Scorpius was returning from a long, hard day of 'broom skating' on the pitch with Hoshi and Sam. His elbows felt really bruised up from the newly invented sport so he rubbed them as he began making his way back to the tower. His knees weren't doing too well either, standing on his broom as he tried to ride it and then falling on the hard ground didn't exactly keep them safe from being bruised.

He decided to stop by a random unused classroom just to rest for a bit before he had to climb all the stairs up to the tower and it wasn't until he sat down on the professor's desk that he realized this was the same classroom in which he and Beau had fought. From the looks of it, it didn't seem to have been touched, or cleaned, at all since then. Reflexively, Scorpius's hands curled into fists and he scowled to himself at the remembrance of that day. He knew now that perhaps he had been a little too rash and forward, but that was when he had liked Toni back then so he couldn't help his jealousy. He tried to relax and uncurled his fists because there was no need to get so angry right now so he instead ruffled his hair that was wet with melted snow. He didn't know what he'd do if he saw Beau again, but he knew he had to learn to control his temper.

Christmas was finally over, lessons were about to start again and so Beau took the time he had to go for a wonder around the castle. He walked along the corridor his convereses scuffing the polished floor as he did so, his hands were stashed in his trouser pockets as his mind idly drifted back to the yule ball. A smile appeared on his face straight away as he remembered what Toni had looked like, he realised now that he liked her more then he had ever liked anyone before, the fact that he smiled at meerly the thought of her had to be something.
Soon enough he found himself on the first floor his mind flicked back to the fight he had had with Scorpius and a scowl replaced the smile on his face, he walked untill he spotted the classroom in which they had fought and, thinking it was a good idea, he walked inside. He stopped dead his eyebrows raised, the scowl still on his face as he spotted someone sitting inside, "well, well, well," He said laughing a little, not his usual cold laugh, just a general amused laugh. He could hardly believe that he would find Scorpius sitting here. " We caused quite a mess didn't we?" he said, eyebrows raised as he scanned the room. Being with Toni was doing strange things to him, why was he standing here talking to the boy when he could be finishing the fight? But really that fight was long gone, and he sensed that there wouldn't be another punch up today.

Scorpius looked up at the sound of someone else entering. His eyebrows raised in surprise when he saw that it was Beau. His first reaction was to sit up right and tighten his hands into fists but Beau couldn't see, however he told himself to calm down so he uncurled them once more. Once Beau spoke of the classroom, Scorpius looked around as well; it certainly was a mess. Surprisingly, he allowed a small chuckle to escape him and nodded his head in agreement with Beau's observation. "We did," he said in his rough thick Irish accent. Time at home had brought it back strongly again. He shook his head with a small smile on his face, acting as if he were much older and wiser than the time that he and Beau had fought, back when they were younger and more juvenile. He still didn't like Beau one bit, but there was no need to fight him again. He was with Luna now, and Luna had nothing to do with Beau, thankfully. "Are you treating Toni alright?" he asked carefully, his grey eyes sparking with a 'you-better' look.

Beau relaxed a little now as he saw that Scorpius wasn't about to launch into him again. He walked into the classroom and sat on a desk, a fair distance from him.
Beau raised his eyebrows at Scorpius' question, "Do you really need to ask that?" he asked, despite the fact he had been in New Zealand for a good few months his British accent was just as strong as when he had arrived. It sounded a little harsh compared to the Irish accent but still he gave it a smooth edge.
He sighed gently, "Look Mate, I've liked her since I met her in what June?July?" he said smoothly, "Do you really think that when she finally starts showing an interest I would..." he paused, inwardly shuddering at the thought, "Mess her around?" he asked, more rhetorically then anything. His blue eyes clouded slightly, if anyone ever hurt Toni he would be the first one on there case, he would never knowingly hurt her.

Scorpius looked back at Beau sitting at a seat far away from him, reading his face for sincerity in his words. He didn't like that Beau had liked her since the summer, that was when he had met Toni and developed a crush on her too; that was also when she had met Sam and they'd instantly taken a liking to each other. However now that he thought about it he thought Sam and Jenna were pretty well together, and Toni, well, he just wanted her to be happy with whomever, even if that meant Beau. "Good," Scorpius said with a nod of his head. He had to admit, Toni was a much happier person now that everything with Sam and Jenn had subsided and she was free to be with Beau. He still felt the need to add, "But if you ever hurt her, you know you'll be getting it from Sam and I." His grey eyes flashed in anger warningly, but he breathed slowly, remembering Beau's words.

Beau stopped himself from rolling his eyes and Scorpius' words. He wanted to replie something sarcastic but stopped himself.
"How was your holidays?" he asked, he tried to be if not nice then just mildly interested. Afterall he knew that Toni really valued Scorpius' friendship and he didn't want to do anything to make that awkward. He would try, if not for himself, then for her.

Scorpius chose to ignore the fact that Beau had rolled his eyes at his warning and instead cleared his throat roughly before answering his question. He found it odd that Beau asked in the first place but said, "I went back to Ireland to be with my family." He decided that was a simple enough response, no need to get into details about how much fun the pub was over the holidays. Unfortunately that was also the place where Scorpius had seen many people fight in a drunken confusion; thus where he had gotten a few pointers in fighting, to his mother's dismay. "And yourself?" he reciprocated the question back to Beau.

Were the two actually making conversation? Scorpius had to laugh at that realization. "It seems we've gone soft," he muttered with a chuckle to Beau. Being with someone you really liked did that to a guy he supposed. For Beau it was Toni, for Scorpius, Luna.

Beau nodded, for him there could be nothing worse then going back to his family. He didn't really understand people who got on with their families but it was clear some people did.
"Just stayed at school," he said simply, in all honesty it had been the best christmas he had had for a long time. Being with Toni on christmas morning was incomparable.
He shook his head, "I know," he siad, his tone illistrating that it was clear he never imagined himself standing here talking to Scorpius about their christmas holidays.
"Did you go to the ball?" he asked, sighing gently and kicking a chair gently so that it stood up again.

Scorpius nodded his head slowly when Beau said he had just stayed at the castle for the holidays. He thought it was weird that he was one of the few people who had actually left home for the holidays. After seeing everyone's positive reaction about their Christmas at Hogwarts, Scorpius was starting to feel like staying here was the better option than going home, maybe next year he'd stay here like the rest of his friends.

When Beau asked if he went to the ball, he smiled and subconsciously reached over to rub his toes as if they were still in pain. "Yeah," he replied simply, remembering the way Luna had stepped on his feet all night. At first her small feet hadn't hurt him, but after many steps on, the pain was starting to catch up with him. He then remembered how Luna and Angus had danced and the look Angus was giving his girlfriend; Scorpius had almost gone up to him and punched him just the way he had done to Beau in this very classroom, but he had refrained from ruining Luna's night. To distract himself from punching Angus, he had asked Jenna to dance.

He remembered seeing Beau and Toni there once but never saw them again. "You went with Toni right?" he said, it wasn't much of a question since he knew the answer. "She looked good," he added. Good was like an understatement for Toni, but Scorpius didn't want Beau to think he still liked her or something.

Beau looked up at Scorpious, he couldn't help the slight feeling of jealousy that was flowing through him now, "Yeah, she always looks good," he said nodding.
Aware of how awkward this was he sighed and started drumming his fingers on the desk. They would never get on, too much had happened for that and he wondered what exactly they were doing here making small talk. It was clear neither of them liked the other yet somehow they still sat here.
He jumped down from the desk and began pacing around the room, stopping to look out of a window every so often before continued walking around the room. There were piles of old books dating back years ago piled around the room and as he walked he looked at some of their strange titles.

[Sorry for the delay.]

Scorpius nodded his head curtly when Beau said Toni always looked good, of course she did, Toni prided herself in that. Scorpius felt the need to chuckle when he remembered how he and Sam, especially Sam, loved to mess with her hair or something just to see her get angry at them. But moments like that, with them as a trio, were rare. Toni was always spending all her time with Beau.

A surge of jealousy and anger towards the blonde headed Slytherin walking the classroom in front of him overcame Scorpius. He wanted Toni to be happy but he wanted to be able to see her just as often as he had when she was with Prince. He remember foolishly thinking that one day they'd all be able to hang out freely, but the anger he felt towards Beau still harbored from the first time they met, coupled with the jealousy now, was still too strong for that.

"It'd be nice if we were able to see Toni once in a while," Scorpius said out loud, his tone slightly playful but he tried to keep it calm with a small smile on his face. "We're her best friends, so we'd like to spend time with her too you know," he added, meaning for it to come out in the same playful tone but it came out rather sarcastically.
