OOCOut of Character:
As a Valentines day celebration, myself and Johanna(Kate Moon) Decided that we'd do a glimpse into the future of Stefan and Kate. About 8 years, two years after they graduate. This might not be how things actually work out. But, we thought it would be fun.

14th February 2036. Valentines day. The day of the year, that had never meant much until a person was older. It hadn't meant much to Stefan Mason Archer, when he'd first heard of it. A day for showing your love of another person to that person. It hadn't really ever factored into Stefan's life, as a boy. As a young slytherin, with his entire life ahead of him. But, now, things were completely different. Valentines day, had become his favourite holiday. As a holiday where he could show how much she meant to him. And how, he literally thought, she'd saved him. Things had been rocky for Stefan, and that was putting it nicely. His life had hogwarts had changed so many times. When he looked back on it, it felt like each term he was a slightly different person, carrying a slightly different weight. But, things had settled. His 7th year at hogwarts had been the calm that came after a long storm. It wasn't the year that everything became okay, just the year that Stefan Archer could say that he no longer feared his own home. Now twenty years old, and coming up for twenty one, Stefan could say without a doubt that he was happy. That he awoke each day, with a smile on his face. With a sense of comfort and safety within his brain. He didn't wake up in the morning to pain, or with fear. He had finally found his home. As much as he was happy, it hadn't driven away his fears, and the memories. Some nights, he woke from nightmares of what old memories he wished to forget but Stefan couldn't forget, and more to the point he knew he would never forget. As twisted as it was, the memories and experiences he had had to live through had really shaped his life and who he was as a person. He hadn't really realised it at the time, to him it had just been the universe telling him that he wasn't worthy. And while at the time, that had been what was in his mind, he knew that without it all, he would've never realised half the things he had. IN a sense, at times, he was almost glad of the completely horrible childhood which he had had. That wasn't too often that he thought that. It was hard to really be glad of it. There were times, when he was alone, and standing in front of a mirror, staring at the scars that his mind would replay how he got them. And those were never memories he actually enjoyed seeing.

A lot of things, in Stefan's life were good now. His father was dead. He was in contact with his parent's family. With the people who had been searching on and off for his parents since they'd left. And while, it had taken them a long time to locate him, Stefan had never been more happy than seeing his family. People who, saw him as the son of two great people. He had hugged them, and he had talked with them. Asked them questions. All in all his family were great people. Especially his mum's sister. Stefina, the girl he figured he was named after. She had welcomed him with such open arms, he had at first felt like it was all a trap. But it was real, and they contacted him, and came to see him. Obviously, he had not told them about the magic, or what his father had been like to him. He thought for their sake, that it was best to not say that his childhood, had been far from the one they'd hoped he'd had. And the last thing that made Stefan's life good, was a girl. His girl. Kate Moon. Kate had always been in his life. Even if at times when he had pushed her away. Or walked away. She'd been there. Like Stefan would always be there for her now. Stefan wanted to make up for all the time that he had spent pushing her away. And telling her that they shouldn't be together. But, it had been when his father died, and he was a wreck. When his life was completely dark, and his eyes were constantly red from the tears he couldn't stop, that he realised that he needed Kate, more than he had ever needed anyone in his entire life. It had been that time when he'd stopped lying to her, and told her some of the truth. Stefan hadn't told her everything about his childhood, and how he had gotten all of the scars he had. He hadn't ever gone into detail. But, telling her what his father was had been the most liberating moment of his life. Like he'd just taken a very heavy weight of his back. All in all, it had proved to be the first turning point of his life. The second had come when he'd found real family. Over the years at Hogwarts however, he'd felt like those around him were his family. He considered Willow Autumn to be like his sister. He trusted her a lot. He'd never not trusted her. And while he was with Kate. Willow was also very important to him. It had been weird for him to have a best friend as a girl. But Willow was that. His closest friend beside Kate. The one who had understood his situation a little more than others. And while he was with Kate, and he hadn't had any form of feelings towards Willow, she was like the family he'd never had, and while he now had some, Willow was still family.

It was valentines days in New Zealand. And Stefan had been saving up for the past few months to make it one to remember. He worked part time, in a muggle store. While studying to be a professor at Hogwarts. His subject being history of magic. He had almost finished training and was looking forward to actually being able to do some proper teaching. He'd taken Kate out for a fancy dinner. He'd bought a suit, and had really gone the extra mile for this Valentines. He'd booked a table on the popular boulevard, which had the best restaurants. And served the best food. Kate, looked amazing, and it just reminded him of a reason for why he was with her. Gorgeous in anything. Even though he was still colourblind, he knew she looked amazing. She looked amazing to him. Her laugh and smile, never failed to make him smile and laugh with her. She was smart and passionate. She was caring and fun. Every second that he spent with her at the restaurant reminded him, of why he was in love with her. He'd never loved before Kate. The first time, he'd even uttered the word to her, had been in his seventh year. I love you Kate Moon his hand was holding hers, his eyes had been locked with her, and he'd smiled as he said it. About 2 and a half years later, and Stefan was still in love with her. He loved saying it as well. If anyone had told Stefan in his second year at hogwarts that 8 years later, he'd use the word love for a person, he would've laughed. In his mind thinking that love was not something he would ever be allowed. The meal had been nice, the conversation too. But, now they were just leaving. He was smiling and he was happy. He had a surprise for Kate. And he was waiting for the right moment to give it to her. Stefan could hardly move his eyes from her as he held the door open for her. He took her hand, and let her start walking in any direction she wanted. "It's a nice night, isn't it?" Stefan motioned up to the clear sky. He could tell clear sky. And with the aid of street lights, though it was late he could still see. "I think I may have already said this, but you look amazing. And I'm not just saying that, because I should. You really do" Stefan smiled at her. A smile on his face was normal now. It was what he did. Smiled, and was actually happy.

Today was Valentine's day the 14 of Feb.This day had never meant much for Kate. She had got one or two cards in primary school and she had got only one in Hogwarts so the day was really not a day of importance.Just a day for resteraunts and card shops to make money. But that was when Kate was a twelve year old girl. Now she was a twenty year old woman that had a life in front of her.Because of a certain someone Valentines day had become one of Kate's favorite days. She now saw it differently, she saw it as a day to really so someone how much you love them. You didn't even have to go out somewhere just as long as you could spend the the day with someone you loved.

Kate thought about how good her life was at the moment. She was training to be an auror a job she had her eye on since starting Hogwarts. She was also the lead singer in a small band that played gigs at some resteraunts. But best of all she was in love and the person she loved was Stefan. The person who had changed so much since she had first seen him.The person who she cared about most and the person she could never live without.Stefan was perfect in so many ways. She remembered all those years when he had tried to push her away and how she had never given up.She was glad to be stubborn as if she hadn't she might of never got to know and love the real Stefan. It had been a difficult time the first few years. Her 'little' eating disorder and Stefan's 'anger' problem and of course the scars and cuts. They had left their mark and they would never fade. She then thought about her last year at Hogwarts when Stefan had told her he loved her and about his father. She knew he hadn't told her the whole truth but the fact he trusted her with that small piece of information made her feel good inside.

Today being Valentines day Stefan had taken Kate out to a lovely resteraunt.he had looked his best and he had looked very handsome in his suit. But he was always handsome he just looked extra tonight. She thought of how much he had changed he was so happy now and very light hearted and this made Kate feel warm inside. When she was younger she ha never really thought about love and so and and so forth but now she thought of it everyday. She really did love Stefan and she rememberd the first time he had said it to her it had been one of the best days in her life. She smiled as he held the door open for her.It was a very nice night the stars were beautiful in the sky and everything around Kate was beautiful. She smiled again at him when she felt his hand in hers. She put her head on his shoulder as they walked. She wasn't really sure where she wanted to go but she felt her legs brining her towards the beach. She followed his gaze looking again at the sky "Sure is"she breathed out before looking towards the sea. When he spoke again they had reached the beach. "You know you don't look to bad yourself"She said smiling and then kissing him.She bent down to take off her shoes and it felt good to feel the cool sand under her feet. She began walking again her shoes in one hand while the other in Stefan's.Her head was still on his shoulder. "Thanks for tonight"She said looking up and smiling at him

Everything about his life now made him smile. It really did prove that good things came to those who waited. At times the ex-slytherin couldn't believe his luck. He'd just had so much bad luck in his life that this run of good luck almost scared him. But he knew better. He had to better everyday just to be sure that he was worthy of Kate. To be sure that all that he did was for, and had her best interests in mind. He'd attend everyone of her small concerts and supported her entirely as she'd begun training to be an auror. he hadn't been surprised by her career choice. Helping others, striving to get rid of evil were just things that were Kate. He had seen it first hand with him. She had never stopped trusting and being there for him and now she was to do it for others. Stefan knew the field was dangerous, but he trusted that she would stay safe. He knew she would. He hadn't ever thought of himself as something big. It was why the job of a professor suited him so much. Although he'd never been too education and class. He had learned a lot about how strong people could be in classrooms. The amount of confidence it took to be a professor and stand in front of classes of children and young adults and teach them. Stuff they wouldn't want to know, or things they did. Showing them how to formulate proper essays and ideas. Stefan's passion to teach had grown over the many years. It hadn't really occurred to him that he should follow that path until he was chosing. In the end he knew he'd made the correct decision. He knew that teaching would be the best way to show everyone that he would never be anything like his father, no matter what. Stefan had to be sure he could hold that promise. So being a professor and having Kate by his side was how he stayed strong. It was wrong for someone to assume that he'd been happy after his father's death. Although free, he then had no one. He was then literally alone. His father may have never really been a part of his life in a good way, but it didn't make him not his father. Just like as if he'd lost someone who was very dear to him, was the way he'd reacted. Although it was now easier for it to hurt less. His mother on the other hand. Stefan still missed her the same amount every day. It was easier with Kate, but his mother would always be the memory he held onto most. Even when he was older and had everything he had ever imagined.

The dark blue eyes shone in the simple moonlight as he walked on the beach. His hand in Kates, and it was this simple image that reminded him how much he loved Kate, and life. The little things. They made him happy. Kate was not a little thing, and she made him happy. As long as she was smiling so was he. He had not a fear in the world. Not one that drove him to hide in corners, hoping that someday it would all be fine. Stefan looked at her as she spoke. he couldn't help but feel his cheeks warm. His cheeks had gone red from the compliment. Somethings had never changed. He was still pretty bad at taking compliments without blushing a deep red on his cheeks. he was unaware of this. Obviously but he knew that it meant something had happened. He had never found out if there was a cure for colour blindness. He had never asked. He hadn't wanted to. It made his life hard, and it made him had to really work to see things. But, he hadn't wanted rid of it. It was the thing that made Stefan not just some normal guy. The colour blindness was as much a part of his life as the scars were. He smiled as she kissed him. He leaned in and kissed her back. He loved the soft feel of her lips upon his. It felt good. Right. He loved the way her hand fitted in his. And the way her eyes shined when she was happy. She made him - as cheesy as it sounded - whole. He moved away from the kiss as they begun walking again. He held her hand and smiled as she leaned her head on his shoulder. He was smiling. He was just so happy. "You are most welcome, Kate." Stefan muttered to her. kissing the top of her head lightly. "I had a pretty amazing night too. So, Thank you." Stefan wondered if she was cold. To be sure, he stopped walking and let go of her hand. He pulled off the suit jacket and placed it around her shoulders. "I know it's just a little cold, but I really don't want my rockstar girlfriend to get sick." He on the other had was roosting. So, he rolled up his sleeves, before taking her hand once more. "How's Sara doing?" Stefan asked genuinely wondering. He spoke to Sara somewhat often, but not as much as Kate, obviously, since it was her twin and not his. One thing that had changed about Stefan, was he no longer felt the need to hide the many scars on his body. Both his arms were laced with them. The inside of hand, the one currently holding Kate's was scarred, and he didn't even bother hiding it. "I haven't had much time to speak to her, because of the thesis paper I've been working on. You know how much that thing has been driving me up the wall." Stefan looked to Kate. Before walking close to the waters edge. He didn't mind if his shoes got a little wet. He was even considering asking Kate if she'd want to just sit on the beach for a while. He needed the perfect moment. "You want to sit down?" He asked her pointing to a bit of beach. it was such a magical night, he couldn't see why she would not want to. There career paths made them both busy but tonight was different. "I love you Kate" He smiled at her as he spoke. Meaning every word.

Kate thought about Stefan's career choice. She was so proud of him.He hadn't exactly got the best education when he was younger and he was now flying at his studies. She had thought about about being a teacher but she felt an auror suited her better and she was glad Stefan agreed with her choice as being an auror was a bit dangerous but she had promised him (and herself) that she would always come home.Sometimes she wondered if she had picked the right career as it was sometimes quite scary and dangerous but thinking about Stefan made her stronger and it gave her the confidence.Up to her fifth year at school she had never really thought about what she would do after school.Being and auror had never crossed her mind before though a teacher did as that was what her parents were. But when it came to her OWLS she had asked her head of house to give her some advice as to what she should aim for. They had gone through all the possible careers and the minute Kate started learning about aurors she knew from then on that was what she wanted to be when she was older. The minute she had left school she had looked into it again and had started training last year and was now nearly complete. It was a thrilling job and exciting and she loved the way she was kicking some bad @ss and helping people at the same time.

Kate grinned when she saw him blush. It was so cute that he still couldn't take a compliment without blushing. But she hadn't a leg to stand on as she had just only recently controlled her blushing. No one in the world could match Kate's feelings for Stefan he was everything to her and if anybody hurt him or tried to hurt him they would seriously regret it.She loved Stefan more than life itself. When she was younger she could never imagine what it felt like to be really loved in a different way to your family. But thats what she felt everyday now and she hoped it would be like that all the time. She was happy as long as Stefan was happy.Kate smiled when she felt him kiss her on the head. "Your welcome though it was mostly you"She said smiling and looking into his bright blue eyes. She wondered why they had stopped but she smiled when he took off his jacket. To be honest she had been a small bit cold in her short dress and she was grateful to him for giving it to her but she hoped he wasn't cold either. She put it on and wrapped it around her tightly it smelled just like him. "Well thank you but are you sure your not cold2She asked her brow creasing. She didn't want him to be cold and her to be warm. But when she saw him roll up his sleeves she relaxed. She smiled at his question "She is doing great I meet her at the twins birthday last Friday"She said laughing a bit when she remember the twins nineteenth birthday. It had been a great night and it had gone on for a lot of the night. " I sure do but don't worry she is all wrapped up in her life too."She said rolling her eyes.Sara was aiming to be an actress and she had been quite moody for the past few weeks but Kate knew once everything was settled she would came down.Kate nodded and smiled "Sure"she said walking over and sitting down beside him.Tonight was perfect she had to say.The sky was beautiful and the sound of the sea was very relaxing. She looked at him "I love you too and don't you forget it"She said kissing him again this one lingering. She then put her head on his shoulder and looked out at the sea.It almost looked like her home in Ireland but there she would be wearing a hat, scarf, gloves and a jacket not to mention jeans. But she wasn't there she was in New Zealand with the most important person in the world "You know you mean everything to me"She said smiling as she looked at him.

<SIZE size="50">It had always occured to him since moving on from Hogwarts that life was a pretty complex thing no matter how things had happened in the early years. He knew that he would have to do a lot more with his life to ever make up for the completely losy childhood he'd had. Part of making up for it was righting all the mistakes he'd ever made. And that his parents had made. He'd forgiven his father. Some days he didn't feel like he deserved it, but Stefan could hardly keep a hold of a long gone past. He still wasn't sure what happened that possessed his father to do what he did, but something had and Stefan could hardly say that it was all him. He knew that nothing had forced his father to hurt him, but then, he couldn't forever live in the past where that kind of thing was remembered. He had to pave his own way in life. Letting what had happened stay in the past where it belonged and not in the life he'd built for himself. It was not easy to completely walk away. The scars throughout his body were the reminders of the troubled and turbulent upbringing he'd had. Stefan eyes glanced down at his arms. The scars were as clear as day. And would always be. Only the ones he'd gotten as a very young child had shown any signs of fading. One thing was dramatically different about Stefan, It wasn't a personality thing, or educational thing. He'd put on weight. He was still a little under the usual weight for a twenty year old male of his height (about 6ft) but he was pretty much there. He looked a lot healthier. Which was saying a lot. Ever since his father had died, Stefan hadn't ever had to worry about food that much. He had the usual worry of whether or not he was able to afford certain food, but he was eating proper meals. They were healthy because an unhealthy diet for him, was never a good idea. But it was something that the thought alone made him smile. He wasn't repulsed by his own reflection anymore. Which was a big thing. During school, He'd pretty hated everything about himself. But, as he'd grown and loved he realised that he didn't have to hate how he looked because he didn't look that bad. Despite the scars he looked pretty normal, and normal suited Stefan a lot. Like teaching suited Stefan. He was glad to hear that Kate's family were doing well. He always liked hearing about her family. Sara, while they hadn't always gotten along. Which was all Stefan's fault. Did appreciate her and the rest of the moon family. He nodded. "I'm glad, that Sara and the twins are good." Stefan smiled. He took a seat beside her. "She'll work it out. She'll make a great actress, just like one day you'll be a great rockstar. And all the people will know your name and your sister's name. I'll just be the boyfriend." Stefan smiled. Of course he had plans, to not just be her boyfriend. A small secret smile appeared on his face as he thought of his question.

While smiling, he met Kate's eyes as she spoke again. He could never forget Kate and how much he loved her. It was so odd, for him to feel that way towards a girl. He wondered if his parents had ever loved like this. Kate had always been the only girl for him. He had never seen anyone like how he saw Kate. It was a little weird, and cheesy but Stefan would not have had it, any other way. He didn't like anyone else. The rest were friends, Kate was the woman he'd always wanted. That appeared in his dreams when he'd allowed himself to think of the future. "How could I ever forget" He muttered to her, before leaning in and kissing her. It was true to him that the best thing that had ever happened to him was Kate. He hadn't ever had anyone stick with him as long as she had. Who'd bothered with him after all he'd done. He wasn't the easiest guy to get along with and he had had more issues than most, and yet she'd seen past it all, and really just seen him. He knew she was one in a million, well, to him, more like one in whatever the population of the earth was. He had never imagined himself so lucky. He had never really imagined that a girl so perfect like Kate would ever stick around for a boy like him. But that really was Kate. "I could never forget you." Stefan whispered pulling out from the kiss. He looked out to the water. He wondered if it was warm or cold. It would be hard to tell this far away. He wouldn't gone into the water, but he didn't have anywhere to put his wallet, and his phone. He looked back to Kate as she spoke again. "Ditto that. Girl, you mean more to me, than anything in this world. I'm literally the luckiest guy alive. A perfect girl, who's an amazing singer, and who can kick-@ss." Stefan put his arm around her "You and me forever" He leaned in and gave her a quick kiss on the lips. With his free hand, he reach into his trouser pocket and pulled out his phone. He placed it down onto the sand beside where he sat. "Kate, do you have anything electrical on you, like iPod, or phone?" Stefan asked, looking from her to the water and then back to her. A plan forming within his brain. The night was perfect, now for a little fun.

Kate looked up at the stars. For some reason tonight she kept on thinking of her past an future. She had had a good childhood. She had been popular in her primary school because of her light-hearted character. She had also been a good singer and into sports. She had loving parents who tried to give her the best chance in life. She had a great twin sister.Sadly they weren't as close now, they had sort of separated during their second year of Hogwarts and things had never been the same since but there was and always would be a special connection between them. She had the best younger siblings in the world. She still regretted the stress she put them through in her second year but now things were the same again. And then there were Micheal and Stefan Glass. The two family friends who had become almost like family. It had been a bit rocky between Kate and Stefan because he had a crush on her but that was all sorted now and she still kept in touch. But that was her past family. There were three extra special people in her life now,Stefan,Jake and Willow.Willow and Kate had struck a close bond in their second year helping each other deal with their fainting and health problems also the fact they both loved music and cooking. She and Jake had become close also during her second year.He had helped her recover mentally and he had always been there for her.It was strange that during her worst year at Hogwarts she had made two of the best friends a person could have.Kate didn't like to think about her second year. She still found it hard to believe she had sunk that low.She had become so thin and frail and the only way she recovered was through her family and friends. That part of her past would stick with her forever but she had to move on and focus on her bright future as an auror and popstar.Kate smiled "Don't worry you'll always be my star"She said laughing at the cheesy ness. But it was the truth.Stefan was the light at the end of her tunnel that would hopefully g=keep on shinning for a long time.

Kate smiled. She wanted this night to go on forever it was so perfect nothing could ruin it.She then found herself thinking about the past again. She was so glad she had stuck with Stefan all those years. She knew she would never regret it.She was glad to of gotten through to Stefan. He was her one and only. She had often wondered what it was like to feel true love. She being a lover of books had always had a perfect image of love but she had always thought it fake that it was just a bunch of words but now she knew it wasn't.One of her favorite proverbs is "There is one word that frees us all from the world of pain and that word is love".Kate swore by that proverb.Kate smiled and kissed him back. She remembered her sister saying that Stefan was the best thing that had happened to Kate. She hadn't believed it at first as she had been young then and she hadn't noticed how much more happy she was.But as she had gotten older she had realised how Stefan really had been the best thing that had happened to her.He just made her feel so loved and alive.Like nothing could stop her with him by her side. "I could never forget you either"she whispered back. She had already proved this as during Hogwarts when he had tried to push her away and make her forget him she never would. She was grateful for her stubbornness and detiermination.Kate laughed and snuggled in close when he put his arm around her."You know I am the luckiest girl in the world to have someone like you"She whispered kissing him back. She was confused by his next question "Am no I don't think so I have no pockets in this dress. Why?"She asked suspiciously wondering what he was up to.

One thing Stefan had never expect was the discovery of his family. He had aunts and uncles and cousins. All the normal people that others had. They were a little too late to help him, but he realised that his father and his mother had gone to New Zealand and dropped of the face of the planet. They'd only found Stefan since his father died, he'd found phone numbers of his father's family and his mother's family. Stefan hadn't obviously called them straight away. Goodness no, he'd been afraid that they were like his father. It hadn't helped that he could hardly read his fathers handwriting so he couldn't make out all the names. But, he'd written a letter to one of the family members, and soon, the entire family had boarded on planes and gone to New Zealand to find Stefan. At this point Stefan was between foster homes. He had been with two different families. They never seemed to want an almost of age boy, who was like Stefan. Not to mention Stefan had kept running off. Returning to his home. But, meeting them had been quite something. They'd all said he looked like his dad. But he had his mother's nose and eyes, and her hair colour. He hadn't told them about the colour blindness until after a few meetings. They had asked him, if he was, since his father had been, and it had been then that he'd spoken about the fact he couldn't colour at all. After a brief silence, he'd been showered with sympathy. His family were an oddity to him. He'd never felt part of his family, and it was still weird for him. He'd finally really understood how Willow had felt. Thrust into a new family, had not been easy for him. He still flinched at times while around them. But, they'd grown used to that, and he was relaxing while among them. One thing which had surprised him, was that each of them was at least married. The ones he'd met. One aunt he hadn't but, he wasn't bothered. They all had children. It was watching his mother's sister, Stefina that made him want that too. It would be wrong to assume that he was calm with it all. He knew that there would be a chance he'd pass on his defect which he didn't want to do, but In reality it was what he wanted.

Obviously it was a subject that couldn't be decided lightly, but he knew that his relationship with Kate would stand the test of time and that it would be possible. He would do everything to protect her, to be sure, that he would never lose her, like his father had lost his wife. And He would sure to also protect himself, so Kate would never suffer it either. He nodded as she spoke about Love. He loved her little proverbs. He didn't really know any, he was still learning but it always made him smile when Kate said one. It always suited the mood. And he thought that was pretty hard to do, but Kate did it perfect, like she did many things. He was staring at perfection he believed. Kate was pretty much perfection to him. The most perfect girl. He said it over and over how perfect she was, but that was because he really believed it. He couldn't help but feel his cheeks warm once more when she said she could never forget him. He couldn't help it, it was just his nature to blush whenever any kind of compliment came his way. He was more used to being put down that compliments he didn't deal with well. He blushed even more when she was lucky. His cheeks were now quite a red colour, he was glad he couldn't see it. But he wished she wouldn't see it. However his mind was now on other things. He removed his arm from around her, slowly pulling off the suit jacket And piling all his stuff on top. Phone, keys and wallet. He was glad that he'd placed his surprise in a little plastic pocket. He put one arm around Kate's Shoulders and the other underneath her knees and in one swift movement he picked her up. "I think it's time, we took a little swim." He smiled at her before walking straight into the water, when it was at his knees he looked down at Kate. "Hold you breath," Stefan smiled and then threw Kate into the water. He didn't think the water was that bad. It was a little chilly but it was still nice. He knew that doing this would just about ruin his shoes, but the useful thing about magic was that nothing was really ever broken. A simple spell and everything would be fine. It was one of the things he loved about magic. The seemingly endless possibilities. Limitation existed but, those didn't bother him. Stefan stood waiting for Kate to resurfacing think that she would most likely do something to get him as wet as he'd just gotten her.

Kate looked up at Stefan.Everything about him about him was perfect especially his eyes. They were such a bright blue and she just loved them. She loved Stefan with all her heart and she wouldn't let anything happen to him.And she knew he would protect her too.She smiled when he blushed "When will you ever learn to take a compliment"She teased. She thought it was so cute that he still couldn't take a compliment. Kate wondered what he was up to"What are y.."She started to say but she was silenced when he grabbed her.She then realised what he was up to "Your not serious"She said trying to get out of his grasp but she couldn't because he was stronger. When he was knee deep knew what was coming "He-"she tried to say but her sentence was cut off because she went under water. When she resurfaced her dress and hair was ruined. She was glad she had happened to put on her waterproof make up this evening. "You are so dead"She said running over to him.She pushed him over so he went under water."Serves you right"she said in between her laughter.Since she was already wet she decided to take a little swim. Her hair and body would all be salty and her dress she would have to bring to a drycleaners but she was happy. It was nice to have some fun after so much work. She looked towards the beach and saw a few people(mostly couples) looking at them in disbelief. She smiled she forgot how nice the sea was,She started floating and just looked up at the stars wanting this perfect night to go on

No longer scared of everything, Stefan had a lot more freedom to do what he pleased. Stefan was able to leave where he slept without fearing everything that was around him. He didn't feel the need to look around his shoulder every few minutes. He knew that his father was gone and that he couldn't hurt him any more. It had taken him a long while to come to that realisation that his father couldn't hurt him. It had taken seeing the body of his father for him to be sure that he was dead, and after that, it had taken him a while to get used to not having him around. It was weird to think in such a fashion considering what his father had been, like through it all, his father was still his father and nothing changed that. He was one of the main figures in his life while growing up and nothing could change that fact. He wouldn't try to change it. He never claimed that his father hadn't been his. He knew he and his father were related and he never pretended that he was actually adopted. His father was still his father and he would never deny it. Stefan had grown confident over the years, and he knew that lying about his past would send him back to square one. He didn't talk about it, because it was the past but he no longer lied about it. He no longer made false claims, and invented stories, he told as much of truth as he possibly could before it was in the area that he just didn't like talking about. It had taken him a long while to even be able to admit what was wrong with him. With his life. Mutter the words that had eaten away at him for the longest time possible. Stefan however no longer had to worry about things like that. He had a beautiful girlfriend, who loved him for him. As he loved her for her. A best friend that he felt the term sister would be a better explanation. He would have a decent job and he hadn't gotten a bruise from anyone since his father had died. Life had balanced itself out.

A large smile was on Stefan's face as he watched Kate hit the water. He loved just spending time with her and being somewhat spontaneous. He knew that the small things they did kept everything fun. It wasn't that the relationship was boring but every so often, Stefan felt the need to remind himself and Kate, that they were still very young, and there entire lives ahead of them. Nothing was certain, and adding a little extra fun, created the best of memories. He had first hand knowledge that life was unpredictable. And while he knew he had his entire life ahead of him, and anything could change everything, he knew for a fact that he wanted to spend it all with Kate. His parents had married young and while it hadn't gone to plan, He was sure that the time they'd had would've been the best time of there life. He wanted to be more than just Kate's boyfriend. He felt his body be pushed and he just had time to hold his breath before he went under the water. Stefan loved the feel of the water against the skin. He resurfaced, and stood up. Soaked to the skin, but laughing and smiling. "That is no way for an almost auror to act. I'll be a professor, I can be childlike" Stefan laughed as he spoke. "You are still beautiful in a soaked dress and with wet hair. Not to mention amazing, for not killing me for doing it to you." Stefan waited till she swum near him before speaking once again. "Hey Kate," He started, and then waited for her to respond.

As a young girl Kate had taken everything for granted. She had never really appreciated her life until she had met people who were less fortunate then her.She remembered all the times in the kitchen with her mother who loved to cook. Not until she left school had Kate realised how glad she was to be a fairly good cook. She could cook some decent meals and not have to get fast food. She also had taken for granted her mom.The person who had been there for her when she needed her most. The person to talk to when her body started to change. It wasn't until she had met Stefan that she realised how lost she would of been with out her mum.It had put Kate's mind to rest when she was younger to know her mother was there ready to help her from anything even if that thing was something of Kate's imagination. In ways she had been like an older sister to Kate. And like sisters they had had their arguments which had become more frequent when Kate had gone into her late teens but know she was someone Kate could talk to.

Kate smiled when Stefan resurfaced. She was enjoying this little surprise. It was almost a break from all the seriousness and studying. She knew she would remember this valentines day for a long time. She rolled her eyes when he spoke. "I'm sure I can be an exception"She said smiling. "Why thank you and you look very handsome for someone in wet clothes. "She said smiling and swimming towards him. When she was beside him she stood up.So she was looking at him straight in the eyes. "I love you"She whispered before kissing him.It was a long blissful kiss, one that Kate didn't want to end.

There wasn't much that Stefan had to worry about lately. His thesis took up a lot of his time, but he wasn't worried about it, more stressed about it. However, Stefan had been very worried about this night. Sure, it had pretty much all gone to plan. Well, almost all. He hadn't bothered in his plan to factor in the little water break, but it was nice. He loved unplanned things as much as he loved planned things. However this night had gone almost to the letter. Stefan felt himself worry with each second that something else went to plan. He had never really thought about what kind of guy, he would become. If he was honest he wasn't sure that he would make it this far. But, then he had. And he was more in love with life than he had ever been. He had so much going for him, that he was close to feeling untouchable. And for the ex-slytherin this feeling wasn't one that he thought would ever come close to him. And yet, against all the odds, here he was with a perfect girl, a sure job at the end of the year. A real chance at a career, and not one care in the world. It was the weirdest thing for him. He would've understood if he'd gotten one of the things, but the fact that he had everything, just made him smile. It made him remember how perfect his life was now. How he had managed to make something of himself. He was maybe not famous, or a hotshot lawyer or ministry official, but he didn't need to be. He was perfectly happy where he was. And that was it exactly. He was happy. That's all he had ever wanted. He wanted to be happy above all else. And just being around Kate made him that. It was exactly why, he had planned this day to the letter. Right down to the words he would speak. Well, the next ones coming he'd planned. Stefan couldn't help but begin to feel nervous. He'd never been that great with words. Words were Kate. She wrote songs after all. He was just the professor. He spoke about things he knew, not this. This was new. Like it should be. In his time at Hogwarts Stefan hadn't ever been with anyone. His first girlfriend had been Kate. And he didn't think he'd missed anything. He hadn't ever felt more connected with a person. He didn't need anyone else. His friends were his friends, but Kate, she was his other half.

"I love you too" Stefan Mason Archer was just able to mutter before she kissed him. Stefan wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back. It was the best kind of kiss, long blissful and full of L-O-V-E. If a kiss could just be that. But to him it was. He broke the kiss, but only leaned out till there noses touch. His forehead against hers. He was meeting her eyes. As much as he was okay with the colour blindness, he would give anything to see her eyes properly. "I want this to be forever" He muttered to her. He leaned in again and lightly kissed her. He pulled away and took both her hands in his. "We've been friends, for a long while. You're one of my closest and best friends. You are the best girlfriend. You are the most perfect girl. I don't know where I would be without you, and for me, that is one hundred percent true. Without you, I'd still be where I was in second, third and fourth year." It wasn't exactly going how he planned, but, the words seemed to somewhat flow. He was taking small pauses to breath and think. He had to, this was very much important. "I love you Kate Moon, you have made me feel complete. I loved you long before I ever plucked up the courage to finally say it. I'll always love you. So, Kate," Stefan let go of one of her hands, he felt into his pocket, and from within opened the waterproof bag and pulled out a small square box. He then proceeded to get down onto one knee. He was now half emersed in water, but he didn't care. He held the little box in one of his hands and her hand in the other. He let go of her hand, and looked from her hand up to meet her eyes. He was smiling. "I want us, forever. I want to be more than just your boyfriend. So, Miss Kate Rose Moon, Will you marry me?" Stefan opened the little black box and revealed a silver ring, with a diamond on top. The ring, was the ring that had belonged to his mum. He'd found it when cleaning out all the old boxes from rooms he had never entered. It had been after his father had died, he'd gotten the chance to finally go through all the old memories he'd thought had long been gone. He kept his eyes on Kate, smiling. He wasn't aware that though they were still celebrating Valentines day, It had already struck midnight and it was now, the 15th of February. It would be there day. In years to come, when on the 15th other couples had nothing to be happy with, they had something, her day. He knew that this all rode on that one word. The one word he was growing increasingly worried that Kate wouldn't say. Each second seemed like a lifetime, he needed an answer.

Kate loved her new life. She had such good friends and a great boyfriend. She had a stable job as an auror and she was living her dream of being a singer and writing her own songs. She remembered a winters day by the rosebush at the end of her first term in Hogwarts. She had gone there for some peace and quiet and she had met Willow there. They had talked about music and how to write music.Back then she had never thought she had been able to write a song but now she had written lots of songs and where ever she played them they were popular. She was glad that Stefan supported her because it must of been annoying when she went into lalala land trying to come up with a song.

She smiled as he kissed and she wrapped her hands around him too. When he broke away she looked at him as their noses and foreheads touched. This was a magical moment and it felt very special like something important was going to happen. She kissed him back and then smiled in confusion wondering what was about to happen. She blushed slightly at his words he was as important to her as she was to him.He was perfect in every way.She knew what was going to happen but her brain was slow.It wasn't piecing the information together quick enough. In the distance she could hear the chiming of the church bell. Her heart started to beat faster as he kneeled on one knee. She did a little gasp when she saw the beautiful ring.It was amazing. She then took a deep breath and looked at Stefan and smiled "Yes"She whispered barley comprehending what was happening.

Each second seemed like an eternity. He felt himself practically hold his breath. Everything seemed like it was rushing to this moment. The final step to leaving the old Stefan behind and moving on to become the more mature, and family Stefan. He knew that marriage would be difficult that it was be worked at, but he knew in his heart and head that they could do it. They would make it work. There was almost nothing that they hadn't already faced. He was smiling at Kate, hoping that the word yes would slip from her mouth. Why was this so hard. He hadn't felt so nervous about asking a question. Not even with his father had he been so nervous to ask a question. Yes Stefan smiled even more, he let out a little sigh of relief, before, taking the ring from the box and slipping it onto her finger. He closed the box and placed it back into his pocket, before lightly kissing Kate's hand. Before standing and throwing his arms around his now fiancee and hugging her. He was so pleased. He had the biggest smile on his face and he couldn't help but feel like finally everything was right. He would stand by her, through thick and thin. He would always love her, and value her. He would forever support her in all that she did. And he would try everything and anything to keep her happy. Should they down the line consider children of there own, Stefan knew that with there experience combined that they would make great parents. Well, he was sure that Kate would be an Awesome parent. And he knew he'd picked it up along the way. Stefan was smiling widely. He couldn't believe this, he would do whatever Kate wanted. It would a joint thing, but he wanted Her to make all the major decisions. Considering he was colourblind, it would be up to her to pick all the colours for the day itself. Stefan broke the hug and leaned in and kissed Kate. An amazing night.

Kate's smile was huge. She watched as Stefan put the ring on her finger. It was beautiful and Kate had to look at it every few seconds to make sure she wasn't seeing things.when he hugged her she hugged him just as tight. She was so happy now nothing could ruin this night. She had never imagined who she would of married and how and when it had never occured to her when with Stefan either she wasn't that type of girl who fussed about their weddings since they were six.Kate laughed at the big smile on Stefan's face.It was weird to think he was now her fiancee and she was his.She would stand by him through anything and she knew if they decided to have kids they would be parents.she didn't want a big fancy wedding she wanted a nice, simple quiet wedding with only close family and friends. There was a lot of planning but Kate wasn't going to think about that tonight was going to be her and Stefan's night. She kissed Stefan back all her excitment coming through.when she broke away she looked at the ring again and smiled remembering the first time she had met Stefan who would of thought nearly ten years later they would be engaged. She looked up at Stefan and smiled tonight was definatly going to be a night she would remember.
