Akaya is a gentle natured, sweet and caring young lady who has always dreamed of becoming a Professor, starting a family and living a very happy life. She will do anything to get that. Around her friends, she is a very fun, sweet person to be around. When she is faced with a stranger who looks dangerous, she goes along with whatever they say when she passes them, usually laughing. She has a tendancy to do too much for her friends, they feel she does too much and they can't repay her, but Akaya never sees it in that way. She only sees it as helping out, which is what she wants to do most. When she is faced with an awkward situation, she does not find it hard to start a new conversation, and does not feel that sitting in silence is awkward. Akaya likes the peace and quiet, which is why she moved to New Zealand. She disliked her home because of her siblings, who were noisy, unkind and unthoughtful. Her mother understood her wanting to leave as soon as possible, and even gave her some money to get her started. Akaya feels she doesn't ever want to get married, although her thoughts on that may change as she gets older.

On the second of September, 2006, Miyaki Saito gave birth to a little girl. The father of the girl, Lee Saito, was there in the hospital with her for two days. They decided on the name Akaya, because it had the meaning of generosity, a bubbly personality and a sympathetic way with everyone, which is exactly how she turned out. It took the couple two days to agree on this name. Three days after the birth, they took Akaya home to their house in China. They already had 3 children, all boys, Akaya was now the youngest. The boys were trouble makers, and the parents did not let them anywhere near the new baby in fear of them hurting her.
In 2017, Akaya's parents decided to home school Akaya, as she was finding it hard at school. She was bullied for her kindness, and her parents though that was abysmal, and needed to stop. They took her out of school and began to teach her everything she would have learned there, only in a lot more deptth. Her siblings teased her for being smart, though her mother told them to shut up and that they were just jealous. Miyaki had wanted a girl all her life and now that she had finally got one, she was not going to let her boys ruin her life.
In 2024, at the age of 18, Akaya moved to New Zealand to start a new life. She had a stable career in front of her, though she did not like it, and so now hopes to become a Professor at a school for witches and wizards. She thinks this career path will suit her very well, and is looking forward to the future, glad she was different from her siblings.
