<SIZE size="50">If anything the fact the Hufflepuff and her twin had managed to get sorted into two different houses was a good thing, but she did not exactly see it as such. What had at first been happiness at the fact her brother and her, were at the same school but able to follow different paths was not something that the girl had actually really wanted. Sure in thoughts, the split would be good, they'd both grow by each other's side but apart. Tegan was just sure that at least for the first year having her twin by her side would be a little more than perfect. He was really the best thing in her life currently, apart from the magic she could do. However the girl knew no spells, and she knew no one. It wasn't exactly perfect. And it wasn't how she had wanted to spend the start of the year. The Tahiti born Hufflepuff had taken her time getting ready. She'd picked out some wintery clothes and had carefully gotten dress and gotten used to her surroundings. She didn't know what it would be like growing up knowing of the magic, but as her fingers touched the bed sheets and she thought of how her mother or her father could've been of magical blood. Could've had an amazing time at one of the many wizarding school that supposedly existed. It hadn't ever really occurred to her to think of her biological parents as people she should be interested in, after all they hadn't cared enough to keep them around so it was almost expected that after a while she stopped thinking about them, but here at Hogwarts in a place where she knew nothing about it, she couldn't help but wonder. However, once she'd been around the room a few times, and was fully dressed, the girl decided it was time to step outside the comfort zone of hufflepuff and go in search of things to do and people to meet. It wasn't her first thought to go to the Great Hall or anything like that, rather she thought it would be smart to head somewhere on the floor where Hufflepuff was. That way she could explore the areas nearest to her. And if everything else failed she'd be able to continue down floor to floor until she found a room interesting enough for her to stick around in.

After a little wander, and passing up the library, the girl with the bubblegum pink hair walked into the last room on the corridor. It was a fairly large room, with quite a number of people within it. Overall, Tegan was not quite sure of the purpose of the room. It seemed like it could be a very interesting place to just go and hang out. It didn't make her think that it was a place she wouldn't enjoy. There were plenty of people, so she was sure it would be the perfect place to meet people that weren't necessarily in her house. It was not the type of place that her brother would ever go to. There were too many people and too few exits. This made her smile falter slightly, but as she made her way through the room, letting the hazel brown eyes scan the room, Tegan realized it was exactly the place for her. There was just one tiny little problem. She had no one to share the room with yet. Since she knew no body the girl wanted to be able to make some friends, but everyone in the room looked slightly older than she did, which did not bode well for her. Instead the girl took a seat near the back of the room with the comfortable sofas and began to hum to herself. She'd at least be noticeable against the other people in the room, since she was the only one with pink hair. Smiling to herself, Tegan thought positively about what the year could very well hold for her.

Hariah was loving Hogwarts so far. It was so big and full of mystery, it was fantastic. All the different corridors and the moving stairs really confused her though, she would have to get used to them. She made a mental note to remember which stairs moved where. She kept getting caught off guard when the stairs decided to move her to somewhere other than her destination. This did infuriate her sometimes especially when she ended up in a new part of the castle where she had not been before. There were plus sides to this though, as she found lots of interesting little rooms and towers.

It looked like today was going to be one of those days.

Hariah arrived on the fourth floor looking for the library, there were a number of corridors where she could walk through which might lead there. She pondered which one she should go down for a moment. Making a decision she walked down the middle corridor which lead to a dark brown wooden door at the end. She could hear voices behind the door, this can't be the library she thought to herself. People in libraries were supposed to be quiet. Nevertheless, she opened the door to find herself in a large room filled with students and comfy looking chairs. Hariah looked around to see if there was anyone she knew in the room, she could ask them where the library was. Unfortunately she couldn't see anyone but a small girl with bright pink hair. She looked like she was in the same year as Hariah. So she walked over to the girl in the corner, she felt that she would rather ask a fellow first year, it wouldn't be as embarrassing as asking one of the older students.

"Hi" Hariah started with "I take it from the amount of students and noise this isn't the library is it?" she smiled weakly.

<SIZE size="50">The Student lounge was a good place to be. It was nosey and it was easy to just sit and watch as people walked and talked to one another. It was most definitely one of those places to go if she wanted to meet with friends, but the Huffleuff knew that she would not actually ever be able to do any work there. It was a slightly annoying factor, but one she knew would not be too much of an issue considering that she had at least the time to learn where was the best place to study. Here in the student lounge so early on in the year, the Tahiti born girl was pretty much okay with everything that she had to do. Sure she was yet to make friends, but it would come with time, and there was the fact that she still had her brother and her brother would be the one to help her, just like he would help him. In that moment however she wondered if she should just give up on sitting alone and just go find him. forget that her mind told her to stay put and that she had to just stick it out in the end what difference would it really make. Here in this room she at least had the chance of eventually becoming friends with someone. She wasn't sure if it would be someone she'd still liked after a few years, but she at least needed to know that there was the option for such a thing. But, most first years she guessed wouldn't want to be in the student lounge since it was made up primarily of older students who didn't really care about if they were or were not the people they should be helping. But at least the girl took solice in the fact her bubblegum pink hair would actually help her. Easy to spot and therefore easy to talk to. It was easy to tell that she was a first year, Tegan was fairly small for her age, and she had a smile that said she was young. It was as she continued to sit that she noticed a girl walking over to her. The girl looked nice. Friendly, and because of that Tegan smiled at her. It was as she did so, that the girl spoke. Tegan shook her head and smiled slightly.

"No, this is not. The Library is down the corridor. The noise is very very different" Tegan said, her light french accent playing on her words. "I'm Tegan, Tegan Verline. You a first year?" Tegan asked holding her hand out to the girl and waiting for her to shake it.

Hariah nodded at what the girl was saying. "Oh I see" I must have missed a door Hariah thought to herself. She shook Tegan's hand. "Hello Tegan, that's a nice name, where are you from?" she asked the girl. Hariah pulled over a chair next to Tegan. "My names Hariah and yes I am a first year, are you?" Hariah asked Tegan, by the look of her she didn't look any bigger than Hariah so she assumed Tegan was a first year too. She hoped she was anyway. It would be nice to meet a girl her own age, the only first years she had met so far had all been boys, Hariah didn't mind this as she didn't really grow up with any male influences around her, it was a nice change.

Hariah noticed Tegan's hair colour again, it was very bright she wondered if it was dyed that colour or not. She liked it, it was different, you definitely stand out from the crowd with that colour. Hariah considered dying her hair a different colour, probably not at bright as Tegan's, but something that would make her distinguishable in a crowd. She had enough of blending in at home.

<SIZE size="50">Lightly nodding, Tegan realized that it would be fairly difficult during the first few days to find her way around the castle. It would be interesting, but she knew that it would take her a while, before she was able to go from one part of the school to the other without getting too confused. It would become easier with time, that much she was sure of. That and at least she knew that she would not be the only one to have problems finding her way around the place. It would take more than just a little wander before everyone would be good at it. Apart from those who already knew the school slightly the ones with the siblings around the school, or the ones that just had incredible memory and instead of spending the first few days lazing around, were spending them mapping there way around the school so that when the time came they would easily be able to find out where they were to be and for the right time. She was sure that it was actually pretty useful. Tegan however had no interest in doing such a thing. Instead she was just happy making a few friends and having a bit of fun. "Yeah, this place is so huge, I'm going to get so lost when classes start" Tegan smiled as she spoke, once again her words accented lightly by french. She smiled as the girl complimented her on her name and asked where she was from. Tegan sat up slightly and smiled again. She was proud of her home. Tahiti, how was that a place to not be proud of. It was amazing, and it had so much to offer anyone who was near it. She would suggest it to all people as a holiday destination. The girl then introduced herself. And Tegan felt amazing, this was going to be amazing. It didn't matter what previous worries she had. She'd make it the best years ever.

"Yeah, first year and proud of it. It's very nice to meet you Hariah, it's a lovely name too." Tegan complimented with a friendly tone. "And I'm from Tahiti. It's an island. And the nearest school is Hogwarts New Zealand, so here I am. Just moved to a bigger Island. What about you? Where are you from?" Tegan always found that most people she met in tahiti had the same sort of friendly attitude that she did. There were some bad eggs, but on the whole, the entire Island got along well. She wondered if Hariah was from New Zealand or not, and if she'd even heard of Tahiti. Either way, she was keen to learn more about the girl in front of her.

Hariah nodded in agreement "I know, it's going to be very confusing especially with lots of students rushing around getting to their lessons. I know for sure that I will get lost at least a few times." she was a bit worried about this, what if she split up from the rest of her house and got completely lost in the midst of all the students?

Hariah smiled, she had met another first year! Even better another first year girl. "Thankyou" she said to Tegan, Hariah did like her name it was unusual and distinctive. "Oh wow" Hariah said as she heard Tegan talking about Tahiti. She didn't know exactly where it was but it sounded nice. "It sounds lovely" she said smiling at Tegan. Hariah assumed it was somewhere by France because she heard Tegan speak with a faint French accent.

"I'm from England in Warwickshire" Hariah answered. She loved it there and she missed it, but she liked it in New Zealand too. It was very different.
