Just wondering ... If we ever need this kind of thing.

Like in the books, they have school board of governors (equivalent to board of trustees in US). One character, Lucius Malfoy, is one of them. There are total of 12 governors who have the power to choose the headmaster/mistress and even control over the entire school.

What I'm suggesting is, could we add this one group and probably have a site wide plot and even change headmaster/mistress every 2 to 5 IC years and the governors will decide rather than send an app?

This is just a thought, don't take it by heart.

Hi :)

Adding a board of governors is an interesting idea and one that we may explore further in the future. At this moment, we are trying to work on developing and expanding other ideas - the Wizengamot and Magical Law Enforcement in the wizarding world and quidditch/dueling in the school. We do try to limit the amount of areas that we focus on so that we can give them our full attention and help them develop to their fullest potential.

When it comes to a board of governors, there are a few areas that we, the admin, have to consider such as the role that the board would have. Having a new Headmistress every 2 -5 IC years, while fun sounding, would make the school and the site fairly unstable. In canon, Headmasters were often in their positions for way longer than that amount of time, so it actually isn't abnormal that Ava has been in the position for nine years. A revolving door of Headmasters/Headmistresses wouldn't do any good to the students or the staff. As a site position, there are other factors to consider. The position is just as much OOC as it is IC with the Headmaster being given a significant amount of moderation changes over a normal professor, so it is not a decision that we would look to make every OOC year or so. Additionally, admin would absolutely have to be involved in any decision to change the Headmaster; leaving this decision entirely to a vote is highly unlikely.

So, it isn't a no forever to your suggestion. It is a no for the foreseeable future as we focus on other areas. Thank you for the suggestion. ^_^
