Arielle was so excited to be back. Every time she came back to Hogwarts, she felt as though she was in first year again. At least, the first couple of days back always did. Before class started, and her studies became important. Not that Arielle had ever been one to worry much about her grades, as long as she passed, it was cool. What she did want to do, however, before her last year here was to explore as many places as she could, and to find new places to chill. She moved closer to the lake, almost spotting something, but realising soon with disappointment that it hadn't been something amazing, like a creature, but instead it had been her own reflection. Well that was very anti-climactic. She sighed and plopped down on the ground, crouching to get a better look at the lake. Maybe, if she waited long enough, something extraordinary would show up, if even for a second. Arielle just had to keep her eyes on what was in front of her, and if she looked closely enough...she would definitely not miss it, right?

The biggest disappointment to Emily arriving at Hogwarts was the lake. Sure, it was big water, and that was fun, but what good was a big still puddle? When the weather was warmer she could at least swim there, but there was no chance of surfing someplace like this. It was so frustrating. New Zealand summers were disappointing at best, but Emily was getting used to them, but she knew there was absolutely no way she would be swimming in this kind of weather. She found herself drawn to the lake often though, the only water nearby still calling her attention. Approaching the lake this particular time, Emily spotted an older girl peering into the water. Her curiosity piqued, Emily approached, crouching down next to the girl and peering into the water. "Is there something in there?"

Soooo sorry this is late :r

Arielle cursed under her breath when she thought she had spotted something, but it turned out just to be her own reflection, once again. Well, the fourth year was going to stay here the whole day (and night) if she had to. She really wanted to see what secrets the lake was hiding. She didn’t notice anyone crouching down next to her until the person spoke, and Arielle’s head whipped around. She grinned at the girl, who looked around her age. "I don’t know, but hopefully we’re about to find out," she replied, peering in ever so close but careful not to fall in. "There’s got to be something lurking in here, I just know it." Arielle’s instinct was usually correct and she wasn’t about to give up.

((No worries! My turn to apologise now :p I've been super writers blocked, sorry!))

Emily glanced at the girl curiously, wondering what had led her to staring into the lake if she wasn't even sure if there was anything there. "What are you even looking for? Are there cool fish or something?" Emily asked, peering into the lake herself. It was pretty as far as lakes went, but Emily just couldn't find any love for the Hogwarts lake. It felt paltry and unsatisfying compared to the beaches she remembered in Australia.
