Dafont conversion?

I use Macromedia Fireworks for my banners, but I've tried to use the Dafont.com fonts, but It won't let me use them.
Is there a certain way to get them in there?
I also have gimp, but I have no idea on how to make banners on it. I'm sure I could figure it out but it would take a lot of time. ^^
Also, to anyone wondering what fireworks is, it's a image editor that also creates symbols. I have the 2004 version, which was better than the 2004 Photoshop of it's day. Fireworks is basically the same thing as photoshop, but it has more options.
If anyone can help or figure it out I would greatly appreciate it.

Do the fonts work in anything at all?
Fonts from DaFont do work in Fireworks, as far as I know.
It might just be you haven't installed them right. :-?
