Arisa had just gotten off a very long shift at work. It had started with doctors appointments for what felt like about half the children in Obsidian Harbour, and finally when they was finished she had a meeting with her recovering alcoholics. They were all doing so well, and she was so proud of them, but right now all she wanted to do was pick up Spencer, and go home. Although Arisa was thankful that she had remembered to bring a change of clothes. She hated going home in her work clothes. What if she had to stop somewhere on the was home? The woman was sitting out on a bench in front of the docks waiting for Freddie to come, and drop off Spencer before he started his own shift at the hospital. Arisa was so happy that Freddie wanted to be part of their sons life, and that he understood that the two just weren't meant to be together. The sun was beginning to set, and it looked so beautiful over the harbour.

Arisa yawned, and took a sip of coffee from her little paper cup. It was old hospital coffee, but it would at least keep her awake for the next couple hours before Spencer's bed time. She had the day off the next day so she wanted to stay up, and get some things done around the apartment that she had been putting off. Arisa looked down, and checked her watch. Where was Freddie? His shift was supposed to start in half an hour. The man was probably running late again. Maybe Spencer had needed a last minute diaper change. That was probably it. There was no sense in worrying. Of course that didn't stop her from worrying a little. Since she had became a mother she found herself worrying more then she had in her entire life. Honestly it made her feel a little bad for what she had put her mom through, but only a little.

It had been a long few months in the Auror department. With more teams going out on missions and catching some high profile Scitorari scum. Thomas had, unfortunately, not been selected for any of the teams to go out on the field and help take down their latest captures but a win for the Auror department was a win for everyone. Thomas wasn’t overly fussed on not getting to go out on the field, of course he would have loved the opportunity to do so but he also knew that his mother would be on edge the entire time and he didn’t know if he could put her through that after what happened his father over two decades before. Thomas has, however, found a calling in research and various other admin duties within the department. Sure it would seem boring to a lot of others who were all action driven. Although the Ravenclaw in him found the seemingly boring but actually quite interesting work almost therapeutic and enjoyable.

After a particularly long day of shift at work Thomas was actually quite glad to clock off for the day. He had been doing a lot of overtime as of late so he could get caught up on his work as there was extra to be done after the most recent capture. He stopped by the coffee cart in the Ministry before heading out of the building. A lovely breeze hit his face as he stepped out and right away he was filled with a new burst of energy and felt more awake than he did when he left his office. With his new found energy Thomas decided not to go home just yet and instead walk around the Harbour a bit. It was a local area of beauty that was practically on his doorstep and yet he never took time, or rather had the time, to appreciate it.

Coffee in hand he walked around the harbour towards the docks. The place was relatively quiet at this time of day and not many others were occupying the area. Thomas did see one person a little further up from himself sitting on the bench. “No!” he whispered under his breath. Walking a little closer just to be sure he wasn’t mistaken he observed the person in a non-stalker-ish manner in the change he was mistaken. Finally he got a better view of the person and he was right. “Arisa!” he exclaimed, his voice noticeably laced with happiness and surprise in seeing one of his old school mates.

To distract herself from wondering about Freddie, and Spencer Arisa had begun making a list of all the things she would need to do the next day to make sure everything kept running smoothly. There was laundry, grocery shopping, sweeping, mopping, and dusting. Some days she just wished she could ask Brodie, and Aeon if she could borrow their house elf, Nana, but she thought that might be rude, and insensitive. Besides with Aeon practically away at school all the time she was sure Brodie needed all the help he could get with the twins. Arisa sighed. She wishes she could just have a day to relax, and spend time with Spencer, but she knew that if she did things would just pile up, and be even worse on her next day off. At least she had her coffee. Not that she could drink much of it unless she wanted to give her son a caffeine high.

Arisa was just taking another sip when someone called out her name. She was startled, and choked on her coffee. The witch managed to get it down with a little coughing. When she looked to see who had said her name was had to think for a second, but then she gasped in excitement. "Thomas Smith! I can't believe it!" Arisa hadn't seen her old school friend since she had left HNZ. He looked just like he did when they were teenagers, but of course much older. Arisa put her cup down before jumping up, and giving Thomas a hug. Then she realized that might be a bit weird coming from what was now practically a stranger. Arisa pulled back, and laughed "Sorry, it's just so good to see you! I thought all our classmates had died or something." Arisa joked. Honestly she had expected to see at least a few old school friends since moving back to New Zealand more then a year ago, but Aeon was the only one. "Here come sit, we need to catch up! It's been so long." Arisa said sitting back down on the bench, and patting the spot beside her.
