Tess had a spare few moments from class and rather than spending it in the library like she should do, she found herself wandering up to the fourth floor and into the large student lounge which she rather liked as a place to be because it let her spend time with her friends outside of Hufflepuff. However as she entered she saw none of them but instead of doing nothing or going back to her common room, Tess took a spare plush chair and sat there. The girl took out her journal with notes for things she wanted to do this year so she could figure out a way to plan them. Some she thought that she might have to get approval from Professor Pratt but before Tess approached her head of house she continued designing and planning.​

Geo would usually have taken refuge in the IC room, but given that she was still feeling a little awkward around Jess, and therefore Leila, Geo had tried her best to hide amongst the other students in a bid that she would either go unnoticed, or she'd find someone else to talk to. She'd been sat there for nearly two hours with her Ancient Runes homework however, and had so far managed to go uninterrupted, but upon seeing a member of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team enter the room, her interest was spiked. Despite that fact she looked as though she was busy, Geo was never one to shy away from making herself known. "Hey. You're a Chaser, right?" She asked the older girl, loud enough that it was obvious who she was talking to.

Tess looked up from her notebook when she heard someone's voice - feeling that it was directed at her - and she smiled at seeing a familiar face. The girl who was speaking was one Tess had recognized from try-outs and knew now to be the alternate chaser. As Tess could only assume that the girl was going to ask for advice on some of their plays she nodded and said, "Yeah I'm Tess. You're an alternate, right? Volt?" Tess hadn't caught her first name during tryouts but instead caught her surname and hoped that she was right in assuming this but was ready to be corrected if necessary. She smiled at the younger Hufflepuff, hoping that maybe they could foster a friendship or a nice relationship amongst the teammates if nothing else. It was part of the reason she liked Quidditch as much as she did - even if she wondered why Ares wouldn't use a co-captain like other teams.​

Geo nodded her head and smiled upon realising she knew who she was. She was actually glad to have been recognised for something other than her pink hair for once, and she beamed that it due to Quidditch. "Geo Volt. Third year." She looked around and paused for a moment, "How long have you been on the team? I mean, did you start as an alternate too?" her voice questioning. Elly had managed to jump on the Ravenclaw team and straight into the position of Keeper, bypassing that role all together. "I practised last year a lot with my best friend. It's great over the mid year break, perfect weather and no students to get in the way!" At least that was the case when Elly wasn't staying with her parents, and she'd enjoyed their flying games together during the break.
