Closed Back to the basics

Eoin was so quick to deny their friendship that Weston started to wonder if the other boy really did mean it. But that was impossible. They'd lived together for over two years now. They had classes together. They were hanging out together right now. Surely all these pieces added up to friendship, right? The only other possibility was that Eoin was saying these things to hurt him, and even Weston knew that a good friend wouldn't do that.

Tutoring. Weston glanced over at the pile of textbooks that had lay forgotten during their conversation. He'd always had trouble concentrating while studying, but he knew that there was no way he could continue with this tutoring session in a productive manner. The world was starting to blur, and he had to get out of there fast. "I actually have to go," he said, his voice thick. He stood abruptly, refusing to look at Eoin. "See you later," he mumbled before turning away.
