Hogwarts was a beautiful place and Bryony didn't think that she would ever go to a school like it, despite the beauty everything was so alien to her. There was no hint of normalcy in the school, wherever she went there was something strange. Moving pictures, writing with quills, no plugs?! She decided to try and find a nice green, open spot where she could find some quiet to think things over. The rosebush seemed like a perfect place to find some serenity. Thankfully, Bryony was one of the only people there. She guessed that all of the new first years were inside the castle meeting new friends and getting familiar with their new surroundings. She couldn't do the same unfortunately, making new friends didn't come naturally to her which she wished she could change.

Tahi was bummed when she received her verdict. The stupid Hat didn't know what he was doing. She was supposed to be a Gryffindor. A freakin' Gryff. But no, she had to be a Slytherin. A little snake. She burst out of the castle and searched for a place to drop. Her jet black hair was swept away by the breeze as she was heading to a random place. Besides it was her first time to wander outside of the Castle.

After some time she found herself tired from all the walking and noticed that she was in some kind of Garden. The air was fresh, her surrounding was well, green and Tahi felt a little bit, just a little bit calm than usual. As she roamed her eyes around she spotted a girl, the same age with her, probably. 'Oh, a potential friend. Maybe I should approach her.' she thought. As Blythe's steps went nearer towards her fellow firstie her anxiousness grew more and more. It was reasonable of course since she had this mean look which is the reason why almost everybody stereotyped her.

Well, it's worth a shot.

"Hey."

Kayla was on cloud nine these days. She loved Hogwarts, everything about it. She had been to so many new places, seen so many new things. She was almost overwhelmed by what she had already learned and they hadn't even started classes yet! She loved walking through the school and imagining what her Dad's life had been like here. She had cried, she wasn't ashamed to admit it. This was the closest she had been to her father in nine years. She was too young at the time she fully grasp the significance of what had happened to her life. She hadn't been able to mourn properly. It was only when she found out he had been a wizard that she had felt this bond between them. It was their special secret, something that connected just them. It had made her both sad and happy because although it made her feel closer to him, she regretted that he wasn't here with her now, teaching her all about music and being just as excited as she was about Hogwarts.

Pushing these thoughts aside , Kayla was walking along the lake. She longed to dive down into the water and explore but alas it was her fear of water that held her back. Even though she was well away from it, she didn't feel comfortable. Her father's killer was just a few feet away. This didn't stop her from walking along here. The scenery was beautiful and she just concentrated on this instead. She walked further than she had before and came across a huddle of trees and bushes. Curiously she delved deeper into the growth and suddenly came across two girls. Kayla instantly smiled "Hello"She chirped walking closer to them.

Soon enough the serenity was broken when a girl walked over to Bryony to say hello. She couldn't decide if she was annoyed by the interruption or thankful for it. It was an excuse to talk to more people and to make more friends but she was expecting to spend the afternoon alone. She could freeze the girl out, which was her usual technique but before she could decide what to do another girl joined them. Bryony rolled her eyes, this was it. She couldn't freeze both the girls out, she would have to speak to them. She needed all the friends she could get though, she needed to stop being so antisocial and shy all the time, she needed to change her attitude and this was her chance.

She smiled at both of the girls and scooted over on the bench in case they wanted to sit down and join her. "Hello" she replied to both of them. The girls looked like they were around Bryony's own age which was good at least. She found talking to older students incredibly overwhelming. "Do you want to sit?" Bryony asked, gesturing to the free space on the bench. There was an uncomfortable silence that she had to sit through and she hoped one of the other girls would strike up a conversation first.
