Now that Chloe was all caught up with her schoolwork, she knew she had to study for the upcoming exams. She was, but it sometimes took a lot of energy out of her. When she wasn’t studying, in her free time she was mostly outside on her broom, occasionally without her bat just to fly around. But today she decided to stay indoors and do something different during her study break, and had sent a note to Cyrus asking him to meet here at the student lounge. She figured she needed to socialise a little, and what better way to do that than to hang out with her closest friend. She really needed to expand her circle. The girl entered the lounge and settled herself on a beanbag chair, trying not to fall asleep as she waited. School always took a lot of energy from the Ravenclaw, especially when exams were around the corner. Having only discovered her magical abilities at age ten, Chloe had struggled to come to terms with it in her first year. That, and how to control it with a wand. But now she had to prove that she was just as good as everyone else, which is why she wasn’t resting until she did so. Well, except for right now. Right now she really just wanted to chill with her friend.

Cyrus Baros could not wait until his little sister would come along to the school, but it was going to be a couple of years yet. The Hufflepuff made his way to the student lounge since Chloe Chan wanted to hang out with him. He would never say no to her! Under no circumstances. He opened the door to the lounge, and found her sitting there. He beamed from ear to ear as he approached the Ravenclaw with a small wave. "Hey! How is it going?" Cyrus asked as he plopped down next to the Ravenclaw. He looked over at her and wondered if she was also worried about the upcoming exams. Cyrus always worried about them, even from the start of the year.

When Chloe saw her friend approach, she returned his smile, and waved a little at him, she didn’t think he looked stressed out or anything, like Chloe was, about the exams. She really needed to do well, although she had faith in herself she lacked the confidence sometimes. She may have appeared that way all the time, but she wasn’t. She often wished she could just have Cyrus’s attitude towards school. He seemed so chilled. Then again, maybe he was just as worried as she was. "Hey you," she greeted, giving him a nudge with her elbow. "It’s stressful times, ain’t it," she sighed, running a hand through her hair. "But otherwise I’m good," she responded to his question. "You, uh, feeling ready for the exams?"

Cyrus shook his head, though it was more of a 'ugh exams no' versus a 'no am not worried' shake. "I have been worried since the moment that they even mentioned the word. Tests are something I am not good at. I tend to misspell everything." Cyrus shrugged his shoulders. He did not want to talk about those yet. "Do you have any siblings? My little sister will be coming to school soon. Not like next year soon enough. She will be here when we are..." Cyrus faded away while he counted on his fingers to see what school year it would be, "sixth years! Dude, she won't have me to watch over her for too long!" Cyrus frowned, thinking about her. She was just a baby girl. To him, anyway.

When Cyrus shook his head at her question, at first Chloe assumed he wasn’t worried, and she was about to say that he was lucky not to be worried but then he answered her question and she felt relieved that she wasn’t the only one out of the both of them. "Thank you for your honesty," she said with a smile, teasing him, exams were indeed stressful, but the Ravenclaw couldn’t help her comment. "I get that," she told him, turning to face him a little more. "But don’t worry, I’m sure you’ll do great," she said in an attempt to encourage him, possibly cheer him up. Then he asked her if she had any siblings, and proceeded to tell her about his sister. Chloe shook her head sadly at him. "No, I don’t actually, unfortunately I’m an only child, which sucks sometimes. Okay, I have younger step siblings, but they’re in Singapore and I doubt they’re magical," she said. "I basically grew up with just my mom, but just before I came to Hogwarts she remarried this guy who had children with his ex-wife. They were married at the time of course..." she trailed off. "It’s complicated." It probably wasn’t that difficult to get, but she had to stop there otherwise she’d go on for ages. "Sorry, I rambled," she laughed. Cyrus’s sister coming to Hogwarts when they were in their sixth year made her feel like she was growing up too fast. "Well, that makes me feel old," she stated. "I mean look at this way, during the two years that we are all at Hogwarts you’ll have another person to watch over her." Of course, Chloe was referring to herself. She’d do it if he asked, or needed.

The Baros boy smiled when she thanked him for his honesty. That was something that he valued a lot. Maybe that was why he was a Hufflepuff. Who knows. "I am sure you will too! I think Ravenclaws get the top grades anyway. Like, engineered in your genes or something," teased the Hufflepuff with his tongue out at her. When she went into detail about her family, he was sort of confused. She doubted that her siblings were magical? But, she was, so wouldn't they be? "Don't be sorry for rambling! It seems a little confusing at first, but I am sure that in a minute, I will get it." So, her mom's new husband has children with his ex-wife, prior to marrying Chloe's mom. Right, that he understood. Okay, now he was on the same page. Cyrus smiled even more when she said that Lydia would have another person to watch over her besides him. He knew that she didn't mean Hades. Hades was too busy with something else. "That would be awesome, if she was in Ravenclaw! I don't know what I would do if she wasn't in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Don't really have others to watch over her from those houses."
