Rain was cruising along just under the skin of the water's surface. It was spring so students would be coming down to the lake more and rain couldnt be happier. Rain took a quick dive down in the water before steadying herself looking around for a bit. Rain shot up and did a backflip out of the water. her blonde hair shimmering with the sun as it danced off the water. Quickly diving back in Rain swam over to a shallow area of rocks. jumping up onto one happily she pulled her body up followed by her long tail it looked was so heavy to pull around out of the water. she looked around. she hated not being able to speak above water. as the water Drained off Rain's hair slowly she looked around. she could see the lawn. She longed to lie on that lawn. Sure the water was fun. but she wished she could atleast touch grass. Rain had always hoped that the lake would flood allowing her to be able to swim over to the grass but she knew that it would never happen. Rain flicked her tail around aimlessly day dreaming.

Elli had just finished breakfast in the Great Hall. After checking her timetable she realised she didn't have a class until after break, and so headed out to the Lakefront, her favorite place on the grounds. Harriet had left Hogwarts the week before, and although Ellie realised that she must have problems in her family and had to be there for them, whatever and how big they were, she was still upset. She had barely left her dorm room the week before, for she felt like she had noone left, and she hadn't been herself, she still wasn't herself, not entirely, although she hadn't cried in days. As she drew closer to the edge of the Lake Ellie noticed something, or someone sitting on the rocks there. It can't be.. Ellie thought, spotting a tail and instantly thinking the person was a mermaid, before realising the person was most likely a mermaid. She was at Hogwarts after all, and she'd always knew there were merpeople in the Lake, she'd just never seen one! Walking over to were the mermaid was Ellie sat herself down. "H.. Hi" she said, a grin spread accross her face. She knew that merpeople couldn't talk above the water and she knew that some of them could be very vicious, so she just hoped this mermaid wasn't!

Rain dipped the end of her tail in the water. she was bored she saw someone walk down to the lake. she immediatly propped up a bit. she knew that they couldnt not see her. from the top up she looked like a human just lying on a rock. but if they looked down they could see a Long Tail. When the Girl approached her she opened her mouth to say hi but she didnt want to scare her away. Rain Waved. she pulled herself further up onto the rock.
