Vanessa sighed. She sat on the edge of the cliff, her legs over the edge, dangling. She had memories going through her head. Memories of her real best friend. She was still having trouble believing that Wynstelle was gone. It was her fault. It wasn't, but she thought so. If I had written more often, she thought. Maybe she would have survived. If I had been more like a friend, gone over more, then maybe she would have had the strength to live.

She felt tears in her eyes, but refused to let them fall. She had cried so much already. She heard the sound of footsteps near her. She looked and saw a person she had seen in the past year. That annoying girl. One more thing to make her life worse.

"Hi," she said, her face expressionless. "Came to make my life worse, right?"

Jaden was thinking about someone while she decided to take a walk to clear her mind. She was feeling a little happy today. Not caring if anyone notice, she kept walking minding her own business. She hadn't noticed she walked as close to the cliff when she heard someone voice. "What?" she looked down to noticed a familiar face, it was a girl she had been mean to last year ago. "No? Why would I do that?" she asked the girl. Jaden notice she didn't look to happy, for what reason she wonder and decided to just simply ask. "What's wrong with you?"

Vanessa remembered their meeting the past year. She suspected the girl was trying to trick her, even though Jaden wasn't. She sighed and thought for a moment. She had studied the way people acted, so she could tell if they were lying or hiding something. From what she knew, Jaden wasn't faking. She let out another sigh.

"My best friend died," she said, keeping her face emotionless so that if Jaden knew how to read people's faces, she wouldn't be able to tell if she was telling the truth or not. "If you care at all."

The last part she said in a sort of mumble.

"Oh" was all Jaden could muttered. She didn't know what she could do with the information, if she should ask anymore questions or just leave it that. Instead she took a new approach and crouch down next to the girl, her hands gripping the grass as she let a sad smile slipped between her cheeks. "Well I'm sorry to hear that" she was surprise at her words selection. Guess she was finally letting her shields down, after almost a year and half of not wanting to know anyone. "I never lost a friend so I wouldn't know how that felt" she looked down while picking on the grass. She suspect the girl wants at least some sympathy, since she was trying so hard not to show how much that hurt her on the inside. "My names Jaden" she shrugged still looking down while she twist a patch of small grass off the ground. "What's your name?" she asked now her eyes looking up, to meet the ineffective ones of the girl.

"I know I'm sorry about that" Jaden kept looking down. The grass still felt wet from yesterday rain, it felt slippery between her fingers.
"I had issues sort of can't explain" Jaden shrugged, no one will understand so don't even explain Jaden. "Nice to meet you Vanessa" Jaden gaze back up to smile at the girl, she was pretty. At least from Jaden point of view. "Mind if I sit with you? Maybe make up for the last time?" It wouldn't hurt to try, everyone deserve a second chance. "Maybe we can be friends to" Jaden chuckle, her nose scrunching as she spoke.

"Thanks for being so forgiven" Jaden sighed a little while sitting down. She didn't deserve it as much, lately she's been feeling very low about herself. She still was keeping her secret hidden away from everyone else, part of the reason why she hid it perfectly. "What house are you?" she asked bluntly with a smile. Jaden wasn't good at guessing, but her bet would probably be a Gryffindor or something. Jaden don't pay much to her own house to guess, she wouldn't be able to know.

"It's no problem, i can't really hold a grudge against anybody for long," Vanessa said. "And it isn't like nobody snaps at people when they're upset. It's kind of universal. I'm in Hufflepuff. What about you?"

She didn't have a clue. When she had first met the girl, she had immediately thought Slytherin. But she snapped because of issues, and everyone did that. But not a Hufflepuff, she would have seen her around the common room. Vanessa had spent a lot of time there, so she definitely would have seen the girl around.

In Jaden universe houses didn't exist, she tries to make it all seem complex instead of a color or uniform crest. She didn't see Vanessa as a puff, like she had just told Jaden what house she belong. Or maybe it was the other way around, Jaden wasn't sure so she didn't bother to comprehend in the back of her mind. "Slytherin" or a pathetic excuse for one, that's how most see her as, well to Jaden at least. "im not sure if I belong in that house" Jaden shrugged looking down. "I'm just not caught for boarding school. How do people get use to this lifestyle?" she ask Vanessa as if she knew the answer. The boarding life and not having a family around, wasn't easy to get use to. Even if its been over a year now that she's been in Hogwarts.
