Like many a first year, Briony is naturally shy like all of the others. She is a smart little thing, with wit and a sharp tongue. She generally tries to keep out of everyone elses way, which means she has been pushed aside for her other siblings before. It is something she has never gotten used to and something that has always annoyed her. She is hoping to change her personality somewhat to make friends and where people will take her seriously and not think that they can ignore her for someone else.
Briony has been known to tattle on her siblings before which makes her not very liked by the ones she has told on. A reason she does this is to gain attention from an older person. She isn't always aware that she angers the victim, and usually acts like nothing ever happened. You can't fully blame her, however. She has been brought up to fight for the spotlight.

Briony was born an raised in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Her parents were both muggle borns who met at Hogwarts and fell in love because of their similarities. Shortly after graduation they were married, and moved to New Plymouth and began to raise a family.
Briony was the third child to be born to them, and she was always the middle child. Being the second girl born, she could not take the place as a daddy's girl because her older sister Ellen, already had that spot. Her older brother was the mature and wise sibling, and her little brother was the actual baby of the family. The only room left for Briony was the quiet and annoying middle child that attempted to gain attention for herself. Although, she was usually ignored, she was loved by both parents and all of her siblings so she did have a happy upbringing. Everything they really needed was provided for them, for they were neither rich nor poor.
While growing up, Briony had always enjoyed reading. It was a passion she never let go of, and something that always held her back from being social.
She is excited about being the only Harper in Hogwarts, for she yearns to make her own mark on the school and not have her siblings overshadowing her for once.
