Life was going well, until a Quidditch accident killed his sister. His heart broke, and the grief was so intense it eventually killed his mother, as well.
Devastated by the loss, Avery sold everything and moved to New Zealand in search of a new life. He found a roommate quickly in the form of the beautiful but stand-offish Phillip Zanders. Avery is still adjusting, offering piano lessons on the side while running his own interior design business. He travels around, seeking out one night or weekend companions, but always ends up back at his flat alone. Avery continues to remain emotionally unavailable, refusing to speak to anyone about his mothers death or his fathers abandonment.
