl, Pennyfeather, has been in the family since 2023, and was a gift from Achan Dagsworth, in celebration of Harry Wraxvalt's birth.
Agrippa, the streeler, is the shared pet of Duncan and Harry Wraxvalt. Mafalda Wraxvalt has assured her sons that neither will be taking 'that creature' to Hogwarts as a pet.
Duncan would most like an owl of his own for when he has started at Hogwarts.

Special Abilities
None known.

Activities
Causing mischief, seeing Quidditch matches with Michael Wraxvalt, playing games like hide and seek, getting into fist fights with bullies, making miniature model villages, hibernating when it's a cold morning.

Additional Skills
Very good at creating makeshift waterbombs, can balance a quill on his nose, did once own a children's broomstick, but broke it when he accidentally flew it into the front door, resulting in the small scars on his leg when it went through the front door. He hasn't been allowed a broom, since.

Strengths
Duncan can resist the lure of power when people attempt to hand it to him. He much prefers a group of equals, to a group of followers. However, physically, Duncan isn't bad at throwing the odd punch or two. He is not the best fighter, but he is good enough to give his opponents a bloody nose or a fat lip, if required of him.
Duncan has watched Quidditch enough times to memorize quite a few of the moves, and should he ever attempt to get on a Quidditch team at Hogwarts, he would likely make a decent player, if not a bit of a show-off, at times.

Weaknesses
Duncan struggles to back down from a fight. When someone really gets his hackles up, constantly attacking the things closest to his heart, he finds himself truly incapable of backing down from a fight, regardless of his chances of winning. Duncan does not fight to win, but to defend the honour of his family, friends, and other close connections. Duncan needs a good friend or two to hold him back from violently 'defending' himself and others.
Duncan can be something of a show-off when in his element. He does not do this in a tormenting manner, and he cannot help himself. Most people just accept this behaviour as typical Duncan, and, in some cases, it can morph into a lovable quality.

Describe your character in three words
Saving your butt.

Favourite place to be
At a Quidditch match with his dad. Nothing is more heartfelt and exciting than a few days camping with his father, and then attending a wild Quidditch match among thousands of other wizarding folk.

Friends
Duncan has a few muggle friends from his primary school, but he has mostly kept his distance from muggle children for the sake of his family and the rest of the wizarding world, though he does have one close muggle friend (Tom) who is known as the 'strange one' of their school year, and he spends most of his time following Duncan around the place. He is the only person Duncan has ever had back to his house, and Tom only came over the one time as it took so much organisation to get the place in working order without a hint of magic.
Duncan will miss Tom when he goes to Hogwarts, but he has promised to see him in the summer holidays (Tom thinks he's just heading off to some boarding school because of the mischief he has caused at school). It's unlikely that Duncan will struggle to make at least one good friend in the wizarding world, though if he finds someone else who enjoys a good laugh, then so help Hogwarts.

Hogwarts House
Duncan has no idea which house he would be in, and he honestly doesn't care, because he's going to Hogwarts to learn magic.

Hogwarts Hopes and Ambitions
Duncan hopes to learn something, have a laugh, watch a Quidditch match, scrape a few decent grades, and just generally hopes for the best to come within his wizarding education years.

Best school subjects
Duncan might surprise everyone by flourishing in a completely mundane subject that is, as good as, restricted to the classroom. He'd benefit from a Professor who is not too strict, but will keep him in line. His mother was good at History of Magic, Arithmancy, and Transfiguration, his father, on the other hand, was a dab hand at Potions, Divination, and Charms. Duncan has inherited his father's enthusiasm for Quidditch, though whether that will have any effect on his flying skill, is unknown. Purely because he has grown up in the wizarding world, Duncan may do well at History of Magic.

Worst school subjects
Duncan does sometimes find it difficult to focus in classes he finds dull, so any class that does not feed him with enough information to keep his mind healthy, will find itself at the bottom of his 'most enjoyable' list. Potentially, this could be something like History of Magic, for the same reasons that he might do well. Alternatively, it could be something more like Potions if there is little actually going on. As Astronomy isn't particularly 'running, jumping, climbing trees' anyway, Duncan would not expect much out of the class, and may just manage to enjoy what bit of entertainment he can find.

Extracurricular Activities
Duncan would probably give Quidditch a go, once he was old enough to try out, and he would unlikely try out for the position of seeker, as he's more fond of getting stuck in. Perhaps a beater position would be more up his street.
He would probably sign up for a club that he thought would be fun and good to relax in. Possibility muggle sports, or maybe something to cater to another side of him.

Graduation
N/A

Current Job
Student

Plans for your future
Duncan intends to survive his time at Hogwarts, preferably with the odd 'Outstanding', here and there to keep his parents happy, and to then get a job that can grab his attention. He's uncertain as to what career he's aiming for, though he will likely wait until he knows exactly what interests him, other than Quidditch as, though it may be a wonderfully glamourous lifestyle, Duncan is not amazingly interested in spending the rest of his life playing Quidditch, and would rather something a little more 'worthwhile'.
He hasn't even thought about getting married or having kids, and he likely wont have any interest in the other gender for a good couple of years, at least.

Your Patronus
Possibly something very stable and strong, but could also be considered something quite fun.
Maybe a coyote, culpeo, or raccoon dog.

Your Patronus memory
Currently, it would be the memory of his first Quidditch match that he saw with his father, and how alive he felt, and all the noise and commotion that comes with such an event, and the scents and light, and the players soaring past.

Your Boggart
It would be a physical object, rather than a feeling, as such. Though there is no way to know what his boggart will actually be, there are a couple of suspects on the list, such as the banshee (a creature that Duncan once read about in a history book, and the sketches were rather frightening to his young mind, along with what a banshee signifies), or possibly a mummy (they have always caused Duncan to shudder, even just at the thought).

Your Animagus
Something of the canine family. It would probably take form of his strong hearted, occasionally aggressive qualities, though it would have to be something that could easily be good fun, and would assist those he cares about. So, probably a dog. Maybe a rottweiler.

Mirror of Erised
Duncan would see his dad, himself, and the Wigtown Wanderers, all dressed for a Quidditch match. Though he hasn't really been keen on the idea of playing Quidditch as a career, this is mostly due to the fact that regardless of his upbringing, Duncan has never flown, before. However, if, on one of their visits back to the UK to see a Quidditch match, the Wigtown Wanderers asked Duncan to play for them, he would leap at the opportunity, regardless of his lack in practice, as long as they let his dad join, too. He does rather like the idea, though, of just meeting the Wigtown Wanderers and getting a signed picture with them.

A page from your diary
Duncan would unlikely ever bother with a diary. If he did have one, it would probably have been a Christmas present, which would lay in the corner of the room beneath a model of a golden snitch, and would be full of crumbled pieces of paper bearing names, birthdays, and explanations as to why the Wigtown Wanderers (his father's favourite team) are better than the Montrose Magpies (his mother's favourite team, though she is not overly enthusiastic about the game).

Hi Beth! Thought I would ask you a few questions on your character here.

1. Duncan seems to have a rather long name. Is there a reason on why he has three middle names and how does he feel about them?
2. His personality seems to be fit between a Slytherin and a Gryffindor. Since he was sorted into Gryffindor, does he like the house he is in? Does he have any housemates that he is close to?
3. Would he feel bad if he had gotten in trouble and lost his house some points?
4. Will Duncan try out for the Quidditch house team? I see that he would try out for a beater, do you think he would be any good at it with older students with those positions?
5. How did he find out that he can balance a quill on his nose?
6. The three word description was kinda funny, so does he seem to have this heroic trait?
7. Do you think Duncan will have many friends at school, or just a close two or three?
8. Who is his closest family member and why?
9. Is there anyone in his family that he doesn't particularily get along with?

That's about it for now.

Hello, thank you for your questions.

1. He found it quite difficult as a very small child, trying to remember how to spell and write each one, though he has since grown used to it. Especially when he misbehaves at home and his mother uses his full name to scold him. The name 'Achan' belonged to his grandfather, and was chosen to honour him. The name 'Procyon' was chosen by his mother, and was to be his second middle name. However, Duncan's father got rather drunk the week before Duncan's birth and was gambling with a few friends. The bets went a little too far, and while he managed to win back most things, he had lost out on one strong bet, the consequence of which was giving Duncan the middle name of 'Lycurgus'- a name chosen by his uncle, Paul Dagsworth, and one that Duncan's mother hated.

2. He loves the house he is in and he is most grateful that he did not end up in Slytherin, which seemed to be a particularly close call. He's more bonded to a Hufflepuff boy named Erik Drage, a boy whom he met just prior to the sorting ceremony. The two of them wreak havoc about the castle, and are equally bad influences upon each other. He's also close to a few other Hufflepuffs, but there are a couple of Gryffindor girls that he has gotten on quite well with.

3. Yes, he would feel bad for the sake of his house, and probably upset that he'd let them down.. But he would get over it very fast and be back to his usual tricks. He doesn't mind taking the punishment for misbehaving. He knows he prefers it.

4. I think he would be up for giving it a go when he's a little taller and stronger, yes. I'm sure he'd love to try out, and with his level of self-confidence, I'm certain he would not be off put by the older students. If anything, it would urge him on to really work at being a good team player and bonding with the other students.

5. One boring afternoon alone in his room doing homework.

6. He is very good at bluffing his way out of things, and getting others out of trouble. He will take a punch for a friend. He's still a cocky idiot, but his heart is in the right place.

7. I think he will have a few close friends. He has quite a few student friends, but only really one or two really close friends.

8. Probably his dad because they have a laugh and have gotten to know each other's sense of humour over the years.

9. I think he gets on with most of his family members, but I do think he finds his muggle cousin a little difficult to talk to, as he must censor out parts of his wizarding background.
