Aleena is a very reserved person who rarely expresses her emotions or thoughts outwardly. She tends to get lost in her own thoughts and forgets to actually express said thoughts. When confronted with powerful emotions, good or bad, she tends to withdraw inward to process them. She has always been on the introverted side and enjoyed studious hobbies like reading, chess, and art. But is perfectly capable of being eloquent and thoughtful around company. She knows how to make connections easily although those relationships tend to be rather surface level and shallow. Aleena grew up comfortably in the suburbs of Oxford as an only child. Her father was a Mahoutokoro graduate who moved to England after he finished school. He got a job with the Ministry in the International Confederation department. It was at the ministry that he met Aleena's mother who worked in magical law. Their relationship started slowly with workplace banter but grew into a genuine relationship. They settled in Oxford shortly after they got married and had their daughter. As an only child to two busy working parents, Aleena became very independent from a young age and excelled in school. Growing up surrounded by such a prestigious university she felt drawn to academics.
At Hogwarts Scotland she was sorted into Ravenclaw the same house her mother had been sorted into before her. There she did well in her lessons and participated in several clubs. She also met Thomas Thorne in her second year, who was a year ahead of her and in Slytherin. At first the two didn't get along at all. He teased her for always having her head in a book while she didn't like his arrogance. But as time went on they softened towards each other and started dating in her fifth year. However they broke up when Thomas graduated not wanting to deal with a relationship while apart.
After graduation Aleena started working for the Ministry as a secretary to one of the lawyers her mother worked with. But she didn't last very long there because after a couple years she reconnected with Thomas and left the job when they got married. Being a stay at home mother was odd for her since she had always been so driven when it had come to school and with out it she felt a little lost. Instead she focused her attention to being the perfect host and supporting her growing family's social life. But things took a turn for the worst after Thomas got into trouble at work. He made a bad deal and lost a lot of people a lot of money. To save face they moved to New Zealand to try and salvage what was left of their reputation. Something Aleena had come to value more than she ever expected. She took the move quite hard and without their social life to maintain and her children growing up, she again felt quite lost and withdrew into herself quite severely.
When Thomas unexpectedly passed away she was extremely shell shocked. Their marriage had been through many ups and downs over the years but it had been a constant source of security for her. With him around she at least knew she was taken care of, but now that he was gone she had to learn how to take charge of her family. It took a long time and a lot of reflection on her failure as a mother when she noticed just how much responsibility her two eldest children had shouldered over the years. But with a new job a the ministry secured she has slowly started to rebuild her life and figure out where she wants to go from here.
