A LITTLE DEEPER
PERSONALITY: Alfie is a spoiled brat and headstrong. Many consider him quite disagreeable, thus. He pays the reputation no heed, although he's more affected by taunting done in his face than he lets on. Much of said taunting can be attributed to a love for "girly" entertainment like princess films, which motivate him to behave honorably. The young Ravenclaw is sharp-witted (if something of a space case), visionary, and idealistic.
HISTORY: To be with his New Zealand-based girlfriend, his father left Wales and moved to NZ. They had a son post-wedding, Alfie. One remained devoted while the other deserted her spouse and child. The latter doesn't mind his mother's absence in itself; the majority of his Disney heroes were in similar family situations. What vexes Alfie is his father's habit of romancing unsavory individuals, most of which deride the boy's interests, partly as a result of the failed marriage.
The Welshman means well, but often causes financial troubles due to his inability to say "no" despite his somewhat low-paying career. His propensity for acquiescence has made Alfie a "bossy" preteen and lack of success is a reason the Hogwarts student aspires to academic excellence, illustriousness, and prosperity in the wizarding world.
