It was valentines day. Selene had been so busy delivering roses that she had hardly any time to spend with her girlfriend. They had got dressed up and had gone to the great hall. It had been fun getting their pictures taken but there were so many people around the romantic feeling felt so fake almost suffocating. Selene wasn't sure who had suggested it first but they had filled up plates and got some punch and made their way outside. the fullmoon lit up the grounds baiting the world in soft silver light. night was selenes favourite time of the day the dark hours always ut her at ese, at least when she was awake. she felt herself relax as they ran accross the grass towards the lake. once she had put down her plate Selene took nells hand. "would you care for a dance" she said smiling at her girlfriend and the impromptuness of the situation. the sound of music that had followed them out of the castle could hardly be heard here. but it didn't matter. Two people didn't need music to dance together just the beat of their hearts and their heads could fill in the melody.

Nell didn't think tonight could be any more perfect. The dance had been beautiful, but it was so busy and loud, and it felt... special to sneak way from all that with Selene for their own secret party. She giggled in delight as they ran across the grass in the dark, enjoying the warm night air on her skin. Something about the way the moonlight shone across the grounds made the outdoors feel even more magical than the indoors. She set her plate down once they reached the side of the lake, staring out over the water for a long moment, just enjoying the peace. She grinned when Selene took her hand, squeezing back softly. "I would love that." Nell beamed, raising Selene's hand up and resting her other hand on her hip gently as she began to sway with her to imaginary music. "This is perfect." Nell whispered, smiling warmly.

Selene took nells hand in hers and they swayed together the grass tickling her feet as she had kicked her sandals off. she could feel nell as they moved together the warmth of her body penetrating through the fabric of her suit. they swayed together and she had to smile as nell said that it was perfect, she hoped that it was. to her time spent with nell was perfect. she spun nell as she tried to push away the half-formed memories of a forgotten dream that had let her feeling empty inside. she couldn't remember what she had dreamed but when she had woken she had felt like something inside her was hollow. "yes tonight is perfect" she said there was nothing that she would be able to change to make it better only that nagging feeling inside her though she tried to ignore it and not let it show. she brushed a strand of hair out of nells face and looked into her hazel eyes that almost looked like dark pools in the moonlight. "you are perfect nell, i love you" she said not sure what had prompted it, the moon on the water having nell so close, the busyness of the day followed with the cool stillness of the night.

Nell had never really expected to feel like she was living in a romance novel, but she certainly felt that way now, swaying with Selene beneath the moonlight. The bright silver lit up her girlfriend's enchanting mis-matched eyes, and Nell beamed warmly as Selene brushed a hair from her face. "I love you too." She whispered softly, leaning in to gently press her lips to Selene's. The stillness and silence of the warm summer night around them felt like a frozen moment in time, as though they had stepped out of time altogether, into an eternal moment that belonged just to them.

Selene had let her dreams rule her life for far too long. dictating when she was awake and when she was not. leaving her terified of going to sleep. she was not going to let them ruin this. no. she wanted to suppress the thought but the more she pushed it aside it the louder it became. she then used an old trick that she had learned many many years before and focusing on something different something right there and then she focused on the music and their movements. it worked taking her mind off the dream. she smiled as nell said that she loved her. she hoped that it was true. she didn't have time to get a thought in sideways before nells lips were in hers and they were kissing. she was aware of nells body against hers, the subtleties of her smell with the addition of roses that seemed to have stuck to everything today. their kiss broke apart but she didn't let go of nell part of her feeling that if she did she would be gone forever like some phantom. she didnt want to say anything for fear of breaking the moment

((nell wasnt in your list of charictor smells but i assumed everything would smell faintly of roses today. ))
