Kate looked at the kitchen, the relief clear on her face. She had thought for a moment that they were lost but thankfully they hadn't been and they were now at the entrance. She could smell the aroma of food being cooked, she looked at her watch. It was almost dinner time, the two had been down in the dungeons for longer then she had thought. It was weird to think that while ago she was crying her eyes out and she had been so upset and hurt, now she wasn't crying and though she wasn't as upset as earlier the hurt was still there.Raw and painful. It wasn't something that was going to go away,no matter how hard she tried to forget it,it would always be there. She just wished she knew he was okay and he wasn't lying somewhere, on the brink of death or something. It was something she tried not to think about,so instead she thought of their last kiss.Everything in that moment had been perfect, she had felt on top of the world but she had been brought swiftly back.He just wasn't ready yet and Kate had to give space, she wasn't going to go leave school and search for him,he probably wouldn't want that and she didn't think that would be a very good idea.Kate looked over at Sammy, realizing she had been in a world of her own for a few minutes "And you doubted me,when I said we weren't lost"She said grinning and walking into the kitchen. The place was in full swing, with the hundreds of elves making the dinner for the hundreds of students who would soon be making their way to the Great Hall for food.Kate was liking the smells and she couldn't wait to go up to the hall and eat.But first they were going to make some chocolate cake.Kate found that she made up all sorts of excuses to eat food. She wanted to gain as much weight as possible so she could be fully healthy again.

She walked over and got two aprons, she gave one to Sammy, she rubbed his curls "I do hope no of that hair gets in the food"She said smiling playfully. She herself bent down and gathered all her hair before tying it up.She loved cooking, she had been doing it for ever, her mother was an amazing cook and ever since Kate was a tot she had been cooking with her mother.Kate now came to the kitchen often to cook food. The elves recognized her and most days they tried to sit her down and give her food because they thought she was way to thin and even as Kate thought this, the same group of elves came over and took her hand and sat her down on a chair near by,they looked at her stomach disapprovingly and Kate found herself laughing and smiling. They laid a variety of foods in front of her,she signaled Sammy to come over and sit opposite her.An elf was quick to get a chair for him.Kate looked at the foods and took some. The house elves wouldn't let her get up until they were satisfied. It was another fifteen minutes before they were happy with what she had eaten, she looked apologeticlly at Sammy. "Thanks guys"She said when they finally let herself and Sammy do their own thing. She turned to Sammy after getting out an a ray of cookbooks that she had got her mother to send, that she always kept in the kitchen "Why don't you have a look in that and see what type of chocolate cake takes you fancy"She said before getting out equipment and ingredients that would be essential to any chocolate cake[/url]

Sammy smiled as the door swung shut behind them and they were in the kitchen. Everything felt ten times better when in a kitchen that was being used, like this one was right now, and that was when Samual realised that they must have spent quite an extention of time down at the dungeons by themselves because the house elves seemed to be preparing food that was more suitable for dinner, rather than lunch. But atleast they weren't making breakfast, otherwise that would have meant that thye spent all night in the dungeons and that didn't seem like a nice thing to have happen. Sammy smiled at Kate slightly, it was good to see her looking relieved and not upset, she deserved a break and didn't deserve to be upset all the time, he didn't say anything to her though, because she seemed to be pretty much in her own word and he knew how sometimes you could get distracted by things and not take notice of things, and he also knew how some people didn't like being pulled from their thoughts, so he just looked around the kitchen and tried to get to know the area so he knew vaguely where everything was. Samual frowned when Kate finally spoke and shook his head. "Excuse me, Miss Moon, but who was it that decided we take that last turn?" He asked, putting his hands on his hips stubbornly. "Yours truly." He answered, pointing to himself and sticking his tongue out. Sammy walked further into the kitchens, making sure he dind't accidently walk into any House elves, who were running around like crazy, still obviously trying to make what appeared to be dinner for the school, it seemed like a difficult job, but the House elves didn't seem too bothered by the workload at all, then again, they were probably used to it. The kitchen smelled nice because of it and Sammy couldn't wait to start cooking as soon as possible.

Sammy smiled and accepted the apron, but then pulled an extremely shocked face as Kate rubbed his curls. "Are you implying that my curls fall out?" He asked in mock horror, when he watched her put all her hair up, he crossed his arms atubbornly. What she said was quite true possible though, Sammy did have quite a head of hair on him and it did probably need to be held back somehow, but he was sure they'd think of something. At home Sammy would cook with his mother, but that was years ago and so his hair was not as curly as it was now, and his mother had chef hats that would help gather up all there hair, and they were really fun to wear too. These days Sammy wasn't home long enough to actually cook anything, since Tess and Lisa were master chefs of the house and would always cook together, while everyone else would just have to avoid them while they were cooking, because if something went wrong, they'd never forget that you interrupted them. Sammy had never really been to the kitchens before, because he could only really bake cakes, and baking cakes was never fun if you did it alone, so he never had a need to come down here. Sammy smiled slightly as the elves dragged Kate away and sat her on a chair, Samual followed when Kate gestured that he come, and sat opposite her, looking at variety of foods in front of him and shaking his head slightly and picked at the food, because he didn't want to be full by time they made the cake. Sammy nodded to the elves and smiled, even though Samual came from a magical family, his mother had been a muggle-born, and so was one hundred percent against house elves because she saw it as slavery, even if his father thought the total opposite, so he wasn't exacly used to house elves crowding him and stressing out, he wasn't used to them at all actually. "Thankyou." He said kindly, happy to be able to get off the stool. Sam looked at the cookbooks curiously, usually he'd just make the cake without any book interference, but this time he was cooking the cake without his mother, or Lisa and that was something that rarely happened. A smile crossed the Gryffindor's face when he found a ckae he hought they'd both love. Chocolate Cake. Since they had already settled on it, Samual knew what t look out for. "Okay, so we said we'd make a chocolate cake, so we need all of that." He said, pointing to the list of ingrediants and looking around the kitchen to see where thye could find them, nodding when Kate had already pulled some out. "Oh, and pre-heat the oven." He added, turning the oven on to 160°C and smiling.

It was so cosy and warm in the kitchen. It reminded her of the one they had in England.Someone seemed to be making something every time she went down to the kitchen. She didn't know how this was happening but none the less each time she went down to the kitchen, the head chef and everyone else was cooking their heads off.Kate had no idea where the food went because her mother usually made their food.Honestly Kate didn't see why they needed such a big house at all.Even though she loved it,they barely used all the rooms and it was just her parents and the staff there.Another thing she didn't think they needed, the staff. She loved them, they were all so lovely and nice and she knew them all by name but still even after five years she couldn't get used to things being done for her.It always surprised her when something was done for her or the door was opened for her and something like that. She wasn't sure she would ever get used to it,it was such a change in lifestyle. She didn't like the parties much.Usually when they went home they had to attend some sort of a party at her house or some place else. They were so boring and she always felt as if she was on show. The last few had been hard due to the weight issue but she was almost healthy now so she doubted that would be a problem again. It was horrible feeling everyone's judging eyes on you.She had felt bad for her Dad because it had almost made him look back,it wasn't weird enough that all four children went to some boarding school that no one had heard of.But there was nothing to do about that and life went on.Kate grinned and then laughed. "Touche"She said raising her eyebrows and smiling

Kate laughed "Everyone's hair falls out,yes even bits of your curls"She said rubbing his curls again. It was a kitchen rule to always tie up or keep back you hair as you hair is always falling it and everywhere you go you leave some behind. It was so new ones could grow instead.Kate couldn't help but chuckle at his reaction,it was obviously something that he hadn't thought of before.Kate wasn't too strict though. She didn't always go by the rules and when it came to cooking. She tended to bend them sometimes.Kate appreciated the fact the elves tried to help her but it wasn't needed ,she was almost back to her normal weight, she felt so much better these days except for emotionally she was a bit messed up.But hopefully after a few days the pain wouldn't be as raw.Being with Sammy was definitely helping. It was great to have someone who could distract you.She was going to have to find Tara and talk to her because it had been so long since they had spoken and she missed talking to her.She also wanted to find out how she was.Kate was glad to be making chocolate cake.It always tasted delicious and Kate would make sure this one taste lovely.Kate briefly looked at the ingredients, she already had some out and she went to get the rest of them, getting the equipment as she did so. "You do that"She called out to him as she got the things. When she had everything on the counter she turned to Sammy "What's next?"She asked smiling
