OVERVIEW Apollo does not really seek out romance because he can't experience a good time. He just lives up to his potential and believes he is doomed to be a bachelor for the rest of his life, despite the fact that he is desperate for love.

HISTORY

Apollo Vasilakis is the firstborn son to Stefanos and Kyunsoon. They were in the muggle world after all, and thought nothing of the magical world. Apollo was only the first of many children that would come after him. The parents loved their children very much. By the time that magic was involved and a ministry official came up to deliver the Hogwarts letter because of Apollo, he already had four siblings. The parents looked up the Hogwarts school, reading up on the history of it and then the seeds of doubt started to flow. The parents started to view the Slytherin house as an evil house, and anyone that was sorted into it was bound to be an evil wizard like Lord Voldemort and his lackeys. People like them, non-magical, were not accepted by the Slytherin house. So, Apollo was taken to Hogwarts, and during sorting, he begged and pleaded with the hat to avoid Slytherin, but unfortunately, he did not have many qualities of the other houses, and was sorted into the house of Slytherin.

Apollo was horrified that he was forced into the Slytherin house. His parents learned to send letters via owl and kept asking him what house he was in. Apollo was too embarrassed and ashamed to say, but when he went home that Christmas, one of his siblings found the Slytherin tie and all was exposed. His mom cried for hours, saying that their firstborn son was going to be a dark wizard while his dad burned his Christmas gifts. Even his siblings started to believe that Apollo was a bad person. It was just the start of their horrid treatment toward him. He became the scapegoat of the family. If his mom lost her job or was late, it was Apollo. If their car broke down, it was Apollo. As he aged, he started to wonder if this was all true - if he was doomed to be this evil person. He tried hard to shake that. He joined clubs, Quidditch, did everything he could to be a good son. He earned a prefect badge, and went to show his parents that he was a good role model, but that made things worse. Now he was a model student - for Slytherin. That sealed his fate.

Zeus and Athena were muggles, so that had to be Apollo's doing - stealing their magic. Hestia and Aphrodite showed signs so that was promising. Apollo even made captain of the Quidditch team, but after four years of emotional abuse and neglect, he stopped showing his achievements. When Apollo was home, he was not fed. He had to cook for himself, clean up his mess, and care for himself. He was like a roommate in his own childhood home. His parents stopped loving him and treating him like the others. Christmas' and birthdays for him were long forgotten, so he stopped going home for the holidays after his fifth year. Apollo started making friends, keeping girls around, and hiding his depression well. He started to work during his breaks between years to save up enough money to make it on his own - if he could. At the beginning of his seventh year, he found a place, but his father lost his job - which they promptly blamed Apollo. He ended up using his savings to buy his siblings their school supplies.

His siblings started to come around when they realized how much Apollo tried to be apart of a family that the parents shunned him out of. Luckily for Apollo, he was contacted by the Kaikōura Kea Quidditch team to come audition and try out after he graduated. It was all the way in New Zealand, but he was desperate to get away. He put up walls because he lost hope in his parents ever loving him again. He became Head Boy, an accomplishment that he should have been proud of but took no enjoyment in anymore. He ended up graduating with good grades. He used up a little money he had for himself to jump continents to try out for the New Zealand Quidditch team and to his amazement, he made the official team by being a beater. He started earning a lot more money that way, and secretly sent it to his siblings so that he could fund their education without the parents knowing. His siblings were all sorted into different houses, while he still remained the only Slytherin. Apollo started to go to therapy when he noticed he had severe depression.

He went no contact with his parents and started to do exercises to believe that everything bad that happened was not because he was cursed because of his house. There were many good Slytherins out there. Apollo had years and years of built of emotional trauma to deal with, and the road was hard. It wasn't until 2056 when his parents finally contacted him after the siblings ganged up on them, revealing everything he had done to prevent the family from starving (education funding and how he paid for food, clothes, supplies, everything he could for them). The parents ultimately found that they were in the wrong and were horrible to Apollo. When their letters would go unanswered (yet Apollo would write to everyone else), they tried flying out to New Zealand to meet with him. However, Apollo would not give them his location. After years of emotional abuse and neglect, Apollo could not face them. He could not forgive them, even though he should if not just for him, not his parents.

While he would be friends with anyone he met, he continued to have a hard time ever opening up to others, because his mind was still in the process of healing.
