Makaria Styx took up more theoretical classes than practical, and dropped a good bit too because she just did not need them. She knew that Loki focused on just what he needed to, so it was not unheard of, she was sure. Makaria wanted nothing more but to relax today. She was a third year. She felt that she had a little bit more freedom than the average student. First and second years did not have a choice within their schedule. Third years and above had a choice. Makaria liked that. That was why she was sitting in the library, with her books resting in front of her. None were textbooks but they were books on some off the wall subjects not taught in school. One of them was alchemy, though that seemed far too advanced, even for someone her age. Makaria liked the concept of it though. The theoretical section behind it. How to turn chemicals and science, with a bit of magic, into gold and everlasting life. Since Flammel, it had not been done, but maybe someone else needed to come along and discover it.

Mikael had taken to avoiding certain people around the castle. If he didn’t, he was pretty sure he would only develop a headache, and then he’d be bound to hex someone. Possibly grab Horror to help him hide a body. Theoretically, the library wasn’t really the best place to avoid students within a school. But considering, Kael had never really been one to hang around libraries. Or study. He figured that this would be the spot to hide. Besides, he’s started taking his studies seriously now because his mother had been getting up on him about it. He didn’t see why he needed to do well on his OWLs when he’d just be working in the family business anyway. As he tried to look for a table to laze around study in, he found that there was quite the scarcity. Not surprising since the end of the semester was fast approaching. He did find one table though that only had a younger student. He just didn’t notice immediately since she had so many books in front of her that he’d initially thought there was a whole study group there. He gave up and just sat across from her and caught sight of what she was reading. Fairly interesting stuff. “Isn’t this a bit too advanced for you?” he asked curiously, an eyebrow raised. He wondered if she could actually understand the theory of what she’s reading.
