Character's Name: Jean Pierre "Cocytus" Lachance

Appearance: Cocytus has aged well for a man in his fifties. He has handsome features marred by a scar across his right eye. He usually wears robes typical of the Death Eaters, though he is also known to wear suits.
Personality: Cocytus is a charismatic man, polite, always in control... He doesn't like to make unnecissary conflict with his collegues. Inside though he is a zealot, a fanatic believer of Voldemort, who he looks upon as a Christ figure, believing he leads them even in death... And he may someday return. He is very cold and calculating, always seeming to observe everyone around him. He is very cruel, able to inflict pain upon enemies to the cause without remorse. He is also prone to rare bouts of intense rage, where he loses all control and screams violently.

History:Cocytus was born Jean Pierre Lachance. He grew up the bastard son of a pureblood Death Eater, his mother dying in child birth. His father taught him that being a half blood meant he would have to work harder than any pureblood if he wanted to get anywhere, as well as usual dark magic dogma (muggles are inferior etc.)
Jean worked hard to gain acceptance from his pure blood peers, who always seemed to consider him inferior. It wasn't until he defeated the 'top dog' in a duel that he was accepted amongst them, particularly because he took the fall with the headmistress.
When the time came for his introduction into the Death Eaters, he was a proud young man, knowing he had finally made it. After several successes for the cause, he was given a new name, Cocytus. It was Near the end of Voldemort's second coming that he got the scar on his eye, during a skirmish in France. During another battle taking place during the battle of Hogwarts to try to deter reinforcements he heard the news that Voldemort had fallen. With morale broken and theiir plan having worked TOO well, they were severely outnumbered, he fled the battle. He never abandoned his cause and remains loyal to the Death Eaters.
Cocytus is a respected Death Eater, known for his skill at interrogating wizards. He is usually calm, collected, and polite, though he is prone to fits of intense rage when under duress. He had a lover who gave birth to a son, Damien, who he tried to teach to become a death eater. The boy however, shyed away from this because he had made secret friends with muggle children. Cocytus, in one of his fits, nearly killed one. This caused his son and lover to leave for America.
Recently he's been confronted by Damien, who is now an Auror. As much as hates to admit it, he looks forward to the day he can see just how dedicated his son is, and if he can turn him.
