Maddiie slipped out of her dorm being careful not to wake her roommates. She couldn’t sleep which was always a problem with Maddiie, she sometimes believe she suffered from insomnia. Just as she stepped out into the night air, she started to breathe easily smiling as she strides forward. It wasn’t as bad as before, it felt like summer was already here. But the only difference was she would not be in school, but rather with her father still searching for a perfect house. She still didn’t understand why they couldn’t just go back where they used to live. But at the moment Maddiie didn’t want to think about that.

She pulled out her wand toying with her right hand as she called out “Lumos” a small spark of light lid up the tip of her wand. Their really wasn’t need for the light since the stars were shining the brightest tonight. But as she grew nearer the lake that when the shadows of the tree took in the darkness. She wasn’t afraid as she took her formal place against the tree trunk while her hand fiddles with her wand. It was a nice night tonight; her honey brown optics would gaze around spotting a group of fairies dancing around a red blossom bush. Their small wings would flitter and flutter as fairy dust flies all around them; Maddiie smiled imaging herself as one of these creatures

Sam could not sleep. Ever since Jenn left out of the blue he couldn't sleep. Some nights were better than others, this night Sam was fustrated. He hated not being able to sleep. Usually he would just lie awake for hours waiting and hoping that sleep would come over him but the more he thought about it the more he would lie awake.

Tonight Sam had had enough and got up from his bed. He threw on some jeans and a grey hoodie. He left his dorm quietly and snuck out of the castle. It was such a starry night, Sam was almost glad he couldn't sleep. He wanted to see what the lake would look like at a time like this.

Arriving at the lake Sam saw an older girl there. He had never spoken to her before but he had recognised her from the common room and sometimes at their table in the great hall. She seemed to be looking at a small group of fairies. Sam walked silently over the grass and leaned against a tree not wanting to disturb her, though his foot slipped and snapped a twig. Damnit, he wasn't sure had she heard him or not so he stayed where he was.
