It was just the day after the sorting ceremony and Alkander was conducting some renovations in the abandoned classroom that had served multifarious students' needs for years. He was planning to occupy the classroom after his classes since last night. Unlike his first year, he was planning to work harder and earn better grades for his dream to become an auror remained undying and stronger than ever. He could have used any of the secret areas and rooms he had discovered throughout his first year but this classroom already offered some of the equipment he was planning to use.
While he wasn't exactly the person who could be contained behind book pages, he was planning to start training in dueling and practice the spells he was taught in his first year. He was delighted to find among the things stored in the abandoned classroom, a wooden, dueling dummy he had noticed before, wielding a fake wand. He made some empty space at one side of the room by moving objects at the opposite side, casting the levitation charm on objects that were small enough. He placed the dummy at the newly empty space before he started gathering a variety of fragile objects such as pottery. He installed them all around the room, on high selves or down on the floor among other stuff.
Once everything was in order as he wished, he dropped his backpack at a corner of the classroom and positioned himself at the center of the room. Alkander flourished his wand and launched immediately into vigorous spell casting. Jets of light were flying towards every direction as he rotated his aim all around him. Flashes of different colors bathed the walls, breaking ceramic sounds clashed and pottery shards scattered on the floor. "Expelliarmus!" The havoc concluded with the disarming of the dummy. Alkander grasped in the air the fake wand and smiled to himself content.
After many mending charms on the broken pottery and tidying-up of the mess caused by his missed casts, he stepped back at his spot. Having a brainstorm, he decided to attempt something more challenging. The plan was to summon objects to his location and then try to either block them or smash them with a spell before they were going to smash on his head. Without considering thoroughly the possibility to end up at the hospital wing with a concussion, he pointed his bone-white wand at a vase.
"Accio vase!" The porcelain container yanked off the shelf and zoomed towards the second year as a white blur. It was so fast that Alkander reflexively ducked his head to avoid the swooping object that darted over him and towards the door.
