It was a cold, wet, widny day and the Gryffindor common room was packed to bursting, although none of Ellie's friends seemed to be in there! Deciding she had to get out of the stuffy, overly warm room, Ellie grabbed some parchment and a muggle pen from her dorm and hurried out of the portrait hole, making her way slowly to the Owlery. Rain and wind were hammering hard against the windows throughout the Castle, but Ellie liked it, she found it rather calming! Finding herself at the foot of the steep stairs, leading up to the Owlery, Ellie started on the climb, singing to herself as a grin played on her lips. The weather may be crap, and she may not be able to find her friends, but Ellie was still excited about just being back at Hogwarts. As she reached the small circular room, outlined with shelves were Owl's were sitting, she greeted them all with a smile and sat her parchment on the small table by the window. The Owl's didn't seem to like the weather much, and were fluttering about rather nervously. Ellie knew a storm was coming and felt sorry for the poor creatures. Taking her pen from her jeans pocket she began to scirbble out a letter to her dad.
Dad

You told me to send you a letter as soon as I'm settled in, and now I am!
Things are great here, I'm loving just being back in the Castle with Harri and my friends. Classes have been rather good too, we had a field trip in Herbology the other day which was fun!
Anyhoo, I don't really know what to write so, love you all and Simon. Reply soon!

Ellie didn't have a clue what else to write, so she left it at that and called her owl Tiggles over to her. "Here boy" she said in her cute baby-ish voice. "Take this to dad, ok" she told him, attaching the letter to his foot and taking some owl treets from her pocket, giving them to him, before holding him outside the small window and watching him fly off. Ellie smiled as she watched till he was out of view, before turning to face the other owls, perching herself on the small table and thinking about things at home. She really couldn't cope with having Lily around anymore, she needed a plan, a plan to get rid of her!
