When Alexei stepped off the train and onto Brightstone Station, the sheer density of its population momentarily rooted him to the spot. Russia was 'busy' at peak times, such as during this holiday, but never had he seen a village swarming with quite so many witches and wizards. And it was so warm! In December!
Finally recalling his surroundings, Alexei fished his general map of the area from his pocket and unfolded it, turning it several times before he was confident he had it the right way up. Even as he did so, flocks of students bustled past him, and he grew uneasily aware that he was in the way. Tourists. Today, he was one of them. To avoid being trampled upon, he took his map across to the wall near the exit doors, which swung out open onto the sunny street. There was a stand of leaflets beside him, which he towered over, as did he the heads of most passersby, making it unfortunately apparent to anybody who might happen to glance his way that he had not a clue where to go.
