Alice entered the library. She had been there a few times before, and had felt the need to return. It was a quiet haven where she could relax and think, wondering about her time at Hogwarts so far. She was fed up with all the quidditch talk going on, what with the trials for house teams, soon to take place. She had left the Ravenclaw common room, and found the library after travelling an extended route around the stairs after they refused to help her. She knew that it was ridiculous, but it felt as if they were trying to delay her arrival in the library.
Sighing, she sat down in a chair and curled her feet up underneath her. Swinging her bag off her shoulder, she grabbed out her book and opened it to the familiar dog-eared pages. She loved reading more than anything else, even more than music. It felt as if she could escape into someone else's world, surrounded by their troubles and adventures, rather than facing the harsh and cruel world that she knew as reality. Ok, so maybe she was exaggerating a little when she put it like this. She had friends and a good family, and a lovely new school. But sometimes, it felt better to go into a familiar book and submit herself completely to the words in the book, letting them fill her up and relax her into life itself.
